We had a wonderful time in the charming "South of Broad" neighborhood; this house is in the perfect walk-to-everything location with one of the area's most charming lanes on its north side. Charleston has much to do and we tried to fit it all in, but the best is just walking the streets of the neighborhood and on to the tourist area with restaurants, etc. It is close to everything you want to be close to, and just a short drive to West Ashley, Folly Beach, Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms. The house is well-equipped with charming details from 1820 but has updated kitchen and bathrooms. Although parking is on the street, we never had to park off the block.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

We stayed in this home for a month in November. The house and the location were excellent. The VRBO pictures of the house do not do it justice. It is very spacious and well equipped with top of the line appliances and a 52” HDTV with TIVO. The house is located on one of the most desirable streets in Historic downtown Charleston, close to many fine restaurants and historic sites. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. We have stayed in several VRBO homes and this was one of the best.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.

Location
Owner info
About the owner: I love the location since I can walk along a beautiful quiet Lane to Charleston's Battery each morning - First Friday art gallery openings begin a block away and Goat, Sheep & cow cheese shop on Church Street will be a daily bonus where you can meet you neighbors and taste the best cheeses, breads and wine in Charleston!
Why the Owner Chose Charleston:
Charleston is our favorite city in the world! Horse drawn buggies, world class restaurants, historic house museums, walking the battery and White Point gardens, and shopping on King Street.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We walk everywhere and rarely use our car, First Friday art walks, King Street Second Sunday where King Street is blocked off for pedestrians, Saturday morning farmers market, biking across bridge to Mt Pleasant, all so close to this house!
