Designed for non-motorized use, it's paved in summer for cycling, and groomed in winter for skiing and snowshoeing. Year-round it's a wonderful place for a walk, jog or run. Dog sledding, snowmobiling, horseback riding, jeeping, rafting, kayaking, cat tours, fishing, hot springs and hiking are among the many ways to have fun and enjoy this area.

This is a historic home with a lot of character. Most importantly though, it has a sizable kitchen, comfortable rooms, satellite TV, and even laundry if we needed it. We were in town for the Leadville Race Series. This home is a 1 minute walk to the start of the Leadville 100 and race headquarters. It is also on the same side street as a great pizza place. Very convenient location. The owners are incredibly nice people. We would definitely rent here again the next time we are in Leadville.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I just got back from a ski trip to Cooper Mountain, and while we would have had a great time anywhere we stayed, this home was the icing on the cake! We were so impressed with this house. It is gorgeous and has so much historic charm! The house is stocked with kitchenware, blankets, towels, soap/shampoos, hair dryer, laundry detergent, etc. There is a huge flat screen television with all of the satellite stations downstairs. Also a large claw foot bath tub with plenty of hot water. And the house is furnished beautifully with antique furniture and lots of unique touches. They also have a programmed lock where you punch a code on the door to get in so you don't have to keep up with any keys. The owners are very friendly and their fantastic antique mall is just around the corner if you need to get in touch with them. They have lived in Leadville for 20 years so they have lots of great recommendations and were very helpful. This rental is definitely the best bang for your buck - you will not be disappointed in your stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: About the owners... I was born in the mountains of Colorado, and have spent most of my life here. My husband Bruce and I have lived in Leadville for almost 20 years, and have owned and operated a large antique mall and gift shop for 15 of those years. The store is right around the corner from 123 W. 4th Street, which used to be our residence. Last year we moved into a house north of town, but didn't want to sell our beloved 123. So, we decided to set it up as a vacation rental, to allow others to enjoy this special home. Hillery
