Welcome to Puerto Rico: Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport is the major airline hub of the Caribbean, so getting to Puerto Rico is a breeze, pun intended. Oh and one thing, if you’re traveling from within the United States you can leave your passport next to your winter clothes, because a simple government-issued picture ID is all you’ll need. If you are visiting from another country, a passport is required. The Eastern region of Puerto Rico (where is located the town of Loiza) is home to a couple of stellar natural wonders of the world, one of which is El Yunque National Rainforest, the only rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. El Yunque is home to a staggering 240 different species. Since Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, the U.S. dollar is the official currency so no need to bring a currency converter. Our first inhabitants date back to 2000 BC and remnants of their culture are still alive in the everyday language and the many indigenous ceremonial parks still in existence.

My family and I go to PR every year. We have stayed in various parts of the island. This place is a gem. The apartment was very nice with more than enough room. Javier is a very nice gentleman The only thing we didn't like was many of the "waterpark" features weren't available during the weekdays. We stayed from Tuesday to Friday and of course they turned on everything Friday. It was not crowded at the time we went and there a lot of pools to choose from. The beach is a pretty far walk and not very swimable, especially if you have little ones. While we were the surf was choppy so that could have something to do with it. It is the second time in this property. Again the apartment was in perfect conditions. All the amenities are clean and maintained. The site is very quiet and nice. Also all the pools, gardens are in excellent conditions. The apartment is located in front of one pool that is like a river. Perfect place for children and adults there are 6 pools and 4 playground parks, tennis court and minigolf station. All pools have zone designated for little children with 3ft depth. Also you have easy access in car to several toruist attractions like El Yunque (rainforest), beaches and Outlets stores.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

The pictures of the Aquatika apartment/condo complex do convey the beauty of the area. It is very well maintained,with very nice pools. The units are pretty new, and Javier's is clean and well outfitted. He is very helpful with advice on the area. Our only complaint about the unit is that the beds weren't very comfortable - one mattress was very soft, and two were pretty hard. You also have to stay 2 weeks to get free internet in the condo (otherwise walk about 5 minutes to the clubhouse). The beach is small, but nice enough for short outings, with chairs provided. Not too many restaurants close by. A rental car is a necessity. Wal Mart is about a 10 minute drive and has everything you need.Recommended for: Families with young children.

Great Spot, Great Owner, Great Vacation. Although Javier, the owner, is still adding the finishing touches to the condo in the way of different wall colors and still using a 3G internet, the overall experience was great. This unit is maybe 50 footfalls from an incredibly kid friendly pool. The grounds are immaculate, friendly travelers and locals alike. Beautiful beach just down the path. Eventhough the town of Loiza is more of a Puerto Rican town than a tourist haven, the location is extremely convenient in that El Yunque is 15 minutes down the road, Loquillo 20 minutes, El Fajardo and the access to Vieques and Culebra (don't skip that trip out) 25 minutes out and Old San Juan 25 minutes the other way. There are also some really great beaches stretching from west of Loiza all the way back to Carolina. Great spot to just sit and relax or as a jumping off point to explore all that eastern Puerto Rico has to offer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.
