Stoneflower Cottage was a memorable adventure. The first level - part cave with a hot shower flowing from the rocks, next floor part tree house with small kitchen, upper level sleeping loft. The trees and rocks surrounding the cottage gave it a secluded and peaceful atmosphere, very relaxing. A one of a kind place to stay, I enjoyed every minute! After our stay we went to Blanchard Springs and Blanchard Springs Caverns. Very nice!

Had an excellent time at the property. Awesome example of 1960's architecture. Cool cave atmosphere in basement, loved the shower. Tree house atmosphere upstairs. Feels very secluded. Very quiet and relaxing there. Good place for honeymoon, wedding, romantic weekend getaway. Not good for disabled persons. Swam at the Dam Site Marina. Cliffs to dive into the water at that beach.

My wife and I spent two nights at Stoneflower and thoroughly enjoyed it. The structure (by Fay Jones) is astounding and a great architectural experience. The setting is beautiful. It is wonderful to see what a great architect and good clients can accomplish. You will not have lived in anything like this and will not forget it. We also enjoyed the nearby Red Apple Inn and recommmend it.

This place is an incredible, amazing, beautiful work of art! My husband & I spent our 10th wedding anniversary here and will defiantly return! We just returned home yesterday and miss it already, we keep joking with each other saying that we hear Stoneflower calling us back already! This place far exceeded any expectations that I had, it was simply breath taking. It seems almost impossible to describe the fascinating beauty of Stoneflower into words. Stoneflower is unique in every way, you will never be able to find another place that quite compares to this one. You should check this place out!

My wife and I are big fans of Fay Jones' work. We have a tradition of taking an adventuresome trip for our anniversary, so, for our 40th last month, we spent 10 days driving around northwest Arkansas going to Jones' various buildings, homes and chapels. We attended a Jones lecture at the University of Michigan several years ago where he told the story of Stoneflower's design and construction and how it was the prototype for his masterpiece; Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka springs several years later. Stoneflower is a real adventure. Eden Isle is a residential development on a peninsula in the huge Greers Ferry Lake impoundment about an hour north of Little Rock. Try to get there in the daylight as the front entry is across a half dozen large rock slabs that curve around under the deck. This place is the other end of the spectrum from ADA compliant, so physical disabilities will be a problem. You enter into a rock grotto room with a fireplace that then leads past a tight spiral stair upstairs and then hard right past some storage to the open Bathroom. We LOVED the waterfall shower (but moisture is a problem). Finding all the light switches and figuring out what each lit was an adventure in itself. We found the one on the ceiling half way up the stairs made for good night lighting. The main level has an almost unusable Dining area (that was truncated by the addition of a v. small Toilet Room), a small 60's galley kitchenette, Living area with two built-in couches/beds and then the long deck that floats out into the trees (you can't see the lake anymore as they've matured). Further up the spiral stairs is a sleeping loft with a Queen bed (hint: the ceiling fan control is above the pillows). Out the back door to the right is a rock terrace area with a table and chairs and a small pond. To the left are rock slab stairs that lead up to a fairway on the golf course. The weather was severe both evenings/nights we stayed, so, we spent most of our time there indoors. We used the footrests in the Living area as tables to eat from (after removing the cushions), watching the Weather Channel and heading downstairs when the hail was coming down (twice). We had a very memorable time. It has to be so much more work for the owners to keep this place rentable than a 'normal' cottage. We really appreciate them making it available to experience.

Although there are other houses in this resort community, it felt very private. Amazing architecture, owner helpful via email, and the most unique house I have ever seen. Surrounded by beautiful natural setting. Ideal for couples wanting a break from life.

Staying at Stoneflower is like sleeping in a museum! It's in a lovely setting, as stated, and it's quiet, serene and extremely peaceful. The home was built in 1965, and it is preserved very loyally. The only issue we had was with the limited kitchen space...it just isn't made for cooking a large meal. However, this wasn't an "deal-breaker" sort of issue. We made it work just fine. Be sure you are ready to build and maintain a fire in the fireplace if you go in the cold weather.

Nov 1 was my son's first "birthday" since he died Dec. 12, 2011. He would have been 49. I didn't want to be wround "humans", but wanted it to be a spiritual retreat for reflection and renewal. I read each day on the deck. The weather was sunny the entire time. The cottage is like living in art! I especially loved the reflection on the class from both the deck during the day (360 degree trees!) and at night (rafters for the entire cottage; looked like the cottage extended another 24 feet!). It was the peace, solitude, and nature that I sought (I grew up on a farm). The whole experience was perfect!

My husband and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary at Stoneflower. From the moment we arrived, we were in awe (and remained in awe) of this enchanting cottage. Nestled in the scenic woodlands of Eden Isle, the home feels private and secluded -- even though it's a stone's throw from the Red Apple Inn Country Club. Stoneflower is truly a work of art. Unique features include the natural rock den; the bathing grotto with a waterfall for a shower; and, of course, the vaulted ceiling with signature Fay Jones cross-lattice woodwork. The upstairs loft is comfortable and cozy; it lets in just the right amount of natural light in the mornings. The loft overlooks the stylish living room - another favorite room of ours for its hip, midcentury modern decor. The only drawback is the teeny tiny kitchen, but we made it work, and, honestly, it only added to the quirkiness and charm of this place. Outside, exploring the grounds, we marveled at the rock work, rock staircases, pond and other garden features. We saw deer and several squirrels. Stoneflower is the perfect romantic retreat. It showcases the genius and artistry of Fay Jones and reflects the natural beauty of the area. We loved our time at Stoneflower. We highly recommend it for a romantic weekend. And we hope to return again some day.
