Location, Location, Locaton. The easiest access to all sights with metro or by foot. Walk to Louvre, Notre Dame, Seine, St. Germain. We had incedible weather that week. Do not arrive early to this apt. as the cleaning will not be complete till much later in the afternoon. The apt. is relatively quite except for the jack hammering every morning for the renovations being done 2 doors up around corner. Of course your up and out to sightsee so that is not much of an issue. If taking the RER C to Versailles and CDG be sure to look at the TV monitor for the correct train to your destination. Be sure to get the security code to get in. All in all a great time. Another one off the bucket list. Cheers!

A Quiet and Comfy Apartment in a GREAT location.

We just returned from one week at this adorable apartment in the 6th. The street itself is exactly what one pictures a perfect Parisian Street to be. It is a quiet street, with few cars, but one block from Place St Michel (Metro and bus stop) and 1/2 block from the Seine. One block in the other direction is Rue St André des Arts with lots of shops and creperies. Rue St Michel also has a Monoprix for groceries, wine, and anything else you may need. The apartment itself was a perfect size for our family of four (2 adults/2 children). The beds were comfortable -- I am picky about pillows and had no problem sleeping! The kitchen is fully equipped and had everything we needed. (I see that a previous reviewer mentioned mice, but we did not see ANY evidence of mice -- and we live in an old house so we are used to dealing with them!) We did use the washer dryer, which was very convenient to have. The dryer takes a long time, but we found that if we put a pair of jeans on the towel warmer in the bathroom they dried overnight so it was not an issue. And we LOVED the towel warmer for cozy towels after the shower! The bathroom is small but clean and the shower was great with plenty of hot water. The tile in the shower is nice too. At night the apartment was very quiet and nice and dark -- no sense that we were just blocks away from all the business of St Michel/St Germain. From the location, we were able to walk to Notre Dame (5 min), the Louvre, 15 min, St Germain de Pres (10 min), Ladurée Bonaparte (10 min), and St Sulpice (10 min) among others. We also found the buses to be very convenient and easy to navigate and preferred them to the metro. If you have a chance, eat at Bistro d'Henri on Rue Princesse, and Au Bon St Pourcain on Rue Servandoni. Small bistros with excellent food (but make reservations as there are only a few tables.) Also don't miss Un Dimanche à Paris for pastries and macaron's. Also, if you are coming from Charles de Gaulle, you can take the RER B train to Notre Dame/St. Michel and the apartment is less than a five minute walk from the station. Really couldn't have been more convenient. I hope we can return again one day!

Location! Location! Location!

Date of Stay: 01/20/12 Review Submitted: 01/29/12

My wife and I just returned from a super week (Jan 2012) from Paris. The apartment we rented was perfect, couldn’t have asked for a better one. The location is just perfect, very close to the RER (“B” to and from CDG and “C” to and from Versailles) and the Metro which we took to everywhere we went within Paris. The apartment is within comfortable walking distance to the many attractions nearby (Notre Dame de Paris, Louvre, Musee D’Orsay, etc) as well as wonderful shops and restaurants in Boulevard St. Germain. There’s even a touring store just around the corner (France Tourisme) where we took a couple trips to Normandy (Mont St. Michel and Bayeaux/Omaha Beach). The apartment is so quiet even at the peak times of the day or night, it feels like you’re in the country. A grocery/department store is nearby where one can get everything (Monoprix on Boulevard St Michel and Boulevard St Germain). Thank you Marie for letting stay in your wonderful apartment, highly recommend this apartment for anyone wishing to be central to all the wonderful things in Paris!

Great flat, great location, but some complaints that owner should work on for next time

Guest: Co-op Mom (Hayward, CA `)
Date of Stay: 12/08/11 Review Submitted: 01/05/12

First, I goofed the time for meeting at the flat. 15:30 is NOT 5:30, it's 3:30, so if you aren't used to the European way of telling time, double check! So that was my bad & we missed our tour & explanation of the flat, but a key was left in a hiding spot & we were in after a couple of phone calls. Owner didn't offer to come by & show us anything, but we are industrious & figured everything out including the instant water heater (the shower'd be hot, then COLD, then the heater would kick in & it'd be fine) & the dials in french on the washer/dryer. The first night we arrived we'd been all over Switzerland and Germany, so we were tired, having traveled with two kids, aged 7 and 9. We hunkered down, shopped at the local grocery store & ate food from the many, many restaurants in close proximity to the flat (but no noise at all except minor from neighbors). Unfortunately the flat had 2-3 mice who had taken up residence under the fridge/washer area & they were bold. Ran across our feet & were instantly into all of our food items & all over & in our luggage. One chewed a hole in my clothes the first night before we stopped leaving our luggage open. Some special cookies we were trying to bring home from Germany got ruined & it was very difficult, esp. with kids, to make sure there was no food out at any time. Very disconcerting to find mouse feces all over the counters & table top in the morning each day. Put a damper on our whole vacation. The owner had left "poison" but honestly the mice were never attracted to it. When questioned about this, the owner said the flat was empty for 3 days prior to our coming & they thought they'd kill them all with the poison. Had I known this was an issue (stuff happens), I would have brought some traps or poison with me that would have solved the problem in a night or two. Other than sorry, there was no attempt made to make this major inconvenience up to us. Also, there were only two small rolls of toilet paper in the flat & no additional garbage bags for the bath or kitchen garbage. Frankly, I'd rather pay an extra 20 euro & not have to go buy toilet paper or bags, so that was an inconvenience. The flat itself was perfect for our family, close to everything & quiet. So, as long as there are no mice, I TOTALLY recommend it. And by supplying just a few more amenities like more toilet paper and extra bags, even if she charges, & warning you ahead if there are mice, the owner could make staying in this flat a perfect experience

This apartment was in an excellent location, just 2 blocks from Notre Dame. The metro stop was one block away. It was quiet and well maintained. The 2 beds were good sized, for 2 teenagers, my wife and I. The owner communicated with us promptly. I would return in a heartbeat. We had a great vacation.

Central location, quiet and comfortable

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here in May 2011. The apartment is one block from the RER station at Saint Michel, making transport into town from CDG airport very easy. It's a very short walk to major sites (Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle, the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Pompidou Center) and the Chatelet metro station - we couldn't have asked for a better location. Also only 1/2 block from many shops and restaurants. Despite the nearby buzz, the apartment is exceptionally quiet. (There was construction with jackhammers going on across the narrow street and we never noticed it while in the apartment.) The amount of space is ideal for two people. The bed is comfortable, the shower works well, and having a washing machine in the apartment is a great convenience.

My husband, daughter, and I enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. The location was perfect for our needs. It was so nice to be able to return to the quiet of the apartment after the hustle and bustle of the Latin Quarter. The apartment is light and airy, everything spotlessly clean with all the comforts we were looking for. Endless hot water for showers, lots of closet space. Loved the hardwood floors, skylights, and windows facing the courtyard. I would definitely stay here again.

BEST OF PARIS March 14 to 24 2011

Guest: SHAN (BOSTON,MA)
Date of Stay: 03/14/11 Review Submitted: 03/25/11

My daughter (15) and I went to Paris for 10 days and took this apartment after reading all the reviews. I was glad to stay here. It was just as she described. The owner and I were able to communicate promptly and effectively for any questions. The best part of this house is the location-it's very close to the Notre Dame and the metro stations near St. Michel fountain. Traveling was very easy from there and an RER B metro connection to the airport was right next door. It's a cute little flat perfect for two people, near the Latin Quarter and St. Germaine so we were able to explore the area as well as explore the rest of Paris with our house in the perfect spot. We could also walk to the PNB parabas bank, Monoprix in a few minutes, walk to the market nearby to buy food, cook meals in the kitchen. The bed was very comfy, linens and towels were very clean, kitchen is high quality with good cooking dishes, you can have a great BF at home before you head out.The toilet is tiny but has a sink next to it.I loved the towel heater. there was no noise at night at all.the house is very secured and you could leave all valuables at home. We did cook dinner few times with fresh french vegetables. We took RER B train from CDG and went by CDG, we did go to Versailles twice since RER C stop is next door.We walked to LOUVRE, CONCORDE, CHAMPS ELLYSS, st german all the way to st supice. latin quarter and St Severin, Rue de buci, St. Ille louis to have BERTHILLON ice cream, but we loved AMORINO next door.I recommend these places, LADUREE Macaroons and a great dinner on Champs Elllysse, PATRICK ROGER chocolates, LA GRENIER NOTRE DAME FOR VEG FOOD, MAOZ IN LATIN QUARTER FOR FALAFAL , MARRIAGE FRERRE for tea, La Maison Du Chocolate, FAUCHON, AU BON MARCHE at Lebon Marche, CREPERE BEAUBORG at Pompidou. Dont miss watching NOTRE DAME at 11.30 pm for great illumination and walk home in 2 mins. Climb the Eiffel tower to 2nd floor at 5 pm stay for the sunset at the top and walk to Concorde for sparkly Eiffel tower.Make sure you walk along the seine river at sun set especially on ponte Neuf. All I can say that this house is in such a great location you can do lot more from here than any other location and Marie Angee was very helpful. The only negative was the hot water in the house but it is easy to fix it if she explained to you on your first day. Thank you for a great house. I will be back in 2 yrs. with my younger daughter.

Perfect location, well equipped

Date of Stay: 03/05/11 Review Submitted: 03/16/11

My daughter and I just returned from spring break vacation to Paris. We spent 9 days and this apartment really felt like home. Location could not be better. Not being used to a Metro system I had no idea how important it is to be close to one. This apartment is only 1 short block away from the metro and 1 block from RER B which is the most convenient and direct way to transfer from/to CDG airport (8.70 Euros one-way, takes about 30 minutes). The street is extremely quiet, but it is located only 1/2 block from the River Seine and 1/2 block from Rue St. Andre des Arts, a charming commercial street with restaurants, cheap eateries, and shops. A bakery is just around the corner for fresh baguette in the morning. About 2 blocks away, across from Place St. Michel, is Rue de la Huchette in the Latin Quarter loaded which an incredible variety of cheap restaurants (many ethnic ones) - great for your budget. The apartment is on the second floor and is accessed through a spiral staircase. Having to haul our 45-50 pound suitcases up and down the stairs we were glad that we had to deal with only one flight of stairs (most of the apartments that I saw were on the 3rd-5th floors; remember, these are very old buildings, so NO elevators). The courtyard is a small patio surrounded by apartments, so don't expect a view (but you don't have to deal with street noise, which is a huge plus) . Since the neighbors' windows are fairly close we kept the blinds closed for privacy but still had plenty of light coming in through lots of skylights. Don't expect a large apartment (US style) or luxury (you can expect to pay 2-4 times more in that case), but we found the apartment/studio to be very comfortable and spacious for the two of us and well equipped with a nice size kitchenette with gas stove, oven, microwave, decent size sink, small fridge, dishwasher (did not use - faster to hand wash the few dishes that we used), and even a small washer that doubles up as a dryer. There is a small flat-screen TV, WI-FI, and free international calls to land lines (loved this feature!). Great water pressure and unlimited hot water in the shower (thanks to an instant gas water heater). Toilet stall is small, but unless you are significantly overweight or very tall it should not be an issue (plus from what I have heard this is the norm in Paris). We were lucky and got to meet the owner, Marie-Ange when we arrived. She is very nice and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend.

Our family of three had the most wonderful time in Paris in Dec. The apartment is in the most perfect location, you could not ask for more. We walked to many locations and when we needed the metro it was just around the corner. The apartment offers all you could wish for and while it is small we found it more than met the needs of a couple and an 11 year old boy. Wi Fi, DVD and free phone calls overseas made life very easy. The price for the week was extremely reasonable and I would highly recommend this apartment.

A GREAT experience in Paris

Guest: Fred (Wilmington, DE)
Date of Stay: 11/19/10 Review Submitted: 12/28/10

Our vacation to Paris could not have been more pleasant and enjoyable, and especially because of the apartment that we rented. We were literally a half of a block off the Seine River, and 5 minutes from Notre Dame, located in the Latin Quarter. It was in the heart of so much of Paris. The subway lines and RER were a half block away, so both walking or traveling by public transportation was easy. So we walked to Notre Dame, to Ste. Chapelle, the Pantheon, past the Sorbonne, The D'Orsay Museum, The Luxembourg Gardens, and throughtout the shops and stores in the Latin Quarter. Because this site is so central in Paris, the subway trips to other sites (Arc de Triumph, Eiffel Tower, etc. . . were just short trips. Also, we didn't realize it until we were making final travel plans from the airport (Charles de Gaulle), that the subway stop at St. Michel is a straight shot from the airport. No transfers, etc. This made our arrival so very easy. A half block and around the corner. . presto, our central Paris apartment!! The owner was responsive to our contacts. The space was just as advertised. It was very clean, more than appropriate for our stay. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by a relative of the owner. We were visiting our son who lives in Paris and he simply could not get over how ideal the site was for enjoying, visiting, experiencing Paris. We were but a step away from great restaurants, numerous museums, etc. We did a lot of walking in the arrondissements, especially those just north and south of the Seine. In addition, since we visited in late November, when it was pretty cold, we just loved returning to the apartment, for the heat was on and such a pleasant welcome it provided. When we return to Paris, there is no reason why we won't seek this same beautiful apartment.

The apartment is a great place to see and experience the best of Paris. Less than 200 meters from the metro and RER stops it is possible to get any where inside or outside of Paris with ease. Taking the train from the CDG airport leaves you with a three minute walk to the apartment. St. Germain is a fabulous part of the city and you just can't go wrong here. Quiet, clean and fairly priced, I'll be back to 11 Rue Git le Coeur!

I stayed in this lovely apartment with my two teenage daughters. First of all, the location is ideal. We rode the RER from CDG airport, and walked the block and a half to the apt. A friend of the owners let us into the apt. at 9:30 AM, so we were able to settle in, freshen up, and begin our sightseeing right upon on arrival. (Walked to Notre Dame, St. Chapelle, etc). The apt was very clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower had ample hot water, and the kitchen was well appointed. There are numerous restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, etc. within easy walking distance. We rode the Metro daily and prowled the streets for dinner each evening. Maire-Ange was pleasant and helpful when I called with simple housekeeping questions. Would highly recommend this apt and neighbor!!!

My wife and I stayed here for our 9-day Paris vacation and it was great. First of all, its conveniently located – you are about a block away from RER station that gets you from/to the airports and a few yards from St Michel metro station, and sightseeing begins at your door step with Place St Michel, Notre Dame, and more. The data and photos provided are accurate and the owner is very helpful and organized, even providing guests with list & location of nearest/best stores, restaurants and markets – and there are plenty around. I’d recommend this stay to anyone wanting to explore Paris and it’s definitely at the top of our list for the next time around.

We had an amazing first trip to Paris, thanks to this perfectly located and well-furnished apartment. The owner was always quick to reply and helpful with any questions that we had. The person who met us, Emilie was prompt, kind, and very helpful. We were very busy during this trip, so it was nice to have such a calm, quiet, and clean place to relax in at the end of the day. Even with 4 adults and a two-year- old, we felt that we had plenty of room. We were able to walk to most of the sights, the neighborhood was very charming, and the metro stop was very close. If we visit Paris again (and we hope to!) we will stay in this apartment again. Highly reccommended!

Just had a great 3 weeks in Paris, thanks in large part to Marie-Ange's centrally located apartment. Right next to Place St Michel, with easy access to the Metro, bus lines and the SNCF. Notre Dame, St Chapelle, Louvre all an easy walk. Apartment .. spacious, recently renovated with a great new shower facility, plenty of hot water and a convenient clothes WD. Emilie was of great assistance both at the beginning and end of stay .. over-all a very good experience.

This is a great place because of the location which is very central but yet the building is incredibly quiet. The apartment is off a courtyard so there is no noise. You can tell it was recently renovated and the decor is tasteful and uncluttered. It's also well stocked with guidebooks. Our family of four stayed here and it was fine for the week we were here. We appreciated Laurence's good help at the beginning and Marie Ange's immediate responses to our questions. As a bonus, calls to land lines in US, Canada and Europe are free which was a nice surprise.

NIce, quirky apartment in a good location. Quiet spot, just down the street from a busy area of restaurants, shops and bars. One minute from the Metro and RER, the Seine, bakery. Two minutes from Notre Dame, 10 minutes from the Louvre. Positives: No car necessary. Well equiped kitchen area. Comfortable beds. Decent lighting. Very quiet and private. Clean. Well managed. Negatives: small toilet room off of living area affords little privacy, nor does the bath and sink. No view or balcony from window on small courtyard. Squeaky floor. Small TV with no English language cable. No stereo or radio.

Owner response:Right : toilets are small, don't forget that you are in the old Paris center in an antique building . The view is on the courtyard , that is writed on the website with a picture of it . The floor is in wood .The TV is small . Wrong: As I offer cable tv radio and cd mp3 dvd players , I want to rectify that, may be the renter didn't find how it works, in this case I don't understand why he didn't call me by phone, that is free from the flat .

This property's location is so magnificent that every morning when you go outside you are immediately the star of your own French film. The spectacular St. Michel fountain is 1/2 block away. It is easy walking distance to the Louvre and steps to Notre Dame. Despite this it is utterly quiet, peaceful, and private...the windows open onto a central courtyard that is blissfully silent. The owners are very nice and helpful. The flat is clean, and well maintained. This is not a luxury property, it is a bit on the artsy side, with a tiny bathroom and small shower area. The bed is very comfortable and large. There are literally a hundred choices of places to eat within 5 blocks from fine restaurants, to bistros, and convenient take away stands. Two Starbucks within 6 blocks for those who must have that. It was fun getting ready every morning for the week we stayed in this apartment, and the perfect place to relax after a long day of walking and sightseeing. We loved it!

This apartment is in a wonderful location and it's quiet even though you're in the middle of lively neighborhoods. The apartment was clean, spacious and has everything you need plus a very comfortable bed. We just thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the most beautiful city in the world.

The apartment is in such a great, convenienet location. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood of St. Michel, St. Germain des Pres. and to the major sights such as Notre Dame, the Pantheon, museums. We had such a lovely time in Paris and definately would love to come back and stay at your apartment!!

Great little apartment really in the center of everything. Easy access to metro, close parking garage, close to good grocery, fruit stands, and other very good stores, including great used book stores and a game store. My grandsons and I rented it for two weeks and really felt like we were living in Paris.

Our family spent a comfortable week here in April 07. The apartment is basic, but very functional -- as it is described in the website is completely accurate. The kitchen was well-appointed, and we used it a lot in our week. The laundry and all appliances worked very well. Excellent water pressure for the shower and sinks. Both the bed and sleep-sofa were comfortable. It was very quiet, and we slept with the windows open the whole week because of the warm weather! You cannot beat this location at this price. You can either walk to many major sights and shopping, or the metro is within two blocks. Even just walking around the immediate neighborhood was pleasant, day or night. Thanks to Marie and Laurence for an enjoyable stay! We would definitely stay here again!

This apartment was just right for my family, and in the perfect location for a home base. Its on a quiet street only a few minutes to lots of action and a short five minute walk to a great bakery, grocery store, wine shop etc. I'd definately stay here again, a good value to be sure.

Just a note to let you know how much we enjoyed our time in Paris. The apartment was clean, comfortable, spacious and quiet (except on the night of the football final when revelers were drinking and singing outside the pubs at either end of rue Gite le Coeur!) The apt. is an easy walk to the RER station for the train to and from the airport. Great location for walking to all sorts of interesting places and charming restaurants. Highly recommended.

I have been to Paris many times but always stayed with friends. This was a special trip with my brother and sister and we chose this apartment on- line because of the very convenient location, the sun-filled rooms, and the street name. It more than lived up to expectations. The partment is on the left bank within easy walking distance of museums, the Pantheon, Luxumberg Gardens (for those who like to run or bike), Notre Dame, and many nice cafes and restuarants. In addition it is only 1 block from the RER stop (by far the best way to enter Paris from CDG airport) and the metro. It is very conveniently furnished with enough cookware to even have company. I invited several Parisian friends over for dinner and they were amazed by the great place I had found. In fact one of them wants to put up relatives here. The apartment is in am historic bulding with primarily permanent residents and all of the quirky features that make older Paris apartments so charming. Marie and her asistant Guilhemine were extremely helpful throughout. I have seen many living places in Paris, both residences and hotels, and this is really exceptional. My brother and sister also thoroughly enjoyed their stay and felt that the apartment was a great experience. Finally, I should mention that the apartment has free Wi-Fi. This enabled my brother to complete some university assignments and for the rest of us to stay connected. Thank you Marie for the great place.

The location of the flat could not have been more convenient. A quiet side street but yet only a few hundred yards from the Seine. The St Michel--Latin Quarter area is the best for almost anything you want to do and the closeness of the METRO and RER stations are very convenient. The flat itself is quiet and has easy access. Because of the full kitchen, we were able to eat our breakfasts there and because of the washer and dryer, able to pack less for our trip. Our experience was quite positive and certainly better than staying in a cramped hotel room.

Thank you Marie-Ange.We very much appreciate your organization and the convenience of booking the apartment and receiving the directions and instructions for arrival by e-mail. Your apartment was the perfect oasis for my husband, my two sisters and I who were adventurous enough to travel together for a trip of a life-time to Paris and then Normandy and Brittany. We took advantage of the RER from Charles de Gaulle airport to Ste. Michel station. It was then just a short walk to the apartment. We all agreed that the apartment was the perfect location to stay while visiting Paris. If we had not been staying in the area we believe that we would have been taking a bus or metro daily to the area. We walked everywhere. I wore a step counter and everyday broke the previous day’s record. Our last day we recorded over 25,000 steps and loved every minute of “eye candy” sights. My husband was first up and out in the morning to give his 3 girls time to pull themselves together. Then he arrived back with fresh hot croissants from a local bakery as an appropriate start to our daily Paris adventures. We frequented the local restaurants, internet café and shops. Close by and one of the highlights of our trip as well as a complete surprise were The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries at the Musee de Cluny. We will highly recommend your apartment to our friends and acquaintances that plan on visiting your beautiful city and county. Suzanne Melville – St. Catharines, Ontario Canada

We had such an awsome time in Paris! This appartment is very so cute, convience, cozy, and in a great location! I really like the Saint Michel area, lots of fun activities, good place to eat and do grocery, and central to many attractions! I missed the walking up and down the little cute streets around the neighborhood. This appartment did made a plus to my visit in Paris. Marie and her assistants are very responsive and helpful. The next time I visit Paris again, I will definitely try to contact Marie and hope to stay at this appartment.

My college aged daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Paris December 4-14, 2005, in part due to Marie's Apartment! The location is perfect for both train (CDG and Orly airports)and subway transportation, and it is central to reaching all major museums, historic sights, and shopping. In addition, it is a "stone's throw" from the River Seine, which is lovely to walk along day or night. Grocery shopping is a short walk, and there are plenty of reasonably priced eateries nearby including the outdoor stall vendors as well as small street-side establishments. There is even very nearby underground parking if you should want to rent a car for part of your stay to take a couple of day trips out of the city, as we did. (However all of the warnings of crazy Paris drivers and traffic are entirely true....worse than New York City or Boston, so think twice before using anything but your feet and public transportation!) Marie was readily available by phone for any questions, and the assistant who met us to greet us at the start of our stay, was very nice. We covered a lot of territory during our stay because of the great location and easy access to public transportation, and will stay at Marie's place any time we return to this magnificent city of Paris!

Bonjour Madame Marie Ange de Sonis, We had a wonderful time in Paris and thoroughly enjoyed your apartment. It was a great location, and I would not have wanted to stay anywhere else. I may be in Paris next summer for the Paris Air Show, and if I do, I will certainly contact you early for another rental period. Thanks, Matt
