**The nitty gritty** The cabin is very clean and new, with most of the amenities from home. The website used for rental seemed safe and well organized (VRBO). The Owner was very kind and cordial, with prompt responses to my questions. **For the ice fisherman** The cabin is located in a wonderful spot with close access to all the local hot spots for fishing; i.e. Wildfowl/Harbor/ Break wall. I will state if you are curious about ice fishing directly off the cabin (due south) in wild fowl, use some caution, ice seems to not freeze in a small area where a channel is; but with a little local knowledge you can avoid it. Hope ya get a laker! **Final points** Can't be beat for the money. Privet, comfortable, great view, location to major areas, and friendly owners. Thanks again, _Matt

Owner response: Thank you Matt! Glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope the fish are a little more hungry next time!

Spent three nights between Christmas and New Years with our family of 6 (adult children). Pros - Great views, easy access, nice open floor plan, pet friendly, kitchen is weel laid out, fireplace is nice. Cons - Seems like alot of deferred maintenance (unpainted things, loose handles, no towel bars, paint cans in the bedrooms etc.) and some unfinished items (like the plumbing parts under the beds). Our chief concern was that alot of the furniture seemed like it was going to fall apart at any time. Bar stools were loose, legs on the dining room table were wobbly, rungs on the chairs falling out, beds propped up with boards underneath etc. Luckily my husband had a tool kit in his car and tightened up the legs on the dining room table, fixed a chair leg or two, put a handle back on a pan etc. While the front steps were shoveled, we shoveled the rest of the access to the bayside of the house. The lack of internet was also an issue for us, although we knew in advance that it wasn't available, just be aware. Bringing all the linens was kind of a hassle, but again, we knew it in advance, so just be aware. Overall - the layout of the house is nice for families to hang out together and we had a good time. There are properties pretty close on both sides, but the lot itself is pretty spacious. We use VRBO properties alot, so we've seen better - but also alot worse! Just be prepared in advance with the necessary supplies.

Owner response: Thank you for your constructive feedback. We try to be clear about what to expect and what is necessary for guests to provide on their own. We will address the other issues you encountered.

Had a wonderful annual girls weekend at the dome house! House is in a great location for family fun. Saw deer everyday/ evening in the woods and running along the beach by the water. The waterfront area was a bit too mucky to venture out into the water, But there are nice beaches nearby for swimming. The sandy area was Perfect for bonfires and playing. Nice updates in the house, could have been a little bit cleaner when we arrived, but overall it was very comfortable for a long weekend stay.

The Dome was an awesome home. The 2 acres land were beautiful and very private. The beach was very large and no problem with "the so called muck"....this beach reminded us of a Scotland type beach? the dome was very updated, the kitchen was very open and useful for a large meal/BBQ one day. The dining and Great room were very large and more than enough space for guests! The 2 and a half baths were great for all to use. Bedrooms and Loft were as explained, nice. Sand Point on the Fowl Bay side is just simply awesome. We were minutes away from Gas Station, Groceries, Caseville and a short drive from Port Austin, Port hope, Bay Shores, Bay Port and Seabwimg. Even a drive to Bad Axe was easy going with all the wonderful scenery. One thing to mention, we were 6 miles form an awesome golf course and got the chance to play twice there. Overall we were very satisfied with the rental, the only concern was the Dome being in the wooded area and on the Bay.......the owner should keep the hoses hooked up......so the renters can spray the place down occasionally.........patio, door wall, windows, porch etc..., We are most likely going to booked this very place next year for two weeks.......

Cute spot but floors were not clean. The beach was too mucky for my kids to enjoy and the water didn't get deep enough to swim. We left a day early because the beds weren't comfortable and we couldn't get enough sleep.

We had a great time and so did the dogs. Everything was as advertised and the weather cooperated fully. We even saw the deer passing through which was mentioned in some other reviews. The only complaint was that there were no towel bars in the bathrooms but I saw them in boxes and no doubt this shortcoming will be corrected soon. Neighbors were friendly. The firepit on the beach was a bonus and there were plenty of beach chairs to go around for visiting family members. The view to the south was spectacular even at night. During the daytime we could see the windfarm across the bay and as proponents of alternate energy sources we were glad to see this in real life. All in all a good experience.

We had a blast at the octagon house! Every amenity was at hand and the view was spectacular. Dogs enjoyed walks on the huge beach, in the woods behind us; as well as across the street where we meandered along a pretty river path. Nights were chilly but the home was warm and cozy with a toasty fireplace. And we were even able to watch the Red Wings playoffs while grilling dinner - a very important perk for my boyfriend! Quiet setting made for great sleeping. And the deer! Appearing both right in front of our window and bounding through the woods - they made such a pretty scene and drove the dogs crazy! Great getaway that we really appreciated :)

When we got there it was easy to find with a G.P.S. The outside and inside of the house were very beautiful, they had a salt lick for the deer and they came right up to it, the view of the snow on the ice and the way the shoreline lit up at night was great. The fireplace was great I lived everything about this place. I will do it again some time this year. THANKS!
