  Having spent weeks looking for a furnished apt. to rent in Studio City for a long weekend, I decided it was worth the price to stay at this property with all its amenities. Problems with this rental began before we arrived: we called to confirm our arrival time and were told that the apt. was not yet cleaned because of a "late checkout" that day. Over an hour later we were met by the staff and let into the apt. The place was spacious but reeked of disinfectant over carpet rot. It turned out that the area rug was soaking wet and smelled to high heavens. We moved the carpet out onto the balcony, where it remained for our whole stay because of its smell. Such a poor start left all of us unsure of the cleanliness of the rest of the apt. Our worst fears were confirmed when we went to bed and found that the bed linens were not clean. I washed them by hand the next day since to use the laundry facilities would have cost $10 to buy a pay card--the machines don't take coins. When we told the staff that the linens were not clean they insisted it was our responsibility to pay to use the dryer. Since no directions about the property were given us when we arrived, I had to explore the property myself to find a dryer and to check out the pool, gym, etc. I discovered that the electronic key I was given did not work on any of the entrance doors to any of the amenities; whenever we left the property on foot, our key did not work to let us back in. We had to wait for someone with a working key to come along and let us back in. After wasting many would-be vacation hours doing the laundry, trying to get access to the pool (which we never did get), and buying candles to deodorize the premises, I ended my last night there bailing out the dishwasher water that poured out onto the kitchen floor throughout the rinse-dry cycle. Of course there was no mop in the stripped down apt. and no staff available either. Does this sound like a classy rental to you? The gated community is attractive and what I saw of the amenities looked good from the outside--which is exactly where the fun stops. Don't let the pictures fool you--both the apt. and the service at this site are shabby, unfortunately for us. This was the first time we rented through VRBO and we won't be doing it again.

  We had a great stay at this apartment. Location was great. Apartment is in a gated community, so we felt very safe. Swimming pool was great, our kids really enjoyed it. While it was very close for my husband"s job, there were also many things to do for my children and I. We went to Universal Studios, which is super close!Hollywood was 5 minutes drive. Small shops and restaurants were walking distance. There is also business center and conference center in the building, which was very useful for my husband. Staff was very nice.We called in advance and they made sure we had everything we asked for. We loved this apartment and had a great time and will be back for sure.

  My adult daughter and son and I stayed at the Universal City property (2 bedrooms) for two nights. The apartment was clean and spacious. Could have used a few more pots and pans but overall we were comfortable. We got a good rate - same as the Universal Sheraton hotel but with much more amenities. We would definitely stay here again for the price we paid. Universal Studios was just a few miles from the property and stores and restaurants are close as well. The one down side was the freeway noise - ask for a room away from the freeway - other than that we had a great stay.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.
