We had a wonderful weekend here celebrating the marriage of Brian and Angel. The cabin is beautiful and leaves were changing all around the house. Thank you, Dick and Karen for everything - we hope to come back soon!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Jess, Casper and I really enjoyed our visit to Maggie's Tree Hourse. Our only regret is we couldn't stay longer! We loved all the windows and being able to cook some meals here. So peaceful! Casper figured out how to nose the screen door open to the deck. He loved letting himself out there to explore. We hope to come back soon!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We really enjoyed our visit to this Maggie Valley home. I nicknamed it the "Glass House". The living areas on the upper floor are surrounded by windows. It is truly light filled. The bedrooms are on the lower level and also have nice windows. The wrap-around deck on the upper level is really nice and spacious. We had everything we could need during our stay. All we had to supply was groceries! The owners were very nice and good to work with. We would definitely recommend this location to friends. It is especially nice if you want to have a peaceful time. We like to go panning and enjoyed a visit to the Pressley Sapphire mine in Canton. This isn't your average tourist trap, but an authentic, 150 year old working mine. We also visited Harrah's casino in Cherokee. It was my first time in a casino. I was amazed at the place. Overall, the trip was peaceful and beautiful. We hope to return soon.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind words about Maggie's Tree House. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope you will come back again in the future. We live in the area and we are constantly learning from our guests. Sounds like you had a great time at the mine in Canton and we are going to have to try it out ourselves!

A few more showers this July. I found myself in latex rain wear at Maggie Valley Country Club and Laurel Ridge (a beautiful course) too many times! Often we took Sugar, our lab, up on the Blude Ridge mm#418 to the stairs on the right to Graveyard Fields and the Lower Falls. And in the late afternoons to Lake Junaluska. We enjoyed grilling and dining on the deck. And a lovely evening at "The Swag". Bison was on the menu and after dinner entertained by a story teller, a lovely evening at 5,000 feet. Old Stone Inn is another favorite. This summer we dined at Smokey Shadow Lodge a very unique family style dinner. Delicious and a beautiful mountain view. We also shopped the Waynesville Farmer's Market Wed and Sat mornings. The Shelton House and the Old English Toffiee Shop are in the same area. Looking forward to a next summer here. Thank you for a wonderful stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We were delighted with this property. It was everything as advertised. I was surprised that all bedrooms were downstairs. I walk with a cane and it was a bit of a challenge. But good for me! Call it physical therapy. We brought our dogs to the dog show and they loved it there. Each dog had their own crate. But one got out one night while we were at dinner and messed up a blind on the door of the master sweet. We had paid a pet fee and it was for just such as this! We would certainly recommend this site to others and hope to return their ourselves next year in June for the dog show again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

My wife and I enjoyed an anniversay trip to this property in Nov., 2011. As advertised, it is a very well equipped contemporary home with lots of light from large windows. We are frequent VRBO renters, this home is as nice as any we have stayed in. The owners were really great to work with. They were flexible with our travel plans and addressed a minor problem with the furnace immediately, no hassle for us at all. I would highly recommend this home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wow! We are the first to write about our visit at Maggie's Treehouse in your guest book. . What a wonderful retreat! We live at sea level so the mountains were a cool and refreshing change. We saw elk at the Masonic Point off the Blue Ridge Parkway, heard the ice falling from the top of pines a mile above seal level, enjoyed the working farm at the entrance to the Great Smokies where we saw park rangers harvesting sorgum. Of course, the Biltmore Estate was amazing on a beautiful autumn day. Thank you Karen and Dick for providing a comfortable and well-provisioned house.Did you find this review helpful? Karen, I wanted to send you a note to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at the "treehouse". You have a very tastefully decorated and furnished retreat that exceeded our expectations. I'm only sorry we did not have an opportunity to meet you and Dick while we were there. I have taken the liberty of telling several people about your property and how much we enjoyed our time in the "trees". Perhaps with the Lord's blessing, we will be able to make another trip to the mountains of North Carolina and your place will be highest on our agenda.Did you find this review helpful?
