  This house is perfect! The layout of the home is great, all of the furnishings are lovely and it is well maintained with clear attention to detail. This is the 2nd year my family has stayed at this house, and we love it. The house has a beautiful lanai with great outdoor furniture, so you have a great time inside and outside. There are also many pool toys and beach toys, so you can get started right away with enjoying everything Florida has to offer!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

  We absolutely loved this place. House was clean, pool was great. We walked to beach almost everyday. Great restaurants nearby and the house had a great kitchen and gas grill for cooking in. We hope to make it back someday.

  My two sisters and their husbands vacationed with us and we all had a great time. The house is just as it is pictured. It was a little chilly when we first arrived so we didn't get to use the pool until a few days later, but when we did it was great. One sister and her husband were up early and out on the dock and saw a manatee. The experience was very good for us and would recommend this vacation home to anyone wanting a good location and a nice place to stay. In the general location we would recommend the Fish House, South Beach Grill and Mel's Diner to eat and the Holiday Inn Tiki Bar by the beach is a happening place to go watch the sunset.

  I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a home away from home in Ft. Myers Beach. First, Carol, the homeowner, was a pleasure to work with--she explained everything perfectly and was great at keeping in touch. The pictures provided on the VRBO site were extremely accurate. There were no surprises and the house was as beautiful as I expected. The house has very modern amenities--washer and dryer, dishwasher, central AC, wifi, pool (which was very nice!), coffee maker, and the fridge had an ice maker (although, we had a bit of trouble with the ice maker and it started crushing all the ice instead of cubing it). We took advantage of all of these comforts. Also, there were already some essential basics such as condiments, cooking spices, coffee, coffee filters, toilet paper, and paper towel when we got there which was nice. Although, I'm not sure if those are kept in supply by Carol or if they are just leftovers from previous guests. The location of the house was great. There were two bikes in the garage that made it really easy to get to local stores and the beach. The closest beach is down the road that the house is on, across the street, and down a little path. CVS about a 5 minute bike ride away. And while we didn't take the bikes to Publix, I imagine it wouldn't be longer than a 15 minute bike ride. We also rented a car and were able to drive into the busier parts of town in a very short amount of time. My only complaints would be that ice maker (very minor!), the beds were a bit too firm for our liking, and we weren't aware of the checkout time. To catch our flight, we planned on leaving at 10:30am and the cleaning crew came at 10am. We were about 90% ready to go anyway, so it wasn't an inconvenience to leave a few minutes early. Perhaps we just missed it, but to my knowledge, we weren't provided with a checkout time.

  Couldn't have been better! Home is just as pictured, clean, bright, airy. 80+ degrees every day and we didn't need AC; nice breeze kept house cool. Pool was perfect, with nice paved deck around it. Pool temp was nearing 85 when we left so it might be time to turn off the solar heating. Easy walking distance to a bit of shopping, several great restaurants, hair/nail salon(s), beach. Beach is very wide so it never felt crowded. Public transportation (trolley) was readily available, easy to use, inexpensive. Our only regret is that we didn't act quickly enough to book for next year. Recommended to anyone who wants a home away from home that is better than home!

  Our family stayed during Christmas holidays and the house is beautiful. The pool was great as was the location. Everything you need is there - fantastic for anyone! The owner was amazing - she was so helpful and very good at responding to any questions we had. Would recommend this house to anyone!

  We had a wonderful time at the Pink Mermaid, The house was as beautiful in real life as in the photos and was quite spacious and comfortable for 4 adults and 2 young boys. The gourmet ktichen was an invitation to stay in and cook. The pool, deck, dock and all the amenities were thoroughly enjoyed by my young grandsons as well as the adults I would definitely recommend this home and hope to return in the future.
