Casa Sombrita is a gorgeous place that sits on top of the world with its own private beach beach and is surrounded by beautiful lush flower gardens. It's a secluded paradise and yet is only 5 minutes from the village of San Pancho which is unique in its non tourist demeanor. Casa Sombrita is a treat and a retreat for any reason at all, be it proximity to activities for a family reunion or privacy for a romantic getaway. It would be hard to capture its beauty in photos, as the views are just plain dazzling. It overlooks the ocean to the south all the way to the bay of Sayulita, and in all other directions it looks out over the dense green tropical jungle that is full of enchanting birdsong. In the evening the place to be for sunset is on the upper 360 degree covered deck with the ever hope of seeing the 'green flash'. As for the house itself, the living area is seamless with the outdoors, as there is a lovely, wide veranda that wraps around most of the house and lush landscaped gardens beyond that. There are plenty of spaces to tuck into with a book, or have a sweet conversation or to simply enjoy the world from the perspective of a two person hammock under a shaded tree with the endless soothing song of the waves. The pizza oven area is yet another source of fun with "make your own pizza" from delicious, organic local ingredients. For active folks who want to explore the ocean, I would recommend surfing and kayaking excursions up and down the coast with tailwind.com and ask for Tamara. The little town of San Pancho offers horse polo three times a week! San Pancho also, has a variety of wonderful restaurants, even including palm covered/feet in the sand types with delicious fare. There's something for everyone. The local food from the family-run fruit and veggie markets, particularly the little market on the left on the way out of town, (just past Entre Amigos Community Center, which is on the right) offers a wide variety of organic produce that rivals California. On Friday mornings in Sayulita (15 mins) is a Farmer's Markets that's not to be missed. Shady and Erik have become friends and would be a wonderful resources and most willing to answer any question or concerns. I have stayed many times in the main house and have spent two winters in their little guest house (which is behind and below the main house) and would recommend (and have) their Casa to anyone at all. With all its amenities, it's one of the loveliest hideaways on the Emerald Coast.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The owners have been dear friends for many years. Their vision of a vacation home has manifested with the most loving attention to beautiful authentic detail. As a guest I felt at home within the house and in the nature around. I stayed in the guest house, perfectly situated by the pool and yet close to the house. I love the circular domed open plan kitchen and living area where we made meals and enjoyed our communal times. The mirador offers breathtaking views and the promise of a refreshing place to hang out when you wish a quiet or more private time. This is a house made with love and you feel it when you are there.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Staying at Casa Sombrita was the most enjoyable experience of Mexican Riviera coastline and jungle views imaginable. My wife and I live in Mexico and all we can tell you is to come and partake of this natural fiesta as soon as possible. You can travel all you want and never find a more beautiful and peaceful environment to soothe your body, mind and soul. All the accommodations are first class and you will lack for nothing. We plan to visit again many times.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A beautiful home, the tranquility only disturbed by the songs of beautiful birds and crash of the waves below. Our week at Casa Sombrita was peaceful and calm, the views of the ocean amazing. Excursions to Sayulita and other surrounding towns was great fun. We cannot recommend this more highly.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I spent three days here and it was like heaven. The property is brand new and custom designed by the owners who have thought of everything. The ocean view is awesome. We literally sunbathed on the roof top. It seemed like it was just outside a small sleepy town. Highly recommended!!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Better than advertised When I saw pictures before my trip, I remember thinking that the actual place couldn't possibly be like that. It wasn't. It was better than the pictures, The house itself is just lovely, very comfortable, with tile and other flourishes to delight the eye (the brick ceiling in the main room is one of the finest architectural features I've ever seen in Mexico). And the patios outside make the most of the amazing hilltop vantage point...just about the best perch for ocean sunsets I've ever seen. I also like the distance from San Pancho wthin a short drive or healthy but very manageable walk, mostly down the beach. But for me the real prize was the private cove and beach on this property, with a friendly surf and good swimming-- you really think you might be cast away with Tom Hanks instead of a long flight of stairs below a pizza oven and cold beer. This is a wonderful place.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Casa Sambrita is breathtakingly beautiful, with gorgeous views of the ocean on the one side, and a luscious green jungle forest on the other. You can choose whether you want to have the wonderful sounds of the ocean waves in your background, or the beautiful, quiet jungle sounds, depending on which side of the house you hang out in! Both felt very healing. I loved the amazing and beautiful private beach, nestled in by cliffs on one side and the ocean on the other. The house itself is very beautiful and comfy, and satisfied all my "get away from it all and relax" needs.I especially loved relaxing in the the hammock up on the rooftop mirador overlooking the ocean - what a view! And then when we (my husband and I) wanted to get out and about and be more social, we would venture to the sweet little town of San Pancho to shop or eat, or to the beautiful public beach, which are both very close by, and easy to get to. All in all, we had a wonderful stay there, and can't wait to go back - hopefully next February!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Casa Sombita is even more breathtakingly beautiful than the pictures here (and those are quite lovely) We found our stay here to be most relaxing and comfortable due to the glorious ambience. The surrounding area of jungle and sea were especially enjoyable from the expansive patios. Great times were spent in the charming town of San Pancho, with many excellent restaurants, as well as other small towns nearby and of course, Puerto Vallarta. Definitely look forward to a return visit..Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Casa Sombrita is astoundingly beautiful and private! We spent 10 wonderful days relaxing and playing there and it was so peaceful! The casa sets on a ridge overlooking the ocean to the west and the jungle to the east, which makes it perfect for whale watching or jungle watching. The lush palms and tropical flowers throughout the property attract parrots, hummingbirds, and an array of colorful butterflies. The house with its verandas, dramatic dome ceiling, extensive artistic tile work and mirador is well-appointed and provides one with a 360-degree view, which is breathtaking. It’s a luxurious setting with little grotto's here and there offering private escapes, and the outdoor pizza oven is just plain fun! The pool is a delight, and the must-do beach experience of San Pancho Beach is within easy walking distance. We look forward to a return visit, and highly recommend Casa Sombrita.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

This place is unbelievable! Secluded, luxurious, and comfortable, with incredible views of both the ocean and the jungle, its own private beach, and all this very close to a wonderful little town with lots of character and great restaurants. It doesn't get better than this. We have such fabulous memories of the sunsets, swimming and body surfing at the private beach, pizza on the patio and fun times in the small town of San Pancho. We look forward to when we can come back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
