Our group (4) was here for Strugis week. We were able to park all 4 of our Harleys in the garage. We found the place in excellent condition and we are coming here again 2013 for bike week...What does a group of guys say about a place to stay, well the price is ok and we don't have spouses to complain about anything..Loved the back deck, we cooked steaks and drinked good booze, weather is great up in Terrys Peak, nice cool evening..Any ladies going to be in the hood during bike week, stop by for a drink..Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

The property is exactly as pictured, so there were no surprises. In fact, I think it's actually nicer than the photos. There was plenty of space for our group to spread out. The wrap-around porch is lovely, with many areas to sit and relax. The kitchen was well-stocked with supplies and equipment (all you need to bring is your food), so this cook was pleased. Beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. We were worried about the hot water situation after reading a previous review, but everyone managed to get hot showers each morning without problems. The location is wonderful - very close to Lead/Deadwood, but up on Terry Peak near the ski area. It was so very quiet and peaceful. Even though we arrived on the last day of rally week and the neighborhood was quite populated with bikers at other cabins, we never heard them. In fact, it was so quiet we had many good opportunities to view deer as they roamed the woods. There's a hiking trail quite near to the property that I wish we'd had more time to explore. On the night we arrived, the power went out - my husband called the property owner and he looked into the problem for us and called us back right away to let us know what he found out from the electric company. (This didn't impact our stay too much as it was very close to bed time anyhow - we found candles in a drawer and had an "authentic" log cabin experience instead. Just wanted other renters to know that the property owner is quite responsive.) The cabin is a good jump-off point to enjoy Lead/Deadwood, and the rest of the Black Hills. We spent one day doing Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, and Wind Cave and then spent another doing Deadwood, the Air Museum in Rapid City, and a drive through Spearfish Canyon on the way back. Many sights to see in the area, but it sure was nice to return to the peace and quiet of the cabin at the end of the day.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

All went well. The cabin was as described and was clean and well maintained. Well stocked kitchen. Nice location. The only negative was that the water heater ran out of hot water quickly.Recommended for: Sightseeing.
