The location of this house could not be better. Located within the triangle of the Jardin (3 blocks), the Instituto (1 block) and the gorgeous Parque Juarez (2 blocks), it is surrounded by restaurants, gourmet shops, galleries, local tiendas, a grocery store, a 24 hour pharmacy, and arguably the best taco stand in all of San Miguel de Allende. No car is necessary, but if you have one, there is a secure parking lot 1 block away. I like to describe the neighborhood as the Greenwich Village of San Miguel (I promise this is not hyperbole!)
In addition, I cannot think of a safer location in all of San Miguel. Hotels must agree, as The Rosewood and the Posada de la Aldea are within a block. A heated swimming pool is available at The Aldea for a nominal fee. And, a spa and swimming pool are available at The Rosewood. Tango lessons are available at the small hotel directly across the street. Hot springs (Las Grutas) are a taxi ride away.
Some of the best restaurants in San Miguel are right outside your door. Caferama, Hecho en Mexico, the Rosewood Rooftop Tapas Bar, Rosewood 1826, Cafe Monet, Antigua Trattoria, and Provecho are all located within a block or less..
There are 1 1/2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The MBR has a King SleepNumber bed with en suite bathroom and terrace access, along with Parroquia views even from bed! There is wifi and a television with English cable channels. The 1/2 bedroom is a large open space on the second floor which has a double and twin bed. There is a bathroom on this floor with tub. The house sleeps 5 total.
A wood-burning fireplace (wood provided) and a gas fireplace in the MBR add to the charm. Additional heating (gas and electric) are available. There is an air conditioner for the MBR during the hot summer months.
The kitchen is full. A maid will be provided 4 hours weekly during your stay (she will cook instead of clean if you prefer) along with a gardener for 2 hours. These are employees who work in my own home, and are completely trustworthy.

About the owner: My great uncle came to San Miguel in 1969 and my love affair with the place started shortly after. My love of horseback riding, hiking, antiquing all began here. My family owned a house for 35 years just a block from where this house is located. I wouldn't live anywhere else in San Miguel. Our personal home is also located a block from the property. We live here year round and personally manage Casa Codo. We have another house in South Florida which we rent out to rave reviews.
