Auburn house description
This charming two-story home provides our guests with an opportunity to enjoy their stay in Auburn in southern comfort. The large front yard and beautiful wooded backyard provide a relaxing setting with close proximity to Auburn University and downtown. One half block away is the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art, which is located on South College Street, directly across from Auburn Univesity where tailgaters fill the fields for home football games. The house is approximately one mile from the AU Athletic Football Complex, stadium, baseball park, and the AU arena. Shuttle buses for home football games run less than half a mile from the house, which is nice for those who prefer to ride rather than walk. Toomers Corner is exactly 1.5 miles from the front door. The proximity to AU makes this home perfect for any university related activities. It is a delightful place for family and friends to stay when your travel plans bring you to Auburn, whatever the occasion.
The house, which was built in 1940, was renovated in 2007 and was featured the next year on the Loveliest Village Christmas Tour of Homes. The first floor features a large living room and a dining room, both of which open up to a screen porch. The kitchen, with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops, connects to the family room . The covered porch off of the family room connects to the brick patio and a separate New Orlean-style courtyard. These outside areas provide the perfect place for outdoor entertaining.
The upstairs includes three bedrooms and one full bath. One bedroom has a double bed, and the other two have two twin beds in each. The large master bedroom suite with a queen size bed offers a beautiful view of the wooded landscape from the bedroom balcony. The suite includes a marble bathroom with a whirlpool bath, and a sitting room.
The house features a mix of antiques, with casual comfort in the home's traditional interior, defines a style that is both livable and charming.

We needed several homes in town for a wedding weekend, and we could not say enough about this home. Great location, decor and warmth. Thanks Joel!

Even bigger than it looks

This house was amazing! We had several friends come into town for a reunion we put together ourselves and having a house in a great location really helped with coordination. We were able to have people over to socialize before and after the game and everyone that came in remarked on how nice the house was. I had at least two of my friends wanting to rent it for family reunions. Things that were great- the kitchen had everything we needed and more; the downstairs bath is just off the master, but not attached, so it was easy to use it without bothering those sleeping in. That bath was very large- huge double sink vanity, soaking jetted tub and separate shower. The upstairs bath is a bit smaller- just one sink. The half bath was very convenient just off the kitchen. The master was huge and it's balcony was very nice. The smaller room upstairs with two twins was handy- only one suitcase would fit without being in the way, but I just put my things in the dresser and shoved my suitcase under the bed. Piece of cake. There are so many outside seating options- two separate patios (one with a big grill), a private balcony, and a screened porch. It's a house especially nice for having quiet conversations in one room, but also having loud fun in another. We'll be staying here every time we are back in Auburn from now on. Joel was incredibly helpful, coming to fix a small problem in the span of two hours and going out of his way to pick up our trash when we overfilled the (huge) trash bin. The house is even bigger than it looks in pictures and easily housed 14 adults and 6 kids at a get-together and had plenty of room for more. The parking along the quiet road was great for folks coming from out of town on game day, too. Was also VERY clean and so tastefully decorated.

Loved Our Stay!!
Loved Our Stay!!
My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. It was in a very nice neighborhood, close proximity to all the sporting events, and very spacious and clean. The pictures are very accurate and the amenities were excellent. I would definately stay in this lovely home again. Very nice patios, porches, and very spacious front yard as well. Covered parking for two vehicles and plenty of room in the drive way for more vehicles. Thanks for sharing your home. Hope to stay with you again.

My husband and I got married in Auburn on the June 9, 2012. When planning our accommodations for our family and friends while in town for the weekend festivities, we came to VRBO. We thought this home would be perfect for some our family and friends to stay who were arriving earlier. It worked at wonderful. They could relax and have meals there. It is a very spacious home. Many indoor and outdoor places to visit and enjoy the company you are with. It very convenient to downtown Auburn and Auburn University. The owners were available if we needed them. The information and photos listed on the site were accurate. I would recommend this home to my family and friends anytime for the stay in the Auburn. War Eagle!!!

Stayed for the Florida Game weekend and had a great time. The house is amazing and I highly recommend the house for a weekend stay. The pictures of the house are nice but they do not capture the comfort, warmth and decor of the inside of the house. The backyard patio and courtyard are also wonderful for entertaining family and friends. I can't imagine a better location and house to rent for a Auburn Game Weekend. Thanks Joel!!

Exceeded our expectations!
Exceeded our expectations!
The pictures on this listing were so lovely; I tried to prepare myself not to be too disappointed if the house wasn't as beautiful in person, but instead, the property EXCEEDED my expectations! Top-of-the-line appliances in the beautiful, well equipped kitchen meant we could eat in as much as we wanted. The master bedroom suite was fantastic -- LOVED the great shower and jacuzzi tub. This is a beautiful, comfortable home filled with natural light on a lovely piece of property. Our family had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy our weekend in Auburn. My husband flew his children down for their first-ever Auburn game and this was the perfect place to spend the ballgame weekend. We walked to Toomer's for lemonade, then stopped off at Chill for frozen yogurt before heading to the staduim for Tiger Walk and the game. What a wonderful experience! Thank you, Joel and Lynda, for allowing our family to enjoy the use of your home for the weekend. We look forward to renting it again in the future!
