Farmhouse and surrounding fields and woods perfect for our annual father-son winter retreat. Great hiking on the property and in nearby state forest, and a wonderful setting for our evening feasts. The farm and its house suited our group of eight men and two dogs nicely, and the owners were most helpful and cordial in all of our contacts.

My family arriving from different states met at this charming farmhouse. We were even able to bring my father who is in a nursing home over for Thanksgiving dinner. The entrance was easy to negotiate. The major drawback was the difficulty getting to the bathroom which was through one of the bedrooms. That bathroom also had the only shower. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes and pots and pans. There is no dishwasher however. The furnishings and beds are comfortable. Having a washer and dryer was a plus. Clean and well maintained property. The areas outside of the house were an asset. We decorated the barn for my granddaughter's birthday. Lots of area to walk off some of the Thanksgiving dinner. We also enjoyed going to the Ommegang Brewery, Baseball Hall of Fame and Rustic Ridge Winery. All were fun. Had pizza in New Berlin. Was hard to choose our favorite pizza. The owners were wonderful to work with. Fast email response and very friendly. Directions were clear.

Our family which consists of 4 grown children and their signigificant others spent a wonderful and relaxing early Thanksgiving at the Farmhouse. The house was exactly as described, clean, well accomodated and very comfortable. We chose the farmhouse due to it being located so close to so many attractions, the breweries, wineries, musuems and the Hall of Fame but than never left the property. We spent our time going for walks on the property, playing games in the super cool barn and preparing terrific family meals in the very well equipped kicthen. We are expecting a grand baby this year and are looking forward to bringing him to farmhouse in the future. This is the perfect house for families with all ages. Thank you to Sharon and Aldo for sharing their property and keeping it affordable so everyone has an opportunity to enjoy it.

my family and I fell in LOVE with this place! It is very clean and decorated incredibly well. Sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee looking into the rolling hills and mountains with it's variety of colors is just simply breathtaking. There is plenty of room outside for the kids to run around and spaced comfortably well for a large family. It has all the amenities you need including cable & wi-fi. Cooperstown is 45 mins away and the kind of town you only see in movies. The kids (and big kids too) loved the Farmers Museum. We look forward to coming back again and again. I can't recommend this beautiful home highly enough.

We loved this house set on a hill amid beautiful farm land. We walked the meadows every day, had picnics and just relaxed! The house is clean and welcoming and the owners were available by phone for any questions. We had a lovely dinner at the Empire Hotel Restauant in Gilbertsville. I definitely want to go back.

My family thoroughly enjoyed staying in this home. The scenery is amazing. It was quiet & peaceful and there was plenty of room to roam outside for the kids & our dog. We enjoyed the mountain views as we had morning coffee on the front porch. The tree swing and hammock were great amenities. The whole farmhouse experience brought back childhood memories of visiting similar houses out in the country where we grew up. The beds slept amazing. Although there was no air condition upstairs, it really was comfortable with the windows open & using the fans. The only thing that I could complain about is the layout of the bathrooms being that the only shower was in the downstairs master bedroom. The tub upstairs was great and we definitely enjoyed soaking in a relaxing bath but for multiple adults/families it would have been nice to have 2 showers. Overall, this was a great experience and we all wished we could have stayed in your house longer. I would recommend this house to families of the Cooperstown Allstar Village players or anyone visiting the area.

What a delight. We shouldn't have been surprised by the place, as it is exactly as billed ------- charming. The first thing that made most of us happy was the sight of the distinctive silos in the nearly night sky. It was not as difficult to find as we had thought it might be. The house, with its two living rooms, spacious dining room, and airy front porch, gave us room enough for four elderly sibs and a few offspring to relax comfortably. The kitchen was fully, and I mean fully, stocked with all sorts of staples. Outdoor chairs and tables were plentiful and comfortable. On Saturday, reunion day, everyone who came to join us expressed delight at the charm and expanse of the place. Most of us grew up on farms, so the barn and accompanying buildings and silos were a special delight. One sister-in-law found the townspeople especially charming. She had a wonderful conversation with a very congenial group of men. Two of the beds are unique in their heights and widths ------ more charm. The stairs were a bit difficult for some of us, but the rental was not offered or touted as handi-accessible. The two bathrooms were okay. We could have used more. All in all, I cannot say enough about this perfect place for a weekend family reunion. We have decided as a family (and extended) to return in two years for our next reunion. Thank you, owners, for a great and memorable vacation. Your "customer service" was above and beyond.

Owner response: Jan, thank you so much for this detailed and wonderful review. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you through the reservation and rental process. Like I wrote in our email conversations, I was filled with excited as your family reunion date approached. We had been communicating for so long, that I felt like I was a part of the reunion myself. I am happy that you and your family were comfortable and happy at the farmhouse. Your family's notes and card to me were very touching...especially your grand-nephews'. I look forward to your next reunion!

We came here for our sons' baseball tournament in Cooperstown. The property is huge and is comprised of beautiful rural farm with panoramic views of the hills. The inside is just like you might imagine a farm house. Rustic but comfortable with the necessary amenities to make your stay care free. The pictures are not as beautiful as the actual house. It is even better than it looks. The owners were very courteous and accommodating. I highly recommend anyone traveling in this area to stay here. It will be one of your favorite memories for years - especially if you are a city slicker like us!

Owner response: Thanks Roger! It was a pleasure dealing with you throughout the rental process. I am very happy that you and your family felt happy and comfortable at the farmhouse. When you arrived and emailed me these few words: "We are here. Absolutely beautiful!" it brought a big smile to my face and to my heart. Thank you for taking those few minutes to write to me. As they say, it's the little things that make a big impact .

Have you ever dreamed of living on a farm without all the work? This is the house, It was so so sweet. It was clean had everything you should need in the kitchen and electronic wise, yet the peace and quiet wrap around you like a blanket. We stayed while my husband raced motorcross about 20 miles away, after the hub bub of the track it was a pleasure to return to cook dinner and walk around the property of this wonderful house. Sharon the pictures of your lovely family made me feel I was visiting a wonderful friend, One thing that I really appreciated was the comfort of the beds. I hope to return with my young nephews and give them the "farm" experience.

Owner response: Ellen, thank you so much for your kind words... "the peace and quiet wrap around you like a blanket" - I've never heard such a beautiful and visual description - I love it! Thank you! It is so rewarding when we hear that our guests experience the comfort and peacefulness that we work hard to ensure. I also hope that you return with your nephews. It has been a pleasure dealing with you. Thanks for staying at The Gilbertsville Farmhouse and for taking such good care of it too!

We just returned from my Daughter's Graduation from Hartwick College and we stayed for 5 day's at this Property Gilbertville farm house and just loved it! It was perfect for all my famiy, grandparents we were a total of 15 and it was enough room for all big kitchen and bed's are so comfortable to sleep in. I really could have stayed longer if I could but had to get back to Dallas Texas where were from. It was a 25-30 min drive to Hartwick or so but was so worth it glad I found this home. The house made our stay so relaxing and enjoyed all the amenities and beautiful views of the country. I would really recomend this home property to anyone looking for a great farmhouse rental big spacious and with beautiful country views. Sharon the owner was alway's just a phone call away belive me when we were just getting there I called just for a few questions on directions and all and she is alway's ready to help or anwser our questions. We also visited Cooperstown and Gilbertville lake and went to the beach there the kids loved it! Now with my daughter already graduated wished I would have found this rental when she just started college instead of staying in city hotels in Oneonta. Hope to return one day just to visit and relax just wished it was not that far from Dallas Texas or I would be here at least a couple of times a year to relax with family.

It is so rewarding when guests like yourself enjoy their time at the farmhouse. Congratulations again to you and your daughter!

Our son was graduating from a nearby college and there were grandparents, aunts and cousins who wanted to attend. We rented the farmhouse for the weekend so there would be enough room for everyone. There were 13 of us and we had a fantastic time! The house is clean, charmingly decorated, the beds are super soft and comfortable and there is a large country kitchen with modern appliances and a great big dining room table in it. The property is huge and the views of the countryside are gorgeous. There is a barn on the property with a large picnic table that everyone loved to hang out in. At night, we lit a fire in the fire pit and sat around and laughed and told stories. You couldn't ask for a better weekend!

Owner response: Thank you, Marie! It is a pleasure to rent our farmhouse to guests like you who take care of it as if it were their own. I am so happy that the Gilbertsville Farmhouse made such a special celebration for your family so enjoyable. Best wishes to your family and to your son!

My family spent a week here in the summer while my son was at baseball camp at All Star Village. It was fantastic. The house is so charming and well kept. It was very clean and it has everything we needed...plates, cups, towels, linens, soap, cleaning supplies, candles, coffee, tea, books to read, some dvd's. It even has a beautiful picnic basket - fully equipped - so I had a picnic with my younger son one lazy afternoon. The front porch is wonderful too. The owners pay attention to every minute detail. That's what makes this house so warm and inviting. It is not bland like most private rentals I have seen. This place has charm and character. The drive to All Star Village was nice and we also drove to Gilbert Lake State Park which has a beach. There is nothing that I needed or wanted that I didn't have. I will definitely stay here again. I would recommend this farmhouse to anyone!

The Boustanis have obviously thought about and provided every detail that makes the farmhouse an exceptional vacation experience. We had the pleasure of staying there for the first time this past summer and we will definitely stay there again. Before we arrived, Sharon told us that everthing we needed would be in the house. I had no way of know how true that was until we arrived. The house is so fully supplied that we found that we had bought certain food staples unnecessarily because they were already in the house. It feels like you are visiting the Boustanis in there own home without them being there. A truly incredible vacation experience. It may sound ridiculous, but I especcially fell in love with the barn...a perfect place to hang out and grill, loung, eat and do whatever in a rustic, romatic setting. Yes, a barn romantic and beautiful.

Over all it was good. The hot water didn't work the first night but they got someone out the next morning to fix it. The sink in the one bathroom had a link. I called the owner and did what he asked me to do. My one dog got some mice killer stuff that was left under the bed but I called to find out the effects and nothing happened to our baby girl thank god. We had our dogs and they loved it out there and the kids had a blast. It was very relaxing. Its what we needed. I can't thank the owners enough for opening their home to my family.

Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Thank you Natty. We are very happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay. Out home is always open to fine guests like yourselves who treat it with respect and care! We spend a lot of time maintaining our lovely vacation home to prevent any inconveniences to our guests. Unfortunately, as any homeowner knows, things do go wrong sometimes and how they always manage to pick the worst times (like when one has guests), I have no clue :) Kidding aside, if any problems do occur, however, we do our best to address them immediately so that our guests' vacation and family time are not disrupted. Natty, I hope that you and your family felt satisfied and valued by our concern and urgency in resolving the problem you alerted us about. Again, thank you for your kind words and for being such wonderful guests. Please visit us again in the future. - Aldo and Sharon Boustani P.S. We are still waiting for those pictures of your girls running in the fields.
