This 1300-square-foot cottage is centrally located within the beautiful town of Kanab, Utah. We are proud to offer our unique home for consideration during your stay. Hand-laid rock, an array of Geodes, polished rock, petrified wood, sandstone, and fossils make The Rock Cottage a one-of-a-kind home.
The Rock Cottage sleeps up to six comfortably.
The living room contains a queen-size futon sofa, and our gas stove fireplace will keep you warm on a cold winter evening. Pine-log furniture and hickory hardwood floors throughout add to the warm and cozy atmosphere. The cottage is complete with TV/DVD and satellite television.
Our inviting kitchen makes you feel at home, being fully equipped with all the plates, cups, and cooking utensils that you will need for your stay.

The Rock Cottage is your home away from home in Kanab, Utah is strategically the most central point from which to base, as you explore the world-class scenery found in southern Utah and northern Arizona. When you stay in Kanab you are in the geographic center of Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Lake Powell (Glen Canyon), and the Grand Canyon North Rim. There just is not a better place to stay! Many people come to this area and stay for one or more weeks just to see and experience this region. A hotel just is not sufficient when you can have the comforts of our beautiful Rock Cottage, Large TownHome, or Small TownHome.
Kanab, Utah is well known as a center for many of the western movies created since the 1940s. In fact over 100 Westerns have been made in the Kanab region. Not only will you enjoy seeing Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Lake Powell (Glen Canyon), and the Grand Canyon North Rim, but you also enjoy the following other attractions:
* The Parks... Pipe Spring National Monument, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, and Kaibab National Forest
* The Attractions... Paria Movie Set and Ghost Town, Frontier Movie Town, Denny’s Wigwam, Western Village Shops, Paria Wilderness Area (Slot Canyons), Gunsmoke Movie Set

• There is a local sales/lodging tax rate of 12.15% on each transaction. Credit cards Accepted: Visa,Mastercard, and Discover.
• Upon confirmation of your reservation request, you will be billed in advance to your credit card a 25% deposit with 90% being returnable if the reservation is cancelled 30 days before.
• This charge will be displayed as: "The Rock Cottage" on your CC statement.
• Reservations are not guaranteed until payment has been successfully processed.
• A 3 night minimum is required for advanced reservations beyond 30 days.
• Check In: After 3:00 p.m. / Check Out: 11:00 a.m.
• Smoking Policy: No Smoking indoors, please. Proper containers will be provided outside.
• Cancellation Policy: You will be refunded 90% of your deposit if cancellation occurs 30 days prior to check-in date. If cancellation occurs with less than 30 days notice then the deposit will be non-refundable but may be applied to other available dates.
• Reservations for less than 3 days are welcome upon request. Call for details.
• Pets are not allowed at The Rock Cottage.

We've lived in Kanab for almost 10 years, my husband was born and raised here. We started renting The Rock Cottage in 2003, and then added a couple of other properties.
Why the Owner Chose Kanab
Kanab is beautiful, and is surrounded by beautiful National Parks, and National Monuments. There is so much to see and do. We love the area and we love to share our corner of the world with others!

Great 50th Birthday Week Away!!!

My brother, sister-in-law, wife and I rented the Rock Cottage for a week in Sept 2008 to celebrate my 50th birthday and had a fabulous time here! The cottage is amazing with a perfect location for wandering into town for morning coffee or eating at the Rockin' V (at least twice). We had a few great backyard cookouts also during our week long stay. Our favorite part of the day was early evening having pre-dinner drinks out in the yard watching the sunset and blazing colors coming off the cliffs north of town. The street is very quiet with close proximity to Squaw Trail for a nice in-town hike up to a great overlook. Everything was very clean and comfortable in the Rock Cottage. Also, JoAnn was great to work with and flexible when we had to switch our week a month before arrival. Beside being an obvious great location for visiting National Parks don't forget about the Grand Staircase Monument area just east of Kanab. There is unbelievable hiking in the vast area in the Monument in the Paria River/Hackberry Canyon area and of course the "Wave" near Coyote Buttes (we lucked out and won the a hiking permit lottery to get to see this). I've been coming up to Southern Utah every 2-3 years for 25 years now and this is my favorite area in all the Southwest US.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+.

This was such a unique place! So many homes that you see on VRBO are just a place to stay and in most cases are nice places to stay but this place had such a unique feel. The house is covered in rock from all over the united states and the interior is unlike anything I have ever seen, beautiful and almost magical. Very comfortable pillow top beds, the coolest log pine furniture I've ever seen. The location was awsome, the views were great, it was hard to get my husband to leave the property to go site seeing. JoAnn, the owner, was so nice and great to work with, I realy don't have any complaints, we will be back! Thank you JoAnn!
Recommended for:People with disabilities, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
