A spacious well epuippied kitchen with seating for 8 persons is located separately and adjacent to the living /dining room. Another option is al fresco dining in the leafy garden courtyard or a BBQ in the area adjoining the pool.Tranquil setting nestled in between two streams
Upstairs there is a large comfortable sitting room with sofa, arm chairs, Satelite TV, DVD, fireplace and a door which opens onto a small shaded upper courtyard with a gate which leads to the village where after a few steps one can find freshly bake bread, butcher, grocer, chicken shop, and small bar. This is a plus if one does not wish to use the car.
Also upstairs are four bedrooms two with queen sized beds and two with two single beds. There are two bathrooms one of which has both shower and bath.
Villa Roocello is located in the Lucca Region which has at its epicentre the unique city of Lucca. Lucca is the capital of the Province of Lucchesia and is one of the richest areas in Tuscany for history, tradition and culture.
Lucca has preserved its characteristics since Roman times with the city still surrounded by the well-preserved 16 th century ramparts that once served to defend it. The ancient ramparts now serve as a recreational area for its citizens and visitors who walk or cycle around them.
The inner city is closed to most traffic, offering the visitor a lot to enjoy on foot or by bicycle. The city has many fine churches, including its grand Romanesque cathedral. You can wander the picturesque narrow, winding streets and alleys lined with alluring shops, and visit the Piazza del Anfiteatro, once the site of a Roman Colosseum, that continues to preserve its ancient form. Lucca has a museum in the house where Giacomo Puccini was born, and holds an annual opera festival in June as one of several arts events. There is a well-known antiques market in Lucca on the third weekend of each month.
Leaving the city gates, there are many enjoyable excursion possibilities. Nearby are interesting historic villas, Pisa and its famous Leaning Tower , the foothills of the Apuan Alps, the seaside beach resorts of Viareggio and Forte di Marmi. The region has a well-developed transportation system enabling longer day trips to be easily made from the Lucca area to the Cinque Terre, to Carrara where Michelangelo quarried the marble for his statues and where sculptors still carry out their art, and to Florence and Siena. The area is renowned for its fine olive oil, its wines and its many gastronomic specialties. Lucca also offers numerous possibilities for those interested in hiking in the well-known mountain area of the Garfagnana, or exploring the beautiful countryside by bicycle.

About: For more information about myself, the history, reason, and the seach for "Roocello" the villa you can buy my book which I illustrated and wrote.
The truth is that after 4 months of looking and only 5 days prior to our departure before returning home, we walked through the gates on a wet and wild winter's day and we knew that this was it! Confirmation did not take long. Two steps into the 100 square meter living room and upon seeing the majestic like scupltures of the stone milling wheels with their cogs that towered to the 5 meter ceiling; the search was over!
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
Travelling around the countryside absorbing the local culture, food, wine and beautiful scenery. Naturally we can't miss the birth place of the renaissance, Florence and it's wealth of art and history.
