We spent a week at the Indigo Pearl and were not disappointed in the least. We wanted something out of the way and quiet, with enough room to relax and not feel cramped. The house fit our needs perfectly and had everything that we needed. We were able to use the bikes to tour the island and take trips into town each day, although the crabs creeped me out the first time we rode back in the dark. We used the dock and the bay everyday, either fishing, kayaking or snorkeling. We were also able to stay connected to our family via the internet, without technology being intrusive. We made Pina Coladas almost every day. They were so refreshing after a hot day in the water. The view from the porch of the house is so incredible and worth the trip all by itself. I took many beautiful pictures of the sun sets and rises. Eddy, the caretaker and Chano picked us up at the airport and took us to the Chinatown Market to purchase a few things before taking us to the house. They could not have been nicer or more helpful with our few requests. We really liked them, as well as every other local on the island. The people are just so warm and friendly. We took a sailing/snorkeling trip with Raggamuffin tours, with Jacob and Rob as our guides. It was a fantastic day and they were both a lot of fun and full of information about the area. We highly recommend them. We also took a river cruise to the Lamanai Mayan site on the mainland with Tsunami Tours that was fun. We have been to other Mayan sites in the past, so we liked the river cruise part a little more. The day was fun though, although very hot. One day we went to Ambergris Caye on the little plane and while we are glad we went so we know what is there, we were so very happy to get back to the peaceful, wonderful quiet of the yellow house. We are happy we decided to stay on Caye Caulker, as that is a lot more our speed. We did a lot of snorkeling and we ate at some wonderful restaurants on the island. Wish Willy's and Rose's will cook your catch for you and then charge you only for the sides. They both do a wonderful job. Amor y Cafe has a great breakfast, but they close around noon. Sandros is a fantastic Italian restaurant on the island. The owner is from Milan, so it is authentic Italian. You will not go hungry on Caye Caulker. We are so happy we found the Indigo Pearl and would love to visit over and over again. It was hard to leave. Thank you for sharing your piece of Paradise with us. We are ready to go back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I shared 8 nights with a couple of house geckos and warm ocean beezes. Eddy the maintenance guy was far more than that. He was a source for fishing, dining, boating, tarpon feeding, taxi's, etc. We loved the remoteness of the property with the ability to be on main street in 15 minutes. Evening walks as the sun set were very romantic. Mornings I spent kayaking in our private cove, fishing my way around and catch many small barracuda. I also would snorkle there as I waited for the freshening breezes to awaken my wife. They trip was not perfect however, it should have been longer....Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were looking to stay somewhere off the beaten track and the Indigo Pearl fit the bill. This home was in a great location on the SW end of the island at the end of the trail. Totally off the grid the home ran on solar and wind power with gas appliances. Views from the 2nd level let you enjoy both the sunrise and sunset. We loved being right on the water and mangroves!! We had a few challenges during our stay but they only added to the adventure. The caretaker Eddy went the extra mile to help us complete our stay after serious resource issue. Eddy also came to our rescue at the end our stay when we locked the keys to our golf cart in the house when readying to leave the island…with only minutes to spare Eddy cycled in to our rescue to unlock the door and we made it to the water taxi with no time to spare to make our flight out of Belize. We rented a golf cart for the week from Buddy’s rentals (set us up for the week, kept us gassed up and traded out carts when ours started running rough) and did some really serious roaming about the island. With the cart I think we saw every bit Caulker, the diamonds, warts, and all. We did the Lamanai ruins and New River tour with Tsunami tours. It was pretty cool, but be prepared for a power visit at the ruins for you to be able to make it back in time to catch the last water taxi back home to Caulker. Probably the nicest day we had was the sailing snorkeling trip with Ragamuffin tours. Make sure you go out with Captain’s Ish and Kimani. We also did some snorkeling on our own inland around the mangroves and dock pilings where you can see many kinds of colorful sponges, corals, and fishes. We had intended to save money by eating in but ended up eating most of our meals in town but did make our own fresh ground and brewed Belizean coffee at the house every morning. One of our favorite things during our visit was the dogs of Caye Caulker. Feral, free roaming, or leashed they were the subject of many of our photographs. We definitely agree with the owners that this location should be reserved for the slightly more adventurous traveler and we can add…the travelers should pack a sense of humor and prepare to adopt island patience! The location really cannot be beat…it really makes you feel as though you have moved to the island!! Thanks Linda and Ron, we are seriously jealous of your spot!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

we booked after checking with the owners on upgrades that had been made. i have to say we had a great time. they had just upgraded the solar system and the hot water. the wind turbine added to the power supply kept us from running out of power. at the end of the month i was actually running things at night to see if i could max the system out. one night the gas refrigerator was even switched over to electric, and still no issue. when we arrived eddie picked us up and handed us a cell phone to use while there. his number and adrian the taxi drivers #'s are preprogrammed. a nice feature. we took the water taxi to caulker and then flew out on a single prop, just to have both experiences. found accommodations to be clean, in a really cool area with our own private bay. really loved the secluded location. one nearby house but we never had an issue as it's behind you and you don't really see it. kitchen had everything we needed to cook etc.... bought fruit at the market and made our own smoothies. used the stove to cook the fish we caught. snappers, hogfish & barracuda right out back. even bonefish. spent hours just swinging in the hammocks marveling at the view.-the bike ride to town took about 10 minutes and was pleasant. bikes were supplied. the walk would take closer to 20 or 30. we only walked it once. found it easier to take bikes which have baskets on them. that way we didn't have to carry stuff. i would highly recommend staying here if you are the adventurous kind of vacationer. we really enjoyed staying in a solar house using rain water. if you like going to resorts and high end hotels i suggest that you do just that.....this won't be for you. if you like to be left alone, with no bother, no crowds etc.... this is the place. by the end of the month it felt like our home. 1/2 the nights we cooked at home and the other 1/2 we biked to town. most days we relaxed, ate lunch, then biked to the split to snorkel and hang out. bounce around the village for a while and then get home to watch the sunset. when we ran out of propane, eddie the caretaker was there within 45 minutes and replaced the tank. that was great. he was there if we needed him but left us alone otherwise. don't know what else to say. had a great time. met great people. lived in the water & sunshine. enjoyed emailing the owners at night telling them what we were doing and getting hints from them. wifi worked great the whole time.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you! I think you made the most of your 4 week stay at our house! You two were great guests who came with an excellent attitude, and an appetite for fun and adventure. We agree that the privacy is a main feature of the house: the private bay (Indigo Bay) and one of the largest yards on the island, combine to give you some fabulous, wide, unobstructed views as the balcony’s wrap around 3 sides of the house. The sunsets from the balcony are irresistible, and I know I always come home with tons of sunset photos! I also love the abundance of coco palms in our yard. When you find one that’s “ready”, just split it open and grate the fresh coconut inside. There is a good recipe for coconut bread in the kitchen. Or, if you like rum, pour a bit in and sip it out with a straw. As you discovered, it’s not hard at all to enjoy yourselves on Caye Caulker! What’s not to LOVE about sunshine, clear blue skies, endless turquoise waters, friendly people and lazy days!! I think you’ve proven that the longer you stay on the island, the more at home you do start to feel and the more you pick up the calm vibe and relaxed way of life that is truely Caye Caulker! Thank you for your kind words – we’d love to have you back anytime!

It took me time to write – I felt very depressed having to leave such fun and sun and come back to the cold and all. This place was so cool. The island is not fancy or pretentious at all. Everyone is very casual. Washing machines and dryers in town, or you can use the wash pail at the house, so pack light. I just brought a couple shorts and shirts and kept washing them out in the morning and hanging out to dry. We bought a “calling card” at the small grocery store so we could call home on the cell phone we brought. I learned how to use a French press for coffee and bought myself one now. My wife took several showers in a day if it was hot out and we always had hot water. I needed to buy more ice in town since we crushed a lot in the blender. The baskets on the bikes were handy for what we bought. We took a snorkeling trip with French Angel and can’t say enough about that trip! Fantastic people. Eddy was helpful – terrific guy. The fresh produce stands where they make juice for you on the spot were a favorite stop every day. I wish that I had found the shrimp-on-a-stick guy near the split earlier in our trip. It was our favorite snack to walk over there from the split and eat a ka-bob. You’ll have a great time. We were very happy with our choice of place to stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the helpful comments. Joe and I spent 2 weeks there at the house in December and I agree that it has been quite hard to return home. Every visit we see and do new things and we meet brand new friends. On this visit we met Dorothy Beveridge, the renowned plant expert on the island. Dorothy has written an excellent book Plants of Caye Caulker. As a horticulturist, I find it very well done. Her husband, Jim had a book signing for his recently published book: Wildlife – Wild Places. It is fascinating. This is a couple who have lived quite a life! Although fairly “reclusive”, the 2 of them would walk by our house each a. m. and we met that way and had some great visits over morning coffee. We purchased a brand new refrigerator for the upper apartment via a trip to Belize City. Interestingly, the only way this could get to the island was via the barge “Sassy”. Things here do not happen instantaneously as many of us are used to, but happen at a slow pace. Everything takes longer to do, find, or get done on the island! I did additional painting, planted more coconut trees, and put brand new mattress toppers on each of the beds in order to improve the comfort. Constant improvement equals satisfied guests! You came at a wonderful time of year to the paradise of Caye Caulker! Don’t wait too long to book your stay for next year’s season!

Ahhh – how to review a fantastic trip… well, we very much liked having so much room to ourselves – the top deck’s bird’s-eye-view-level apartment and the yard were much bigger than we expected, and much bigger than other choices we looked at. It was nice to be social when we felt like it (in town) and then be able to go back to our own private spot to chill and enjoy each other. We took a snorkeling tour to the Hol Chan Reserve on a sailboat with Ragamuffin Tours. Very good too. Our trip to and from the island was easy with the help of the owners ahead of time, plus the help of Eddy, who met us dockside. Eddy was great - very helpful in answering our many questions. Nice place to stay for sure. Yes --I highly recommend the Indigo Pearl!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Yes, when you book your stay with us we do email you information on how to get to the island easily from the point of your flight landing in Belize City. There are 2 options: water taxi and small plane. We give you all the details you need to arrange your trip to the island from the mainland. If you enjoy an area to yourselves, then you would enjoy the spaciousness of the property – inside and out. The Indigo Pearl is not fancy, but it does give you plenty of room and it does not subject you to barking dogs, crowing roosters, loud music, or any of the other noise annoyances that are in town. We’re glad that you liked it! Yes, Hol Chan is considered by many a “must do” trip. There are many choices of excursions to take, and you can arrange them easily once you get to the island. We hope to have you stay again for your next trip to Caye Caulker!

Once we decided to book our stay, the whole process went smooth. Owners have it set up with vrbo.com that you can make your payment with credit card, online, with the link they send you. Easy and no fees to do that plus we got our airline miles by getting to use credit card instead of paypal or slow route of having to mail a check. Once booked, the owners emailed us info on how to get to the island, the water taxi info, good websites to look at, and info on the funny/fabulous Eddy, who was the one who met us at the water taxi when we got to the island. I liked the baskets on the free bikes, and used them to get groceries. Liked ChinaTown the best for groceries and general supplies – biggest selection. We also used Chen’s grocery and some of the tiny ones here and there that had the dirt floors and better selection of spices. Any trip to town was a time for us to stock up on the local Belikin Beer. At night we’d watch the sunset and then the stars as we sipped rum and cokes or icecold bottles of beer. Chairs and hammocks on the upper deck – fell asleep out there more than once and it was heavenly. Peace and quiet like nothing I have had in a long time. People in Caye Caulker are so nice. We went to Ambergris once for the day on water taxi and did not care for it. Glad to get back to simple little Caye Caulker, our bikes, snorkel gear and the slow pace of the smaller island. Bikes helpful too to go to the split to carry our snorkel gear and towals in. We biked so much that I even lost a couple pounds. In the house, the wi-fi worked great and we never had to go use an internet café. Oh – another good thing is try the ‘peanuts’ at the little place that sells water refills in town. On the same street that the bank is on. They have lots of good flavors and we got one every day I think. You’ll have a great time at this house on this cute little island. Next time I want to try a fishing trip – we saw some BIG fish being caught by others. We want to come back next year and re-live our fun times and make new ones. It’s our new favorite place to stay. Thanks Eddy.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind comments. We do work hard to prepare our guests for their stay by answering any questions and by sending information that can be helpful in planning. Knowing what to expect is something that makes for less confusion and makes your stay much easier. We have found that guests do not need to pre-arrange snorkel or fishing trips since all arrangements can easily be made once you arrive to the island. Our caretaker Eddy can help direct you to the best guides based on what you tell him you want. It is common to get around the island of Caye Caulker with a bike or walking, (no cars ?) and so we are often complimented on our offering the use of 2 complimentary bikes. The bikes offer the very best way to see the island, and the jungle path to town is always interesting. The ride is totally safe and it borders the Caribbean sea – what a lovely bike ride! I never need an excuse to take a bike to town – often I just go out for a ride and to see what’s happening that day on the island. Yes, the Belikin beer is made right in Belize and its slogan is “The only beer worth drinking.” They have a distributorship on the island where you can purchase it by the case, or simply buy individual bottles in the grocery stores. Belikin makes a regular beer and a stout beer. You will tell them apart because one has a green cap and the other has a blue cap. Both are excellent! The rum is also very popular with tourists and many take some home with them as a souvenir. We’re so glad you liked you time at The Indigo Pearl and we welcome you back at any time!

OMG, Just wonderful. 7 days of just relaxing. What a view, as everyone else has said the bike ride we looked at it as another adventure. Eddie had two cases of beer already at the house waiting for us. He and Chano were the greatest. Everybody on the island was so nice. My wife ran out of wine about 10pm, Called Chano and he delivered two bottles. It’s was just wonderful. From the southern CA zoo to such piece and quite AND that view. Loved it. Thank you again. JB/ECRecommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We encourage guests to let us know ahead of time (as these guests did), if you would desire to have any cold beverages pre purchased for you and chilling in the refrigerator at the house. It is an excellent idea as it is perfect to relax with a cold drink after a long day of travel! You simply pay our caretaker Eddy for the items once he gets you settled into the house. Chano is indeed a great guy too. He is the taxi (golf-cart) driver that Eddy often hires for you to get to our house. Locals on the island of Caye Caulker are kind souls and are eager to please. We are so happy that you had such a good time and I’m sure we will have you back again to stay, dive, relax and enjoy!

We had a very good time. I was excited to just chill and do nothing but relax, but the island has so much interesting stuff that we didn’t stay still for long. We were so glad to have the bikes. They were more fun than laying out in the sun at the split. We explored the whole island with the bikes and felt that we could get from the Pearl to town easily and in day or night. We used the headlamps at night and it made the trip exciting and fun. Crabs will run across the jungle path at night from one side to the other. We liked the people of the island and found them to be easygoing and nice to us. People were not ‘smooth talkers’ like they seemed to be in San Pedro over on the bigger island. We went there on the water taxi for the day at the end of our stay, but were sure glad to get back to Caye Caulker that night. It wasn’t for us. The traffic and the touristiness of it made us love this little island even more. The house was secluded and quiet and the refrigerator kept our drinks nice and cold for us. We brought our own pillows and the bed was fine. Nice spacious place for sure. We wish we were there right now! Eddy the caretaker was perfect too.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Great that you both had a good time. We are counting down the time till we get back there too. Things are shaping up to be an excellent season ahead for those who are booked in the upcoming months. The power supply is much improved now with the recent installation of all of the additional new solar panels. We are constantly updating and improving things at The Indigo Pearl for the express benefit of our guests. I like your idea of bringing your own pillows and am guessing that you must have “vacuum packed” them in order to make them flat for the suitcase. Great idea! We encourage everyone to get out and try a fishing trip. During our last visit I caught a Barracuda and that was a blast! It’s a bit of excitement that you don’t often experience. The snorkel trips out to the reef are a definite “must do” too. You can even arrange for pickup right at our pier with several of the smaller outfits that go out. Booking ahead of time is not necessary – all the arrangements can be made once you arrive to the island. Our caretaker Eddy can make recommendations to you if you like. He is a great guy and cartakes several other homes on the island. Again, I have to agree that the bikes are a wonderful asset to our house. The use of 2 complimentary bikes allows you to go anywhere and everywhere on the island. The jungle path is also so unique to bike at night – with the use of the headlights that we supply for your use. OK – now as I write this I’m getting VERY excited to come back too! I’m sure we’ll see you return to our place soon!

First time visitors to Caye Caulker and we had a TON of fun. Rode the water taxi to the island from Belize City. Eddy picked us up, and we stopped at a small grocery store called China Town for food and such. The Indigo Pearl house area is very private. We had not wanted the noise and commotion of town, so it worked great 4 us. We had fun feeding the lizards extra fruit off the balcony. The house was clean and basic and a good value for what we paid compared to others on the island. Lots of room for the 2 of us & great evenings out on the balcony with ice cold Belikin and rum drinks. We already miss the slow easy life and the warm beautiful water, the snorkeling, the nice people we met and the burritos at the split.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Your comments make me miss our "home away from home" too! I hope the island stays slow and relaxed and friendly and does not become commercialized. It's not clear how much longer the island can hold off modernization. I'm so glad that you appreciated the simple life of the island and the simple pleasures that come with it. The walk or bikeride to town each day is such a unique travel experience -- you travel along the shores of the Caribbean Sea on a simple dirt jungle path -- AND it works up a good appitite for all the amazing food choices of the island! One of the most popular restaurants in the island is Rose's Grill and Bar. Another favorite is Habanero's. Probably the most elegant is Don Corleone's where guests dress up and the lighting is romantic. Some of my personal favorites are not for the atmosphere, but simply for the food: Wish Willy's and Jolly Roger's are my top two favorites. For breakfast, I like to stop along the way in to town at the new small outdoor place on your right, just past the small airport area. I can't think of the name right now, but the I always like breakfast there! Many small mom and pop places open up in homes and may be gone the next time you come. These places are where the locals often go, but because they come and go it is hard for me to reccommend by name or location. Many tourists seem to go to Amor y Cafe for breakfast, which is right on Front St. Finally, when you are sunbathing at The Lazy Lizard (as everyone does at some point in their stay) see if they still offer the Lobster Burrito! It's unique and sooo good. I'm glad that your stay was a good one, and such fun for you. Caye Caulker is a wonderful and VERY unique place! Enjoy!!

My husband and I came to The Pearl for a 2nd honeymoon. To get away and be by ourselves. This place was great for that. We took the 45 min. long water taxi to Caye Caulker and then a rented golf cart taxi to the Pearl. Yes, the views from the top of the stairs (and from in the living room) were WOW! It was unbelievable what all we could see and how far. The colors of the water kept changing and were the most amazing shades of blue and green that you could ever imagine. We thought it a great value for its size and the fact that it had such a nice kitchen for cooking. And the ‘fridge to keep our case of Belikin beer ice-y cold!! (AHHHH) We read lots of books in the hammocks. There was a shelf full there, (plus games), or, go to town to a small internet café with used books to sell. (Can’t remember it’s name…) Internet worked fine for me to keep in touch with the kids back home. No t.v. – (thank you!) ---( I didn’t find myself stuck in front of it – ugh!) Just so you know, the deck of cards is missing the Ace of something… so the next people coming might want to bring a fresh deck… Belize coffee every morning on the balcony. We were surprised how many joggers and bikers pass by. We’d snorkel or ride bikes or swim at the Split all day. We took a ½ day trip with “Mario’s” (front street) to go snorkel at the reef 5 min. away. Went to sting Ray alley and saw nurse sharks and sting rays and touched and held them. (the rays). We didn’t fish or dive, but will on our next trip for sure. Adventurous is the word for Caye Caulker! We were sad to leave, but left a cold beer in the ‘fridge for the next lucky couple. Thanks for the memories!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Joe and I are thrilled that you had such a good vacation on the island! Incidently, we are participating in a Sea Turtle watch and are requesting that guests let us know when they spot any sea turtle eggs near our water's edge. We in turn will let the ECO-Sea Turtle Conservation group know. For example, the Loggerhead Sea Turtle has only a one in ten thousand chance or surviving to see its twelfth birthday. They are threatened by beach erosion, raccoons, skunks, dogs, birds, boat motor injury, and humans harvesting the turtles for meat. IF the Loggerhead sea turtle does reach adult maturity it will weigh between 200 - 350 pounds and its head alone can be ten inches wide! The prime egg- laying season for the sea turtles is from the end of June through mid-July in Belize, and there can be 100 or more eggs laid at a time on the beach in the sand. ( Incidently there are three varieties of sea turtles in Belize: the green, the hawksbill and the loggerhead.) We strive to not disrupt the ecology of the island by our homes' presence, but to help protect the marine, flora and fauna of Caye Caulker as best we can. We try to balance being a "green home" with the needs (sometimes too sophisticated!) of our guests. We attempt to limit the use of excessive chemicals, sprays, phosphates etc. We do not want to change this islands beautiful and delicate ecosystem. If you just want luxury then please go with the tourist crowds to San Pedro! Let's keep Caye Caulker the refreshing, simple, basic and unspoiled island that it is.

We flew in to the airport and Eddie met us with a golf cart. The house is super nice and secluded. We loved the privacy. Nice showers and use of the full kitchen was a nice perk. The first night we ate in town along the waters edge and next day we stocked up on groceries and ate a lot of meals at the house. Not much beef available, but lots of chicken and fish. We bought fresh fish from a fishing boat - very tasty. Nice to have a big kitchen with all we needed. We brought a soft-pack cooler as a carry-on and each day we'd empty the ice trays from 'fridge into it and add chilled water/drinks and head out on the bikes. Nights we watched the sun set and moon rise. Best views we saw on the whole island were right there off the big balcony. Awesome. We wanted to stay longer but Eddie said another couple was coming the next day. We will be back! Thanks!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: The Indigo Pearl is improving week by week. At this moment, the additional new solar panels are starting to be installed on the roof, which will greatly improve the power supply of the entire house. This will eliminate any future problems with fans or lights not working properly. We also are currently having our caretaker Eddy inspect each window screen to make sure that each fits properly in its window. Insects are always abundant in the beautiful tropical rainforests, but we want to do the best we can to eliminate any insect problems. We have 4 spare sets of sheets and plenty of towels, pots, pans, ETC !! The water is now being heated with an electrical heater so guests no longer need to rely on just the sun to heat the water. This makes your shower warm and wonderful. Eddy is wonderful and he works hard to make our guests comfortable - day or night!! He is one of the best caretakers on the entire island. I know we have had problems in the past, but we are constantly improving and it shows by these more recent reviews. Also, we are working hard to match our location and style (secluded and adventurous) with the people who want to stay. If we turn you away it is only because we think you would prefer the air-conditioned style of the more Americanized accomodations in town. If you like the true Belize life, our home may be just right for you! Thank you for your kind words. We look forward to having you stay again in the future.

I’m glad we didn’t take some of these reviews to heartbecause we found the Pearl to be just exactly what we wanted: Away from the hub-bubof town, quiet, simple and NOT “just like home.” Thank goodness it was a break fromreality for us. Sure, there were some insects, but it is the tropics here andwe just burned a “coil” each day like the locals all do. We noticed the screens on the apartment are avery tight weave and insects could not get in. We found we were out of soap andcouldn’t find the coffeemaker, so we just called Eddy on the cell phone (hesupplied for our entire stay) & he helped us right away. Eddy takes care ofother houses too so he knew seemed to know how to solve any problems. Oursheets were clean and the counters too. Shower curtain, towels, toilet paper –it was all there. Internet and bikes worked great for us too. (Loved thebikes!) Plenty of hot water, and we got a huge jug of purified drinking waterat no charge too. Not sure what the problem was for some other guests who wrotehere, but our stay was picture perfect – and we have tons of photos to show forit!! We are coming back in November!!See you then Eddy--- Keep the fish biting!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car.
Owner response: I'm so glad that Eddy was a big help to you. We think he's a great guy too. Things are really turning around, guests are happy - especially with the hot water!! Currently the new additional solar panels have arrived on the island and are ready to be installed. The area surrounding The Indigo Pearl is lush with greenery. There are some coconut palms in the yard, and if ripe you are welcome to pull one down, crack it open and drink the "milk." The "meat" of the coconut can be grated and used to make a delicious coconut bread at the house. At the waters edge you will see a lot the mangrove trees, which help to hold the shore edge. The roots grow partially above the water and are unusual to see. We have a nice planting of Aloe Vera which is valued for it's ability to soothe sunburn if a leaf is cut off and the soft cool gel is rubbed on your skin. We recently planted an almond tree in the front yard, and plan to add banana plants too. There is a lovely bright orange crab that lives at the base of one of our trees, and he often comes out for a slow walk. There are large iguana's that roam around and look for scraps of watermelon or such that guests may have thrown down to them on the sand off the deck. They do not desire to be near people and are not going to bother you at all. On the jungle path to town, you may see crabs scurry sideways across the path from one side to the other, or at night you may see a tiny spider on the path that glitters and glows. All of these things are special to being outside of the busy town area. We love being away from the hustle and bustle, and if you agree then you may be just the perfect guest for staying at The Indigo Pearl!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Indigo Pearl. It was very private but still accessible. The sunset views were the best on the island. The caretaker was very helpful and the use of bikes, kayaks and a full kitchen was a treat. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Again, we're thrilled that you loved your stay! We had a bit of a rough start this season, but things are clicking into place smoothly now. It sounds like Eddy took good care of you, and yes, he can be a huge help. We love the big kitchen too and I've left several Belizean recipes there for our guests: Coconut Bread (w/fresh grated coconut!), Creole Buns, Belizean Rice & Beans, Authentic Belizean fish Soup (which a local friend came out to teach me - it uses local ingredients!) - etc.!! Paired with some freshly squeezed fruit juices from town, you can make some great Belizean cuisine! Yes, you just cannot believe the gorgeous sunsets from our balconies until you see them for yourself. Watching the sun set becomes a nightly ritual. The views from town just can't compare. Thanks for your honesty! We hope to have you stay again soon.

The house was airy, spacious, simple and comfortable. Oh – and VERY relaxing. Location was perfect – a secluded refuge, right on the ocean. The dock was fun to sit on and fish from. Walked to town each morning and took our time sightseeing on the way. Used the bird book to ID unusual birds. We stopped at a different place each day for breakfast. (The little place just past the small airport was excellent.) Lunch was often at “no-name” places along the beach. Go to Rose’s for seafood dinner, or do as we did and buy fish at docks in town and cook it back at the house, then relax in the 2 hammocks with rum drinks! Big kitchen with everything we needed and the ability to make ice too. The house is in a good area – quiet and peaceful. We’d watch the stars and moon and far-off islands at night. (Close the door at dusk and dawn to avoid any sandflies. Beyond those times we were fine.) Everyplace in town takes US dollars. ATM in town too. Don’t bring travelers checks. Caye Caulker is SLOW. No one is in any hurry – ever! Much better than the overcrowded scene at San Pedro. Thank goodness that motorized travel is minimal here! Still, houses on Caye Caulker can be crowded and “on top of each other” – so we really valued the privacy here. Perfect! Eddy was very helpful – he’s a great guy with info on where to go, what to do, history, etc. We’ll be back for sure! Loved our stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We're so pleased that you had a good time. Caye Caulker is not for the pampered guest. It IS for the adventurous who love to explore & have fun! You sound like you went with the flow, and really explored the island. Another spot for good food is Wish Willys. Again, simple & basic, but fabulous food. Not Americanized! It sounds like you've discovered that we've been working very hard to "iron out the kinks." We encourage all to be patient with the people of Caye Caulker. Many have never left their country & they have a bit of trouble understanding that our ways can be different than theirs. Treasure them & respect them because without the true local Belizeans, Caye Caulker will just be another 'tourist trap.' Right now, Caye Caulker is still a uniquely special place. Our hope is that tourists don't demand that it become "Americanized".

We stayed on the island for about 2 months, living in 4 different accommodations and by far this was the worst! I stayed there for 2 weeks, my wife and child had to leave after just a couple of days, as the bugs and lack power for keeping the fans running were unacceptable, they had good screens but weren't put in properly so the bugs just went around them. As for the electricity they don't have enough battery storage so the fans would go off all day without warning and the bedroom window either would not open or it had no screen, so we had heat issues for our child . The battery storage was so bad when i was there by myself that i would get about 2 hours of having one fan going and reading light until i had to start up the generator at 12 plus dollars a gallon, and the generator is in a room with no ventilation so you had to go in that room after it was running for hours and shut it off, that isn't my idea of safe, healthy or good island experience! The dock was very unsafe and should be repaired if you are going be renting this place in the future, along with many other parts of the property such as the second apartment which we had rented for my niece but when we arrived and checked it out 3 out of the 4 fans weren't working, stove in pieces and not working properly and some of the windows wouldn't even open and the fridge also didn't work, needless to say i sent her to town to stay with my wife. The upper level is another story, the appliances worked well but fridge was small with little storage, water worked well, bathroom was high point, bed was horrific all springs no cushion, couch had thin pillows with a chunk of ply board underneath it, Kitchen was sketchy, had to buy a decent frying pan from town and a can opener, also had to buy a decent pillow. I don't expect as a renter having to buy articles that should be provided when paying the outrageous price of 85 dollars a night for a place that isn't worth 30 dollars, i have stayed in nicer wall tents! On the positive side of my stay the view was incredible all over the island and bike ride into town was enjoyable and eddy was pleasant, but be for warned the bike trip takes 10 minutes just to the airport not to the closest grocery store and the split is probably 20 minutes and heaven forbid if anything should ever happen out there. I have traveled all over the world in the last 20 years i have never felt so ripped off! P.S. All these good reviews seem to be fabricated by owner!!!!!Owner response: Wow ! This is enjoyable to respond to this, because your stay seems so very long ago, back in February, and SO MUCH has changed – and changed for the better for sure- that you would be pleasantly surprised! We are very proud of the work that we and many others have done to improve the house further. The first and LARGEST change is that we have now installed several brand new solar panels on the rooftop, substantially increasing our ability to supply electricity off-grid to the house. Shortages of power still need to be avoided by not being wasteful with the energy, but power IS increased tremendously and the generator should not be needed much at all, especially since we are only renting out the upper apartment at this time. The fans DO work, you just need to coordinate the wall switch with the pull cord. The screens have been caulked to secure them better to the frame, thus helping to keep the inside of the apartment free of insects. We still advise all guest s to burn an insect coil - which we supply and all the locals use- 24/7 as a preventive measure. After all, this IS the tropics. Yes, the dock is old, it is not in perfect shape, but this is the way we advertise it. Both the dock and the jungle path to town are rustic and imperfect – this is a small and simple island. The refrigerator is powered by butane, and these refrigerators are highly valued on the island. It is not as spacious as the refrigerators many of us have in our homes in the states, but it is more of the size of the older refrigerators that our grandparents may have had, with the freezer compartment on the top. We find it to be perfect for our stays! Likewise, the queen bed is not as the mattresses in the states. Items of high quality are not easy to come by on the island or in the simple country of Belize itself. We have added many items to the kitchen, replacing those items as we can which need to be upgraded. It depends on what you are used to, but again we feel the kitchen is a highlight and quite well stocked compared to other accommodations on the island. Yes! - The view – the bike ride to town – those are wonderful, exquisite and memorable. We feel that the experience of staying at our house is especially unique!!! We LOVE it and many, many others do love it too! (Verified guests ONLY are allowed to submit a review to vrbo.) When we travel to a foreign country we don’t want it to be “just like home” – otherwise we may as well have stayed home! We think you will agree!

We arrived on Caye Caulker and waited on Eddy, the caretaker, in the rain for over an hour. Then we started to locate him ourselves. After another hour had passed some locals finally located Eddy and he finally showed up very drunk. He couldn’t function so his friend had to help us. We finally made it to the Indigo Pearl 2 ½ hours after our arrival, unloaded all of our luggage, hauled it up to the top floor only to realize that the place had not been cleaned from the last renters. Bed was unmade, wet towels, and food all in the kitchen and refrigerator. We then tried to email the owners but the internet didn’t work at the Indigo Pearl. The cell phone that was provided with the house to contact Eddy and civilization didn’t work, Eddy did not have the keys to unlock the bikes provided and the 5 gallon water jug that was for our use had been depleted. We didn’t stay. Once we were able to get internet the following day we emailed the owners to let them know of the situation and that we did not take occupancy. The owners did not reply back to us until 2 days later. They stated that they were going to get Eddy’s side of the story. We did not hear back from the owners that the house was ready for us until our 6th day. We received numerous arrogant and very rude emails from the owners once we asked for a refund. They never once apologized about the condition and said that we should have done some work and found Eddy the next day and gone back to the house. Eddy knew how the find us because he dropped us off at a hotel and he never once said he would have the place cleaned. The owners claimed that they knew about the situation after it happened the 1st night, had the house cleaned the next day but didn’t tell us because they knew we were upset and they wanted us to cool down. The owners are crazy. Please read the description about the property carefully. It isn’t anything more than a small one bedroom apartment that runs off solar which doesn’t put out much electricity to run what is needed. The pier is very unsafe and needs replacing. Believe them when they say that it is a bumpy jungle like ride to the property. The Indigo Pearl is the farthest property on the south side of the island. You can rent a much bigger, nicer house with air conditioning, internet, grill, etc. right in the middle of town for the same price or cheaper as the Indigo Pearl. Believe them when they say you won’t be pampered because the Indigo Pearl is one step above tent camping.Owner response: Joe and I are very very sorry about the unacceptable circumstances these guests found themselves in upon arrival to the island. The problems with Eddy upon their arrival were 100% unacceptable to us. We refunded their entire first nights stay & immediately hired a new cleaning person to properly prepare our home, and they chose not to wait. Our home was fully ready the next day as they knew it would be. The bike lock key was not truly an immediate problem as it was nighttime and pouring rain. As for the phone: Eddy is never allowed to let a guest use our phone to place a call to us. Guests need to use their own phone for international calls. Also, the internet certainly does work. We have a wi-fi password which guests need to simply ask for. The call we had with our caretaker told us that the wife was extremely upset with the husband about our remote location. It seems there was some serious miscommunication between them about the 1 mile distance from town. I’m sure the husband was forced to satisfy his wife’s demands when they chose later to remain in town. Unfortunately we had not screened these guests to be sure our home was a “fit” for them. Changes we’ve made: We now personally call and speak with all who request a booking. Our desire is to match the guest’s expectations and personality with our home. Also, we now call our caretaker the day before each & every reservation to be certain that all is ready. In addition, we have already upgraded the water system to achieve excellent water pressure. Finally, additional solar panels will very soon be installed, which will increase our electrical power substantially. We LOVE our vacation home & many others do also. This is NOT “Club Med” but it IS exactly what you see and read on the website. Joe and I would rather our home sit empty for a week than rent to someone who cannot be satisfied nor give us a reasonable chance to correct any problem. Yes! You can rent a “cheaper place right in town” – if being right in the middle of town is what you want. We are for the individuals who prefer instead the privacy and the beauty of a large, unique, peaceful property right at the edge of the crystal blue sea, & those who see a bike ride (on a real jungle path!) to town as exciting – not a problem. Pampered people need not apply! A vacation is an adventure!! If you agree, then our home may be a great fit for you! We actually thank you for your letter, as it allows us a chance to emphasize some very important points!!

We greatly enjoyed our week on Caulker, but our accommodations were not a highlight. We want to be fair and honest, but due to limited space, we’ve had to truncate our review. We’ll post it full on other sites. The good: the location, the views, being two apartments since friends would be joining us, allowing each couple to have own space. The bad: •wind power generator and batteries not powerful enough to sustain for more than 2 days; consistent supply of electricity was not available, losing it completely the last night •“Solar heated water” implies there would be at least warm h20, which we never had. Additionally, we ran out of h20 on 2 separate occasions •Fridge was not turned on prior to arrival: it took 3 days to cool temps. We lost some perishables, a bummer because we were excited about a place where we could prepare meals •bedding was sandy when we arrived (ie. it had not been washed) •bikes did not work (however prop mgmt provided us with their own bikes and locks for week) •Others: few light bulbs in unit, one roll of toilet paper provided for the week-long stay, no shower curtain A couple joined us & stayed in the lower unit. Unfortunately, this unit was in much worse shape: fridge out-of-order, bedroom fan broken, no screens in windows meaning they could not be opened to cool down the unit (sand flies were a problem). No curtains on bathroom window, no bed spread on bed. Same problems with water and electricity. Further disappointing: the fact that no discount was given to the second unit for renting the whole house (both apts priced the same). Part of problem was the on-island prop mgmt, yet they were receptive to our needs and were able to resolve some issues during our stay. The larger issues are the unreliable electricity and the water heater, which 1) we felt were misrepresentations 2) were not problems for other south island houses (we asked around). The owners of the IP were receptive to our feedback and provided a partial refund due to the issues encountered during stay. They also told us that they would be making upgrades to the property, based on our feedback. We were pleased with this resolution and felt we were fairly compensated for the problems. However when our friends contacted them about the more serious issues with downstairs unit, the owners rudely dismissed the feedback, yelled at our friend, and offered no compensation. This property has potential to be great, but only after the necessary upgrades are made.Owner response: Sarah, Joe and I are happy to report many, many changes since your stay!! We appreciated your feedback which was sent to us in a kind manner.** We felt good that we did issue a partial refund and it went back to the one credit card that was used for payment- we assumed it would be shared by all involved... Now for the good news: **First of all, we’ve installed a hot water heater. Showers ARE now warm! **The water supply IS plentiful. Secondly,** we purchased 2 BRAND NEW bikes! **We are installing ADDITIONAL SOLAR PANELS!!(We're currently not renting the lower unit out until our additional solar panels are installed on the roof. They have arrived on the island, but are not quite installed. The current solar panels can support the upper apartment.)** This will vastly improve the power supply for the fans and lights. (The fans in both units do work; it is a matter of coordinating the pull chain and the wall switch.) **The screens have all been replaced with the tightest screen available, to help guard against insects. ** The bathroom window is quite a distance from our only neighbor, but it does have a covering now. **Both bedrooms always have had and still do have bedspreads. ** We supply 4 sets of spare sheets. ** We are not sure why your bathroom did not have the shower curtain or plentiful toilet paper…we have plenty of spares of each! During our recent visit, we went over the cleaning procedures with our local cleaning person. The Belize government requires you to employ local persons first, and we love that – however life on Caye Caulker is sooo relaxing because it is simple, with simple needs and demands. Please be patient with the islanders – they want to please you – their ways are not always the same as we are used to. You won’t find a kinder group of people. Remember that this is a very laid back island and you will have a fabulous time!!! In conclusion, we are thrilled to report many new upgrades since your visit! We were happy to have your feedback letter after your visit and we are definitely responding. Our goal is the happiness of YOU - our guests!

The pictures posted are very deceiving ! I have pictures that I personally took but was unable to post on this site (I will be uploading to other review sites). We rented both levels and were equally disappointed in both. The shower and sink water did little more than trickle. The ceiling fans did not work what so ever which we were counting on since it does not offer AC. The toilet area was covered in aged feces and the floors were covered in hair etc etc. The sheets were worn and appeared to have not been clean either. A golf cart is a must $60 U.S. a day if you stay here. Be prepared to pass enough trash to fill 5 or 6 large Hefty size trash bags along the route to this house. We immediately found another place on the island. Joe & Linda the owners whom refunded 1/2 of our fee and agreed to inspect the place and be in contact regarding the rest of our fee have yet to be in touch. I have emailed and called several times to no avail. This is not our first trip to Caye Caulker and since we have made several contacts on the island. This place and the owners have a bad reputation so please considered yourself warned !Owner response: Thank you Dion for writing. Your review exemplifies the fact that every home is NOT for every person, and the importance of carefully reading the web site! Dion and her group arrived a full day earlier than their reservation, and brought an extra person that we were never told about. Immediately upon arrival to our home, one of the adults became agitated at the lack of a big screen T.V. Another literally cried to Eddy about the 10 min.bikeride to town. A third was shocked and distraught at the lack of air conditioning. And Dion herself was shocked at the fact that we are an “off-grid” home with variable water pressure and variable electrical power. We firmly stand by our web-site description. It is indeed a very accurate description of our home. Please read it carefully!! We never claim at all to have a TV nor air conditioning, and yes, it IS (beautifully) secluded, remote and powered by wind and solar energy. During our personal visit, just one week later, we totally loved the 10 minute bike rides to town (on 2 brand new bikes). We normally bike to town at least 3 times/day - for fun, exercise, groceries, to swim along the way, or to stop at the delicious bakery. We have never rented nor even wanted to rent a golf cart. It is not a necessity. We gladly accommodated this large group a day early – at no extra charge – and yes, possibly the bathroom was not yet cleaned. However our caretaker had the cleaning 100% finished by the next morning – their original check-in time. (There was some confusion with Eddy as to their arrival time) Unfortunately, this was totally unacceptable to these fussy guests. They had absolutely no flexibility nor interest in working with our caretaker. They left almost immediately upon arrival, and did not return, but opted instead to stay at the top priced hotel in town (where they did have a big screen T.V. and A/C.) We firmly stand by the facts: 1) Our home will be clean upon your scheduled arrival. 2) We have no big screen TV nor A/C, nor do we mislead guests into thinking we do. 3) We ARE an off-grid home and advertise that the power & water pressure could at times be variable. The fans DO work – we found them to be fully functioning. 4) Our home IS a 10 min. bike ride or 20 min walk to town. We are proud of our remote seclusion. If you do not like exercise or adventure please do stay instead in town! Sadly, this family was impossible to please. We would rather our home sit empty than to rent to Dion.

This place was picture perfect. Absolutely gorgeous!! I loved spending time on the dock, just soaking in the beauty of the island, and taking the little kayak they have for paddles around the shore. The bio-luminescence in the water at night is really wild. It's close enough to town to bike in no problem, and far out enough to be a private, relaxing total getaway. I took a taxi to get there/leave with my stuff, but besides that just walked and biked everywhere. The owners were nice, helpful and really welcoming and the place itself was clean, comfortable and well-maintained. I liked the art too! I would definitely book this place again next time.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Glad you enjoyed your stay. Sadie and Zach have returned to the U.S. for the summer to pursue their education but their art work still remains on the house. Eddie, our caretaker has taken over in welcoming our guests and is only a phone call away from assisting them with any of their needs.

When my boyfriend and I went to Belize after traveling in South America, we were not looking to stay at a normal hotel, or spend all our time indoors in air conditioning. We are fairly outdoorsy no-fuss people, and the Indigo Pearl was a really unique cool place that we could not have ever afforded to rent in any other country (it's pretty huge, and has some seriously cool art) . That said, I would warn that it is not the spot for everyone- I could see how people with small children or an aversion to a little dirt might prefer to stay closer to town. I loved biking along the trail through the Belizian jungle everyday, but yeah you are going to sweat and get some bug bites. That is what we were expecting though. We had talked to the owner Joe on the phone a couple times before we arrived, and I felt like it was pretty much on the level that I was expecting, and definitely nicer than a lot of other places I've stayed in South or Central America for that price. The inside is not immaculate, but it's certainly not filthy or gross either, and the caretaker Eddy did provide us with clean sheets and was very very helpful every time we mentioned to him that we needed something. We did have to be pretty careful about how much power and water we were using, since it's an off-the grid place, but that is something we had to do everywhere we traveled in South America, and personally I'm glad to see some environmentally conscious setups like the Indigo Pearl operating in Belize. I reccomend this place highly to backpackers, people interested in sustainable systems, and other adventurers who just want to get away from the drunk "spring break" style idiots who wreck the best beach paradises! So haters can hate, but my boyfriend and I will definitely be returning to this place for another vacation. Thanks again, you guys!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I think you both were perfect guests for our home: world travelers who love to experience the REAL part of a country - not the "Americanized version" of a country! Yes, we do have some amazing artwork on the side of the house too. I'm glad you noticed. The house is unique and in a unique location. Our home is NOT air conditioned and sterile. It IS spacious with an absolutely unrivaled view of the Belizean jungle, and spectacular views of a sea in shades of blue that you just can't imagine until you sit out on our balcony. With binoculars you can view far-off islands or watch local fishing boats pass close by. I agree that if you want to stay in town with the dogs barking and bar music then our home is not for you. IF you love beauty and riding bikes and a spacious yard and plenty of room and privacy then our home is great for you. Thanks for your kind words. We look forward to your return trip!

Just isolated enough for you to enjoy the bioluminescence off the dock, go fishing without the sounds of man creeping in on you, and go kayaking through the mangroves without interruption. It's also close enough to the city for a short walk/bike ride into town for a Belikin, fantastic food, or a snorkel trip. I enjoyed many a day lounging in the hammock, reading a book, and watching the sunset. The house is well appointed and a lot more sustainable than most vacation rentals. I HIGHLY recommend it!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: The isolation and privacy of this house is just what we were looking for in a vacation house. The entire island is only 2 miles (a fifteen minute bike ride) from top to bottom. The excitment of town and the peace and quiet of the house is seperated by a gorgeous cart path along the coast and through the jungle.

So as I think back, it's almost already been a year since my trip to Caye Cauker. I want to go back again. I have, so many times day dreamed of my times there. An island where you can walk end to end, or bicycle it, or be lazy and take a golf cart "cab". No cars here. When we live in such a high tech world, Caye Cauker allowed me to live low tech and love it. Yes, this place has internet so I can still stay "connected", but to wake up, walk out on the deck with your coffee and stare out at the blue water... not a bad way to start the day. This place is a place where you can be on your own and enjoy the nature that is right there, yet walk into town for a beer (or 2) and a bite to eat or get some groceries and head back and do your own thing. This is not an island for jet-skiing and fancy restaurants. And this oceanfront house has no big screen tv's. This place offers solitude, nature, and beauty. A place where people can just be. Be together, whether it be a couple or a large group. A SPA vacation it is not. But if you want to give your honey a massage, then maybe it is. :-) The snorkeling you can do from a place in town (sorry, I forget their name) was incredible. Like 20 bucks for everything and we saw rays, sharks, barracuda, and even those bad ass eels, as well as pretty colorful fish. This island is great. I just ask- don't ruin it. The people are awesome here. Be nice back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for emphasizing our strongest points at The Indigo Pearl: solitude, nature, and beauty. You are exactly right! Our home is simple yet functional, giving you an island ‘home away from home’. Yes, we do keep you ‘connected’ via the internet, and yes, we do hope to motivate you to explore the island by not putting a TV in the house. There is so much to do on and off the island. A trip to snorkel the barrier reef is only a 5 min. boat ride away. And I agree, the rates are very reasonable. You do not have to plan your “excursions” ahead of time – most people set them up once they get to the island. I’m sure we’ll see you back soon!

I had a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back! The house is in great shape with a comforting and funky feel. I loved the location, it gave us an opportunity to have complete peace and quite on the south side of the island... but if we wanted to return to town it was an easy and scenic bike ride. The second floor of the property had a view of the entire island! We would spend our nights swinging in our hammocks watching the sun set over the ocean; these pictures do not do it justice! I hope to return soon, "the beach boat" and crystal clear ocean water is calling my name. The house had everything we could possibly need including an internet connection to check my email. My husband loved fishing off the pier, and when I needed my time, I found a great little massage studio in town called Healing Touch Spa. Great price for the wonderful massage. On the nights where we wanted to go out, we would ride our bikes to the town and enjoy a wonderful filling meal. After we would go to the local hot spot called I and I, Regge Bar and enjoy a local rum and pineapple drink. We have plans to return in the future and I would live here again in a heart beat.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind words. We do keep hearing the same words to describe a stay at The Indigo Pearl: “Peace and Quiet”, “Loved the bikes”, “Awesome View”, “Enjoyed the hammocks”, “Excellent view of the nightly sunsets”, “Gorgeous crystal blue ocean”, “Used the internet, the pier and the kitchen”. We love our times at the house on Caye Caulker and I’m so glad that you did too. Getting away from it all is what vacations are about, and so if you enjoy some space away from the crowds then The Indigo Pearl is perfect for you.
