Wonderful, peaceful, relaxing vacation home. Views were spectacular. Listing description was accurate. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend. The property was spotless and welcoming. Had so many amenities, hot tub, fireplace, screened in gazebo by the water. We loved every minute!Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This charming blue cottage was an answered prayer, as we were looking for a place where we could relax after my husband suffered a stroke in July, 2012. When we arrived at the cottage, after an absolutely gorgeous drive, we found a clean, tidy, cozy atmosphere, where we could kick off our shoes and put up our feet. When we first opened the door to the cottage we felt like the seven dwarves when they returned home after a long day at the mine to find that the beautiful and kind Snow White had worked her magic on their home! The sight that greeted us was magical! At that point it was obvious to us that this cottage was not only a house, but a home, and we felt that we had been welcomed with open arms. The downstairs bathroom was spacious and contained a beautiful, large bath, as well as a shower and a washer and dryer, and the beds were comfy and cozy; we had the best sleeps in that little cottage. The bedrooms are situated on the second floor and a cool breeze blew in every night from the lake. The nearby town of Wiarton is as charming a town as you will find anywhere and the residents were extremely kind and helpful. We travelled up the Bruce Peninsula to Tobermory for fish and chips at The Fish Place and ice cream at The Sweet Shop. We also drove to Singing Sands where we saw the most beautiful sunset and when we turned around to head back to the car, we were treated to the most unbelievably beautiful moon I have ever seen! We spent our days hiking the trails of the Bruce, visiting nearby caves, and swimming, and our nights sitting around the firepit on the lake eating s'mores and relaxing in the hot tub. You really must visit, and soon! We highly recomment this property; you will have the most relaxing time of your life! Beautiful! Absolutely Beautiful!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We spent 2 weeks here with our 3 kids (3, 5, and 8) and had an amazing time. We would have stayed longer if we could. The house was nice, well equipped, and clean. We spent a lot of time sitting on the covered porch watching the sun go down, playing badminton on the huge lawn. There is a nice little beach by the gazebo which is perfect for swimming. The water is clear has a nice gradual slope. You do need to cross a road to access the waterfront. The Wiarton/Bruce peninsula area has lots do (beaches, hikes, caves, etc) to keep you busy, but some of our best days we just took it easy and stayed home. We would definitely come back and recommend the place to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend at the Treasure Chest. It is nice authentic, comfortable and spacious home. The hottub with great views over Colpoy Bay and the Niagara Escarpment is fantastic - and the garden is HUGE. The area is beautifull; green, pure nature (don't forget to visit the Bruce Caves Conservation area which is only 1,5 km away). The beach house is a plus, although Colpoy Bay is too cold for swimming early October. But who cares about cold lake water if you have a hottub; imagine sitting in it with only the sound of birds and the wind around you. Finishing off the day with camp fire and marshmallows is the ultimate family holiday dream.....Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We try every year to take a week together with our family. We have over the years had successes and failures. This year we rented this Treasure and we were very happy. It was an excellent location. All paved roads. The accommodations were very well maintained and clean. Every amenity you need when away from home was available here. There were no disappointments at all. Close to town for anything we needed, yet far enough away for a quiet retreat. Lovely lawns to have a game of catch on or sit on the large porch just watching the sail boats go by. There are lots of activities close by if you choose to be busy or relax and enjoy this property.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

The house was all it was described as on the Website. The amenities were superb and the location was brilliant. There was lots of living space and the garden was a delight watching the birds and (small) animals around and about. The cottage was located off the main road with a spectacular view of the lake and the escarpment to the rear o fthe house. The local area is very beautiful and we took trips to Tobermory, Lion's Head and Sauble beach. Also took a trip to Bruce's caves and the trail beyond there. Must remember the insect repellant next time! The shops in Wiarton supply everything you need although there are not too many restaurants close by. The Wiarton Inn was probably the best for 'home' cooking. The barbecue did good service and it was perfect to relax at the end of the day. Because we travelled from the UK we neglected to bring an iron but remedied this by picking one up at the local charity shop for a few dollars. Would definitely recommend to friends and relatives if any were prepared to travel from the UK.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
