  Our stay was a delight. The house is beautifully designed, with a minimalistic, modern and rustic interior. The view of the ocean is spectacular! It's a very peaceful retreat, quiet with calming sounds of the waves. The house corresponds to the listing and was very clean, comfortable, and cozy. It came with great amenities, such as a lovely fireplace, wireless internet, and music players. We would definitely recommend the house!

  Wow, wow, wow, don't hesitate to stay at this stunning place. The host was so kind and responded immediately, was very easy to deal with, made everything perfect, and even left us a bottle of wine. When you rent this place, you don't need to go anywhere because you're already in such a fantastic place of beauty. You hear the water at night, in the day the sun comes pouring in. We could even walk to a diner. There are some places I've rented because they are near a groovy town or museum, but this is the place you rent because you don't even feel the need to leave, you're already in paradise. It really was that nice!

  The house is impeccable and cozy. We loved hanging around on the porch over the water most of the weekend. The location is wonderful for a relaxing trip - we visited a vineyard, had some nice meals out, but really enjoyed our time at the house! Our host was extremely helpful, recommending restaurants and providing everything you'd need for your stay, including dishes, linens, internet, beach towels, etc. Thanks to Nancy- I'd definitely recommend her home!

  Lordship is a great area and the cottage is very nice. The bathroom is great and the deck is even better. We slept so well listening to the waves. It felt like we were on a houseboat. It is clean and the owners were very helpful. The neighbors are friendly and great restaurants within walking distance on water and seawall. We love this area and have rented cottages here before but never had one right on the water. We recommend cottage to all who love the water and beach. So relaxing on deck.

  We absolutely adored the beach cottage! (We wanted to spend time with our family in nearby Westport and also enjoy a place on the water.) You cannot get more "on the water" than this! The cottage deck is directly on the water, providing incredible views and peaceful sounds of the water (and easy access to millions of pretty shells, pebbles, and other beach treasures for our kiddos.) The cottage has been renovated and decorated beautifully in a warm, reclaimed-minimalist style, making it the antidote to every schmaltzy beach cottage overstuffed with pastel knick knacks. The area was extremely quiet; we never heard neighbors and enjoyed having the beach to ourselves one morning. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating, especially when our travels plans went awry. We would definitely stay again and have recommended to friends!

  The property is maintained, very clean and exactly as pictured. The owners were very pleasant to deal with and always answered our emails. Our security deposit was returned within a week of our checkout. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the water flow underneath us. The entire house is very open and the views from each level of the house are amazing. If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, bowls, knives, cutting boards, serving spoons, plates, glasses, forks, etc...and the kitchen sink is huge. Because of the nice breeze that flows through the cottage, the pilot light on the stove sometimes goes out so you have to light it. The only appliances missing are a microwave and coffee maker...we made due without a microwave but did bring our own coffee maker. The local Shoprite is about a 15 minute drive from the cottage. Bring some extension cords because there are not many electrical outlets but WiFi was always working :-)! Our children enjoyed boating, fishing, using a waverunner, walking to Marnicks for ice cream, swimming in the Sound, and playing golf. We would certainly recommend this property to anyone who likes sitting on a quiet beach, hanging with family and friends, and appreciates a small town atmosphere.

• Amazing Place

  "Who knew this was here?!” was the most common response from local friends and family who came to visit while I was vacationing for two weeks in this spectacular home on the quiet, secluded beaches of Stratford, Connecticut … Visiting from Los Angeles, I chose the spot for it’s central location between NYC and my family in CT. The home is immaculately clean, exquisitely decorated and the perfect spot for relaxing, kayaking, biking, running, and entertaining small groups of friends. Sunny days on the deck, falling asleep to the sound of the ocean, and even stormy days made for a good excuse to get cozy and light a fire. The homeowners, Nancy and Matt, are so nice and easy to work with – even from across the country. And, the house is equipped with everything you may need, including Internet, grill and a French press for coffee (a personal favorite). The restaurants within walking distance aren’t that great, but OK places to grab a a bite, a drink or socialize bit. If you’re looking for a big nightlife, this isn’t your spot, but if you’re interested in peaceful, serene relaxation time with friends & family, it’s perfect.

  This cottage is perfect for spending quality time with family and small gathering as well;it was awesome to watch the tide moving in and out; I will never forget our stay as we chose it to celebrate our wedding with our closest family and friends; I loved the modern rustic decor- exactly as shown on pictures; Property is well maintained inside and out; Owners are very helpful in answering any questions I had; I would highly recommend this property to whoever need some time off;

  We had a fantastic stay at the house. It is right on the beach which the 3 kids we were with really appreciated. They spent hours collecting rocks and shells, discovering horseshoe crabs(!!), etc. We really enjoyed the house as well. The kitchen is well stocked with spices, sugars, etc and the minimalist but very tasteful decor/furnishing helps you relax from the overcrowded spaces of our own house and city.

  Wonderful cottage right on the water. So peaceful and such a great house. Walk to restaurants in a beautiful waterfront setting. Definitely would stay again. Don't hesitate, this is the place you have been looking for!

  Only one word could describe this house: awesome! Awesome view, awesome designed funiture, awesome minimalist decoration, awesome people (the owner was easy to reach by email and her friend who welcomed us was very nice). The place is like on the pictures, even better! We had a chance to enjoy a gorgeous sunny February day which made the experience unique. The place is very quiet and, at night, you only hear the sound of the waves... It's magic. This place is highly recommended.

  This place is stunning and the owners were absolutely lovely to deal with. They could not have been more helpful and pleasant. They had turned on the heating and prepared the fire. Also, they had pre-arranged for delicious juice, bread, fruit and milk to be on hand. The house is exactly as the photos suggest, if not better. We most definitely highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a amazing weekend away. We have already started planning our return trip to stay there again.

  The owner was amazing to coordinate with. Easy to get in touch, easy going, and on top of things. The beach house is a great getaway for a group of friends... Even in winter! A nice warm shower and indoor fire were perfect after a chilly kayaking expedition. Hope to return sometime in the summer!

  I was lucky enough to live at the beach house for a little over two months, and every day was a wonderful experience. The amazing waterfront view alone was enough to make my stay worthwhile, but the artsy-industrial feel of the interior space made me feel like I was living in the creative mind of an architect. I felt at home right away, with a fully equipped kitchen, cozy bedrooms, and warm wood-burning stove in the living room. A great place to sit back and enjoy the patio view, show off to your friends, or share experiences with your loved ones. This is the perfect space for a weekend getaway (although it might be hard to leave on Sunday), or a more long term adventure.

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  This year I rented the house for the months of August and September. One of the nicest experiences my family and I shared. The house is directly on the beach with great views. It is well maintained and has all the necessities that one needs to enjoy a summer rental. Furnishing are minimal, which makes the upkeep extremely easy. More time to enjoy the beach and the local area. The owners are extremely accommodating. Whenever I contacted them, they responded immediately. There were never major issues. However, every now and then I had a question and/ or special request. I needed certain services as I work from home. They made certain that everything was in order prior to my arrival and during my stay. Overall, I recommend this home highly to anyone that is seeking a vacation experience on the beach.
