Everything was exactly as advertised. We really enjoyed our stay. I was surprised by how quiet the neighborhood was in the evening. The Casita is conveniently located to so many areas of San Diego but was extremely comfortable to just relax.

First trip to San Diego and this place delivered Although the room is a studio, it seems huge!. Very nice bed and balcony with ocean views abound. Very nicely located between a lot of different San Diego Attractions. The drive everywhere seemed relatively short. Also loved the off the street garage parking and hot tub!

Thank you so much for sharing your vacation home with us! It was absolutely the best vacation we have had, not only did we get married and enjoy our honeymoon in San Diego, it was your vacation home that really made our vacation absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much Scott! We definitely will be back! There are no words that can describe how happy we were there! We have literally no complaints!!! It was a five star stay all the way around.

Great little getaway! Perfect amount of space, stocked with everything you should need. Double bonus to have a garage for your car! Adorable little patio with hot tub and great rooftop patio with a fabulous view! Just a short, leisure walk to town/ocean beach. The owners had many recommendations of places to eat, which were all a hit. Tons of movies and entertainment!

This was my Second stay at he Casita as my first was simply amazing ! I`m from the Long Island ,NY area and was hit by Hurricane Sandy ...Lost power for 9 days not to mention a car accident,So a stay in San Diego was much needed and just had to be at the Casita , very relaxing home away from home feeling . Thanks Scott for allowing me to stay once again :)

I want to start out by saying this was a wonderful honeymoon for my husband and I. The Casita was very private and we never had any problems being alone. Which was fantastic! We didn't even meet Scott (the owner) until our second or third day staying here. Having a garage to ourselves with an opener was in my opinion fantastic. The balcony has great views of the ocean and falling asleep on the hammock is a must. The only thing that was a slight bother was the airplanes constantly flying by over head, but I here that most of San Diego is like that anywhere you go. Also, we bought stuff to make margaritas and the margaritaville did not work. We had to really play with it to get it to do anything. The outside shower was also fabulous! Used it everyday after the beach. And the washer and dryer are located conveniently right next to it so you can just throw your clothes right in there. It was really nice having boogie boards there as well. (Although we seemed to miss the good waves almost everytime) I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great romantic stay together. Or anyone who loves the beach. Just make sure you leave enough time to clean up the morning you leave, because we didnt have time and got charged a small cleaning fee. :)

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Myriah, Thank you for the review and for choosing the Casita for your Honeymoon. I have added a traditional blender to the Casita because the Margaritaville blender can be complicated. Otherwise we were glad to hear that you two had a great time and were very comfortable in the Casita. Best of luck in the future. Sincerely, Scott

Just back from a 4 night stay at the Casita - so glad we chose to stay here! We couldn't get a full week, so stayed at the Hyatt Mission Bay for a few nights, then moved here. Exactly as described and all arrangements were flawless. It's located in a quiet residential neighbourhood - at first we thought we'd rather be closer to the beach but decided it was actually better up the hill. The view is spectacular - saw the fireworks from SeaWorld on the first night while dining on the rooftop patio! Scott and Dania gave us great recommendations and were gracious hosts. Our kids had the time of their lives bodysurfing and boogie-boarding on the beach down the hill (boards & skimboards, beach chairs & cooler were at the house). We got hooked on Auzucar, a Cuban style patisserie on Newport - best coffee, amazing pastries. There are many good local markets, including a Trader Joe's so it's easy to pick up groceries or snacks. On the day we checked in, we drove down to the Cabrillo Monument State Park, Point Loma ($5 car) - fantastic views, historical lighthouse, interpreter programme & tidepools. We'd come back to Ocean Beach & the Casita in a heartbeat!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Vikki, thanks for the review! Yes, Azucar is an awesome OB Cuban style patisserie. We were so happy to discover this diamond as well. TJ's is one of our go to grocery stores as well and we can't recommend spending the 5 dollars to gain entrance to Cabrillo National Monument enough! Actually the pass is good for 7 days so guests can enjoy it over and over, especially recommended for sunsets and the tidepools during low tide. Can't take credit for the skimboard. One of our gracious guests donated that earlier this summer for future guests!

My husband and I were in San Diego for a wedding on Sunset Cliffs. We did not rent a car, so the bikes that the Casita offered were helpful in getting around OB (we def. got a work out getting back up the hill!) We enjoyed days lounging in the hammock, and nights in the hot tub! It was also great to have laundry available for our use. Everything was clean and in order, and the bed was super comfortable! Scott was EXTREMELY helpful and available with any questions we had. We would highly recommend the Casita to anyone visiting Ocean Beach, San Diego!

Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Jessica, Thank you for staying at the Casita and for the great review. I have to say that I was very impressed with you two getting around solely on the bicycles. I know that the hills can be challenging. Hope to see you two back in SD in the future! Sincerely, Scott

My husband and I booked a 4 night stay to celebrate our anniversary. This was the first time we've ever tried a vacation rental instead of a hotel, and it was a fantastic experience! The place is truly as advertised and well kept. Another reviewer said that you can tell the owners take pride in their property, and I agree with that statement. The rental was stocked with basics in the kitchen and bathroom and various "little touches" that made the stay more comfortable. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The only suggestion I would make to the owner is to maybe replace the shower head with something more powerful.... but I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to water pressure. The shower got the job done but took some time rinsing off all the sand and sunscreen. We had wonderful views of the ocean, and the city lights looked beautiful at night. We didn't take advantage of the hot tub, but I can attest that it's there! A nice gas grill made it possible for us to make our own dinners a couple nights and save the money on dining out. We spent most of our days on the beach and didn't explore too much, but the central "downtown" area of Ocean Beach is charming and full of surf shops, antique stores and restaurants. There is also plenty of free parking on the beach. We drove down from Northern California, so we had our own car and were able to park it in the garage at all times. It made it very convenient to be able to come and go and not worry about the parking situation. One night we walked to the downtown area, which took about 20 minutes on foot. However, the neighborhood is on a huge hill and it was a painful trek back. :-) All in all, a wonderful week! We were sad to leave! We'll definitley keep it in mind for the future.

Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Talia, we are so happy that your first VRBO rental was Casita de 7 Palmeras and that it was an enjoyable experience! We get a lot of compliments on the bed, which is a California King Simmons Beautyrest Sateen. Bed aficionado's know that this truly is one of Simmon's best mattresses. We are currently looking for an "old school" shower head that is not restricted to 2.5 GPM. Thank you for the great review!

My girlfriend and I debated whether to stay in a condo or hotel in San Diego. We decided on the Casita de 7 Palmeras, and it was the right choice. We were looking to get as authentic of an experience as possible during our time in San Diego, and the location of Casita was perfectly-suited for it. It's located in an extraordinarily scenic residential neighborhood of Ocean Beach, so there are no hotels or resorts to speak of. What the neighborhood does have is an extensive, eclectic mix of independent restaurants, shops, and bars. It was incredibly refreshing to be able to avoid corporate franchises. Be sure to check out the Ocean Beach Farmer's Market on Newport Ave, Wednesdays from 4-8pm. Everything in this description held true, and then some - they even had a bottle of wine waiting for us in the kitchen! We had a rental car during our time in San Diego, for which this property was INCREDIBLY conducive with its two-car garage. The yard was well-maintained and the hot tub was perfect - we used it every night. We loved grilling and eating out on the roof - the view from the roof is spectacular. We also appreciated the media center and enormous collection of DVDs right there in the room. Scott & Dania were so kind and accommodating. They live in a house adjacent to the property, so they are accessible yet unobtrusive. They truly went above and beyond to ensure that we had a fantastic stay, and they were successful. Thanks for a great San Diego experience!

My husband, 8yr old daughter and I stayed here in the Spring. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Casita. We really liked the quiet neighborhood of Point Loma Heights. It was so conveniently located near Ocean Beach - about a 5 minute drive. Or you can even ride a bike (provided on the property) to the beach. It is a very private property and the owners respected our privacy. They are a very friendly couple who we met on our last day. Our stay was so pleasant and comfortable that we wouldn't hesitate to come back and stay again. All the amenities and tasteful interior was better than expected!

The pictures look exactly the way it is. It's in a great location on top of a hill. There is a panoramic unobstructed view of the ocean and coastline. The walk downtown is great exercise! Sunset cliffs is just a short drive away where the sunsets are fantastic. Scott is an unbelievable host - very helpful, pleasant, willing to do some research for the things you want to do. The jacuzzi was awesome at night. The bed was really comfortable. The condo was spotless upon arrival. We can't say enough good things about vacationing here and will recommend it to family and friends.

The casita is a wonderful place to stay. It has a beautiful large spacious room with views of the oceanside. The large King bed is very comfy and cosy! There are lots of towels. The fridge has staples such as ketchup, mayonnaise salad dressings etc...The neighbourhood is funky and friendly. The owner, Scott is delightful and very helpful. He has given much care to his rental facility and will be around if you need help. He has listed restaurants and sights in his binder that are close by. The casita is a wonderful place to come home to after a day of adventure. It also has a hot tub to relax in after a day of touring. There is a large TV and plenty of movies to choose from including a wii if you have young children. It is on the second floor so it would not be suitable to those who are not able to navigate a set of stairs. We will be back!!! Thank you Scott!

My wife and I loved every second of our stay here! We already had high expectations based on the pictures and reviews of others, but they really don't do this place justice. The views are unbelievable, the location is fantastic and very convenient, and the property is comfortable and set up to ensure you have a great time. Morning coffee on the deck while overlooking the Pacific is a great to start to every day, and coming home to a huge hot tub, fire pit and grill to watch the sunset is even better. Scott was very friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, and believe me, he's thought of everything you'll need to make your stay a great one. Not only would I recommend Casita De 7 Palmeras, I cannot wait for our return visit!

Not every rental place looks the same as the photos. This is what you hope for. It's a really great place in a nice old neighborhood, very close to good Ocean Beach restaurants and all the San Diego attractions. Congenial owners, lots of privacy, comfy bed, view, easy parking, loads of technology, DVD library all contribute to a wonderful week (we had a small problem with network speed but most guests would probably not notice.) We're birders, walkers, and found so much to enjoy nearby, walked many, many miles and will happily return. Not what one could call a 'cook's kitchen' but all the basics are there and who wants to cook on vacation?

I must preamble this review with this: AFTER a horrendous VRBO rental in LA, this place was a truly welcomed and awesome sight and experience. The rental is as nearly perfect for two romantic adults as you can get. Very private and excellently appointed apartment over your own garage to securely park. It has a good ocean and bay view from the rooftop patio with dining table, spotless BBQ grill, amazing King bed, couches and chairs. Actually the whole place was spotless. We were welcomed with a comp bottle of wine and access to hundreds of CD's and DVD's for the excellent entertainment center. WE loved it. Location is also excellent very near Seaworld, SD Zoo, Old town, Airport and downtown. The only issue in the apartment was the small breakfast table and stools. Since it was cool, we had to eat dinner indoors, and the space was limited.....Extremely MINOR problem. Only outside issue was the airplanes taking off starting at 630am. They were a little loud, but we just started our SD adventure earlier. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My family stayed here in December. The owner was very helpful and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. We loved the view and location. This property is an excellent spot for anyone looking for a place to stay in OB. We stayed there for several days over Halloween 2011 weekend. The studio has it's own entrance and with private garage (w/auto door) so parking a car was a breeze. We found the place to be very clean, very comfortable and the view was amazing! I don't know why anyone would want to stay/pay for a hotel when they could stay here. There were some issues with a new internet/cable service being installed that weekend and the owner went out of his way to figure it out for us! I would definitely recommend this property!

we loved our week at the casita. we were thrilled with everything, the view , furnishings, hot tub, distance from beach. it was our home for a week. best money we have ever spent for a room in san diego. the owner was very thoughtful in his efforts to make the casita comfortable. the casita is stocked with movies, cds, bbq,hot tub, hammock is great, dishes and all kinds of utensils to make your stay easy. the garage is a HUGE plus, i never worried about the truck. the owners were great, they give you privacy. it really is like its your place, nobody but you and your guests. i hope we can get back there again.
