My husband, daughter and I absolutely fell in love with this cabin! It's been a few weeks now since our stay and we still miss it everyday. From mornings spent drinking coffee out on the deck (which is surrounded by swaying pine trees) to nights spent relaxing on the uber-comfortable couches in the living room. From the laundry/game/yoga room downstairs to the well stocked (cooking/utensil-wise) kitchen. This cabin had everything we needed and more. If you're looking for a quiet, cozy getaway in a great community...this is it! It's about a one-hour drive to Yosemite from the cabin, making it a great "base camp" to return to after long days hiking the park's arduous yet very-rewarding trails. And since the area's water comes directly from the Hetch Hetchy reservoir, it is very pure and clean, leaving your hair feeling amazing after a hot shower. (Yes, I may just miss that the most. Haha.) All in all, we hope to return for another stay very soon! :)

This is a terrific little place, not remotely fancy but extremely CLEAN and comfortable. Lots of thoughtful amenities, from games and guitar to shampoo. It's at a super-hot elevation in summer, but the A/C takes good care of that situation. Very convenient if your plan is to visit either Hetch Hetchy or Yosemite Valley. Nice to have a good supermarket nearby. We were able to do our adventuring during the day and return to comfort and lack of crowding (Yosemite Valley was SO crowded), cook a meal, have family fun, wash dirty clothes and towels in the laundry downstairs. What an affordable way to have a great vacation. My favorite part: Sitting on the deck, smelling the woodsy scent of Ponderosa pine and looking across to the mountain beyond--unobstructed view with no houses. Also love how the cleaning fee allowed us to leave dishes in sink, sheets on bed. Way to vacation! Less favorite: There were some worrisome communication problems with the owner, but once those were worked out, she couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. The bed in the bedroom was too soft and slidey for me, causing back problems. But this might well not be a problem for others. We liked the cabin more than we liked Pine Mountain Lake, which had a lot of restrictions. You can only swim in a couple of roped-off areas, which were crowded, so silt was kicked up and the water was really dirty and unpleasant. You can only fish in a couple of spots and the fishing rentals are worked so that you have to rent for two days to get one session at the best fishing time, early evening. Walking feels more suburban than nature-y. No parking for renters on weekends at the marina, where all the fun stuff is, and the walk from street parking can be a hot half-mile-plus each way. Pool hours restricted for renters and you need to bring your own gear to use the archery range. Horseback riding is better in Yosemite than at PML; the kayak rental was fun, though. This place might be more suited to families with young children than our teenage kids. My advice would be to avoid weekends when there are more restrictions, it's way more crowded and the rental prices are higher. Things were more pleasant on weekdays. If PML is where you want to head, I can't imagine a better deal than this little cabin.

Owner response: Thanks for you feedback. I did look into the 'softness' / slidiness of the bed. We removed the mattress soft pillow cover and plastic mattress protector. I believe this was causing the slidding. It is a 'medium' firmness. I will call that out for folks that may have back problems-- upstairs mattresses are all firm.

A lot of house for the price. Great location, I like the town of Groveland. Closer to Hetch Hetcy than Yosemite Vally. I would definitely stay here again.

We are three adults that stayed at the cabin during the first week of July. The cabin is as advertised: clean and comfortable with all the amenities. It was scorching hot during the day, but the large AC unit did a good job of keeping the place cool. A beach and pool were close bye. Gas BBQ worked well. The location was very quiet and beautiful. At night on the deck all you can hear is the sound of the wind moving in the trees. We didn't turn on the TV at all, but there was an Xbox and I believe some movies. There was a great selection of board games. Plenty of room for a large family. It was less than an hour to Yosemite park and an amazing hiking experience. Overall, highly recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised to see what great condition this cabin was in when my wife and I arrived. It was a very well needed vacation away from the kids. I am not a big outdoors kind of guy but love the atmosphere. Quite, peaceful, the smells of the forest is just like a dream. We took advantage of the horse stables not far from the cabin. I haven't went horseback riding since I was in the 5th grade. So fun. We did some swimming in the lake and even did the paddle boat. I love the deck and the bottom floor had a great room where we able to do some yoga. The loft was neat and we will be back and maybe with the kids....NA!!!! Thank you Carlos for being easy to work with and very imformative. Your right, the town was great. See you again real soon

Hi All, My family and I (4 total) vacationed for 3 days at this property. It was a great 3 days. A short drive away from the Bay Area, you can totally escape the hustle and bustle by staying here. The property is very comfortable, clean, and very functional. No problems at all with the stove, fridge, heat/air conditioning or plumbing/showers! Major Pro's are : Roomy, furnished, and the back deck! You can bbq, and eat all meals (weather permitting) out there. Very quiet and serene setting. If you are a golfer, the course on the property is a must play course. Very beautiful, and not too difficult or unfair. You can get to Yosemite in a short time and distance from the property. I highly recommend staying at this property.

Absolutely charming rustic cabin! Very easy to get too and we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The cabin was very clean/ well maintained and found it very spacious for 4 adults and two 3 kids. There were plenty of board games, DVD player, and satellite TV for added entertainment. But honestly, with the beautiful scenery all around us, we hardly watched TV. We spent most evenings outside on the deck, drinking wine and watching the sunset (tons of deer running around too). So, grab some tasty beverage and cheese and put your feet up and relax! Highly recommended!
