The apartment is part of a recently built (2011) guest house whitch is made of wood with solar panels, photovoltaic panels and it is designed to be as eco-friendly as possible.
It is located in Framura, a small village so close to the famous Cinque Terre that it can be considered the sixth one. Here you will have the possibility to eat outside if you like, to sunbath or to enjoy the fresh water of the stream nearby.
The property is surrounded by fields, vineyards, olive and cherry trees.
We produce…with organic-love: olive oil, white and red wine, vegetables and the famous honey from Liguria.
Here, in Framura, you can find signs of many different ages from the roman one to the medieval one and of course the modern one. the centre of the village is wonderful, with its small lanes, hidden gardens and terraces overlooking the sea. Furthermore in this beautiful location, you will find small and traditional food shops that sell all the typical local products. In the central Piazzetta there is a nice quiet bar where in the evening the inhabitants use to relax having a glass of wine and chatting while children play nearby. In summertime you will also able to enjoy the beautiful and unspoiled sea of Framura sunbathing on its beautiful beaches or taking part to one of the boat trips which departing from the small, romantic port of the village reach the most hidden and amazing places of the coast. On the 10th of August here takes place one of the typical local fest to celebrate the night of San Lorenzo and people use to meet in the streets and squares to eat together and dance;during another fest people at midnight light a great number of small candles and set them out into the sea. To watch them floating away is really impressive. Many open air markets are held every day in this area. Additionally nearby there is the famous National Park of Cinque Terre where you will find many breathtaking paths and some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy. Moreover by boat or by train you can easily reach Portofino, Portovenere, Chiavari, Sestri Levante, Santa Margherita Ligure and Genoa with its museums, the famous aquarium, some UNESCO world heritage sites and a well known Opera House as well as the most fashionable shops. From here it will take just about two hours by train to reach Florence, Pisa, and less than an hour to reach Sarzana, a beautiful medieval town.
By car you can also visit the beautiful Vara Valley famous for its nature and the effort made by its inhabitants to preserve it, in fact Varese Ligure was the first town in Europe to be considered ecological.

My husband and I loved the beautiful vistas from the guest house and the surrounding areas. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The food they provide is excellent and the studio is extremely clean. We had a car so we would venture to nearby towns on the sea, where my husband could paint and I could relax. You can walk down to the stream on the property, and you can hear it while sitting in their picnic area, which adds tranquility to your stay. Lilia is so warm and friendly as well as the rest of her family. If you'd like her to make you a meal she only charges 6 euro per meal and we enjoyed more than one meal from Lilia because they are so good. She has food waiting for you when you arrive, which is very convenient, after a long trip. It was a perfect place to end our vacation in Italy. If you like to escape the tourist traps, or even if you like that sort of thing (Cinque Terre and Portofino are nearby), you can get there from here. We speak very little Italian, but all the people we met were very friendly, so we would gesture and use the few words we knew, or at some restaurants they would bring the staff person who speaks English. We hope to return someday, and would gladly stay here again.

Dear Lilia/Guido: Thank-you for your hospitality in Framura and in Portofino. The walking and hiking in Framura was amazing. Swimming in the ocean in October was an unexpected treat. I must say that your properties were the highlight of our 3 weeks in Italy. Being able to take the quick train ride into Cinque Terre and walk between the lands was fantastic. Then, the opportunity to return to our Yellow Farm House to enjoy the sunset and glass of wine...amazing. To say nothing of the wonderful pasta dishes Lilia whipped up! We also enjoyed our short trips to the Alimentari and macelleria for our daily provisions. The suite was perfect. We will definitley be back. Grazie mille

We could not be more impressed with our stay in Framura! What a blessing to meet this generous family!!! Everything about our stay was amazing. The food, the view, the other guests on premises, the hosts!!! It is OFF the beaten path and you do have to take a train into "CinqueTerre," but it's so worth it. Personally, we prefer to see and feel what life of locals is really like.....not get shuffled around from one tourist hotspot to another! So, it was great. I felt as if we were a part of the family during our stay, and even afterwards as Lilian cared enough to mail us a "forgotten" blanket belonging to my 6 year old! Ava waited so patiently on it's arrival and we are forever grateful for it's safe return!

In fact, I will rememeber for the rest of my life Ava and her family thanks to a forgotten blanket and thanks to a beautiful schetch of home! and when your children will be 20 years old and they will travel Italy to see again the places where they lived, we could talk each others and rememebre a solid, pink blanket and an elegant picture...thank you very much for finding the occasion to think of us. the time you spent in Framura was very nice for all of us. an hug from Liguria, Lilia and Guido and Giulia...and the dogs!

Our family had a great time here. We stayed for 6 days at the end of May. Lilia, Guido, and Julia are such kind people!! They have a great property to share with visitors. It's so peaceful, and so green there. The area is very beautiful, and convenient. We can't say enough about this special place. We thought it would be nice to stay by the ocean villages, but I can't see it being as peaceful. It's easy enough to take the train into the villages. Driving there is beautiful in itself, but do get a gps with your car, it make it so easy. We'll have everlasting memories of this beautiful cozy spot. Perfect for all sorts of nature loving people. Just wonderful. Our warm regards to the family! P.S "Winnie Bear" is very happy with her new friend! G, I, and M :)

We stayed four days and would go back again for longer if we have a chance. It is run by a sweet and generous family, and they do so much to make you feel comfortable and cared for that it is a little sad to leave. We came by train and were picked up at the station by the owners. They were happy each day to give us a ride to and from the train station when we choose to head out to explore the Cinque Terre. Lilia had some food in our apartment when we arrived so we would not have to go shopping right away, but that first night we ended up getting a dinner that she had prepared. In fact, we ate food prepared by Lelia for 3 of the 4 nights we stayed there. She is a talented cook, and for a very small cost we had wonderful home cooked, authentic meals. She had sausages made by a neighbor that were the best we ever tried. If you stay there, be sure to take the walk down to the sea through all the villages of Framura. Compared to our experiences in the Cinque Terre, this walk gave a much truer feel for the culture and everyday life of the people who live in this area. And the views and scenery on this walk are unforgettable. The flat we stayed in was a large studio apartment. It was very clean and tastefully furnished and we felt comfortable and cozy immediately. If you like travel that lands you unexpectedly in a beautiful place and connects you to real, open and giving people, this would be a great place to stay.

Title says it all, but let me expand. Lilia is the most wonderful host/owner and her apartment is simply wonderful! Scenic, quiet, the perfect location, high quality construction and appointments -- we really could not have had a better time and later in our trip we found ourselves wishing we were back at "our apartment". I only hope that she attracts the highest quality guests, to match her lovely property with the clientele she deserves.

My husband and I stumbled upon this property while planning a trip to the nearby Cinque Terre. We wondered if it was too good to be true, but the whole experience lived up to our expectations -- and then some! We had a number of phone and email conversations with Lilia, the proprietress, while planning the details our trip, who was always prompt, friendly and exceedingly accommodating. As we did not have a car during our stay, Lilia and the other members of her family were so generous is providing us transportation to and from the local train station every day -- even coming to a station thirty minutes away to pick us up on the day of our arrival so that we could take a direct train from Milan rather than having to transfer. Upon arrival, Lilia had baked fresh bread, prepared a plate of cheese, and gave us a sample of their own honey. One of the things I loved most was being able to sample the fruits of their labors -- honey, wine, olive oil, and garden vegetables, all extremely reasonably priced. Most nights we took advantage of Lilia's offer to cook dinner for us; all the dishes were simple and delicious, prepared lovingly, and a real bargain. We stayed in the Acacia apartment (it is worth noting that there are multiple units in the guesthouse, and Lilia provided lots of photos of each one available so that we could choose which one to stay in), which is the one featured on this site; the property was constructed just last year, so everything is new and clean, with lots of attention to detail and style, just as pictured. We were totally bowled over! Lilia provided lots of ideas for local day trips. As it turned out, we weren't a huge fan of the Cinque Terre, and Lilia was expert in suggesting other towns to visit, local restaurant recommendations, and area sites that the guide books don't tell you about. Lilia and her family seemed genuinely concerned with providing us a positive experience, and in getting to know us as people, without being intrusive. The only thing to note is that Framura is a bit removed from the Cinque Terre is you don't have a car. However, as I mentioned, Lilia and her family were very willing to ferry us to the train station, and it didn't impact our stay at all. In fact, we really appreciated the seclusion and quiet that the property offered -- I haven't slept so well in years! This is a truly special place, and I hope we have the chance to stay here again.

Owner response: Dear Elizabeth and dear Maikael, it was a really nice experience to have you as guests! to meet people is the nicest part of our work, especially when we meet nice people!Framura is a village not so famous as the Cinque Terre, but so beautiful and special that 10 years ago it convinced us to live here. We have completely changed our life style. Still now, after such a long time, when in the morning I open my windows, I am moved by all this beauty. Beauty and harmony, silence and unspoiled nature really helped us to improve the quality of our lives, as much as the station and the exit of the motor way and the precence here in Framura of the all sort of facilities that everyone needs. I hope to see you again in Italy and to have the possibility to take care of you and of your child as a grand mother does. My daughter Giulia as well and my husband Guido send you a big hug! happy to know that you like my food, because you are " a cooking with heart person", I hope in the mean time to improve my English, to better express my soul. Ciao e grazie ancora! Lilia

After wandering around Europe for 2 months on a pseudo-working vacation (and using vrbo.com for the entire thing).. I was honored to stay with Lilia and Guido for one of my last weeks in Europe. And, equally honored that I'm the first to review their amazing rental. Without any previous reviews.. it felt like kind of a risk as the listing honestly sounded too good to be true. A relatively secluded farm close to it all, yet completely organic. Not to mention, on top of the goodies they give you to welcome you.. they sell organic red and white wine, honey, olive oil, and other items all reasonably priced. They also have whatever vegetables are in season.. such a treat. Lillia made dinner several nights, and if I had any fix for local amazing Italian food.. she quickly satisfied them ten fold. Her homemade pizza was still lingering in my dreams that night! Cinque Terre is about a 15 - 20 minute drive, and Portofino perhaps 20 - 30. But, being right in between has such advantages. Framura itself is a beautiful small town. Lilia was ready with advice and help, and she was spot on every time. While they are ready and willing to pick you up from the train station, I would recommend renting a car as the drive is not to be missed. The whole coast is tantalizing, and to go at your own pace is the way to do it. (We got our car in Venice for 18 euro a day). So, to sum it up.. the separate house they have built for guests is top notch, completed only late 2010/early 2011. It is beautiful, everything is clean and your hosts are some of the nicest people in Italy. The WIFI works flawlessly to boot. I would return again for Lillia's cooking alone. :)

Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 1940

About the owner: I am 50 years old and I live in a beautiful small village in Liguria called Framura, next to Cinque Terre, with my husband Guido, my daughter Giulia andour 3 dogs. About 7 years ago we built our house here and I decided to leave my job and start a new life keeping more in touch with nature. Nowadays we grow vegetables and we make honey, wine, and olive oil in a peaceful and unspoiled envairoment, with a particular attention to preserve our tradition. We have also built a completely ecologic guest-house to host people who loves sea and sun and choose a relaxing holiday in this wonderful area.

                  Why the Owner Chose Framura:
I had inherited this property by my grandparents and my husband and I built here our own house in 2003 when we decied to leave the town where I was born to raise our daughter in a more peaceful and uspoiled environment. Tow years ago we started building our new guesthouse, which is now finished, becuse we wanted to share the peace of this beautiful place with other people and we have chosen to build a house in wood, with solar and photovoltaic pannels so as to respect nature as much as possible. I absolutely love living here in fact this place is remotless from the crowds as well as easy to reach and walking around in the village it is still possible to fell the traditional italian welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

The Unique Benefits at this Bed And Breakfast:
The decision of moving here has completely changed my way of life and my relation with nature. Here my husband and I started making wine, olive oil and honey as well as growing our own vegetables. Here we discovered what silence and moonlight really are and we forgot the stress remembering how to fell happy about a new flower growing in our garden.
