Large LOG HOME sitting on the ridge looking out to beautiful Columbine Lake. Upon arriving the hardest thing to decide is what to do first. A quiet walk around the lake to see if the Moose or Deer are feeding, Going into town to stroll down the wooden boardwalks, taking a snow mobile ride from the near-by rentals, fishing, hiking, golfing in the summer, cross country skiing in the winter, down hill skiiing in the winter. Driving into Rocky Mountain Natl. Park to watch the Elk buglling, grabbing a sled or tube and sledding down the road. Summer or winter, sitting on the large deck and looking at the snow capped mountains having fun with friends and family is heaven on this earth.
Our home will sleep 8-10 very comfortably. Large kitchen to prepare meals where everyone can join in and be together. The beds are new and comfortable, the bathrooms have the amenities you will need and the showers are great.

Our family desired a beautiful location and home to enjoy a family retreat together. We have married and single children who live across the U.S. We wanted everyone to have a bed to sleep in, leaving the living areas open for fun and fellowship. This was a perfect choice! The bedrooms were spacious and beautifully furnished; I felt like I was a guest in a very gracious home! We found everything we needed, including a pack-n-play for the infant. Everything is new (appliances, furniture, bedding, decor), and comfortable. The dishes and decor are whimsically Rocky Mountain. Our family found the home clean and ready for guests. We spent more time outside than inside, due to the gorgeous location and inviting outdoor spaces. The owners are easily accessed and responsive by email, and have local representatives readily available, should a need arise. (We encountered no additional needs.) Our family enjoyed the one mile walk around the local lake every day, and saw a bull moose, a very tame red fox, deer and an osprey who seemed to guard the lake from his top-of-the-tree perch. A black bear was seen nearby while we stayed, but was not considered a threat, just a sought-after amusement. We were disappointed that we never caught sight of him! We hiked from Grand Lake trail heads to Adams Falls, Cascade Falls, along the East Inlet Trail Head, and in Arapaho National Forest. We also made the challenging drive over the Trail Ridge Road to Estes Park to enjoy shopping and sightseeing there. The hiking was tremendously enjoyable, and there are trails for nearly every ability. Our family did some gold-panning in the local streams. Everything we needed and wanted to do was close and easy to get to. We recommend the Grand Lake Chocolate Factory and Ice Cream as a 'don't miss' stop. The local grocerers were very friendly and accommodating, if a bit expensive. (Understandable considering their location.) I would wholeheartedly recommend renting this property! We will hope to return, if we can keep our family from growing too quickly and outgrowing the accommodations. There is plenty of room for a crowd, but small groups will enjoy it every bit as much as larger ones! It was difficult to leave the beauty and comfort of this mountain home. Relax and GO THERE!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Beautiful log home in an amazing setting, even better than the pictures. Perfect for a family gathering with lots of bed space and bathrooms. The owner was great in helping us arrange our stay, and communicating with us all along. The house is decorated in a delightful "moose" theme and is well taken care of. It was one of the highlights of our trip. My favorite memory will be coffee on the deck, overlooking the lake on a blue sky morning, surrounded by mountains. It doesn't get any better.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Thank you Lana, for the great New Years Eve week. Your home is breathtaking inside and out! Awsome views of the lake and mountains, We were able to see the Fire Works show on Grand Lake from the deck. Beautiful interior. It is prepared with so many things to entertain a family and more than enough necessities for cooking. It is spacious and comfortable. A wonderful house for a family reunion. We hope to rent from you again in the future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: I am blessed when peoplel enjoy our home as much as we do. We want people to make lasting memories for many years to come. It was never our intent to rent our home so when I know they take home a piece of the beauty of our Colorado it makes it worth it.
