My husband and I are Florida natives growing up in Palm Beach County. We have been vacationing in the Florida Keys for the past 14 years. It was always our dream to own a home in the Keys and it has finally come true. We found the perfect home in Little Torch Key away from the crowds of the upper keys but close enough to Key West and Marathon. Looe Key Reef is something not to be missed. Little Torch Key is a friendly town where I have noticed that the locals actually call you by name. My husband and I know what renters look for because we were renters. He takes care of the things the guys look for while I know what the woman looks for. We are sure our home will fill all your needs. Check us out....We will be adding features as time goes by!!!

This is a very nice home in a very quiet area. Our family of four found had a terrific week. For the boaters, you will appreciate the public boat ramp just 2 blocks away... and an awesome ice machine and a bait freezer. You are not far from the restaurants and attractions of both Key West and Marathon. We've rented in the Keys during June for about 15 years and Sea Shells was cutest place. It's newly painted inside and out and very clean. We hope to be back again next year.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Our family spent a week at Sea Shells the first week of June. As avid kayakers, we have camped and rented homes throughout the Keys. This home is the perfect location for your Keys stay, only a short drive to the beautiful Bahia Honda State Park, the fun of Key West, plenty of places to explore the back country by boat or kayak, or simply relax in the quiet of the back porch. After a day of sun and fun, you can enjoy a wonderful meal at The Square Grouper (Cudjoe Key), Boondocks (only a couple of miles away-great fish tacos!) or No Name Pub (Big Pine Key-everything is awesome). But the best part of renting is cooking at "home". Stop by the Winn Dixie only 10 minutes away on Big Pine, or our favorite, Summerland Seafood (MM25) and throw dinner on the grill by the canal. Perhaps the greatest part of the trip was our 2 dogs were able to enjoy the Keys for the first time. Being small and Florida dogs, the stairs took some getting used to, but they just couldn't resist hanging out in the fenced yard at every opportunity. Dan and Sharon (the owners) do all they can to help make your stay the best it can be. The Keys has become our annual family vacation and look forward to staying again at Sea Shells! P.S. We will gladly pass on information to future vacationers looking for beautiful and secluded places to kayak within a short drive of the house-no need for a powerboat to enjoy the beauty of the Keys!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Oh my! How nice of you. We are so glad you had a great vacation. It is a wonderful house and so quiet compared to the upper keys. It really has everything to offer and what makes it all great is having great people like you staying there and enjoying the Florida Keys. Thank you for being our guests and we really mean it. Sharon and Dan

This home was spotless and so well maintained. A perfect spot for a family vacation. The fishing was excellent: our son came home with wahoo, grouper, snapper, mackerel, etc. He is an avid fisherman and far prefers this location to the very crowded Islamorada. The icemaker and freezer were godsends. We also picked up a mooring on the reef one day and had a great day snorkeling. Then to cap it off, we were visited by a Goliath Grouper parked in the dhade under our boat. It was the size of a manatee, only longer. We fed him mackerel, swam with him and videoed the experience. We heard that the charter boats from Looe Key charters regularly feed these huge fish, hence their tameness. We played golf in Key West, did the Hemingway house, had several days exploring. The Cheese Steak Hoagies and Cuban sandwich at the No Name pub were reallllly good. Boondocks is alot of fun. We are going to make this an annual vacation spot. Thanks, Sharon & Dan! PS: Our dogs loved it too and got plenty of exercise swimming in the canal with us and walking the island.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Dear Mary, It was our pleasure to have you. Thank you so much for the kind words. We do try to give our renters what we know we would want. I am glad you will be coming back. Book early. We have been blessed with great people. You may arrive as strangers but you leave as friends. Sharon & Dan Crossley

We just left the "Sea Shells" a couple of days ago after spending all of January and February there. They say it's good to be back home, but I feel like we just left home. Here it is 37 degrees and windy in Chippewa Lake, Ohio and I miss the "Sea Shells". We had a great time. The owners, Dan and Sharon are terrific. Dan helped us with advice about buying a boat, and we ended up with a nice 21' walkaround fishing boat which we docked at the house. It was great to be able to get up in the morning and head out to the reef to go fishing. We were able to spend quite a lot of time fishing and when it was too windy, we could lounge around the house reading or writing. It was also nice to be able to take a morning walk the length of Little Torch Key which is about a mile to the end of the road. When we wanted some culture, we would just hop in the car and head to Key West to watch a movie at the Tropic Cinema, or lay on Higgs Beach, have a great dinner, our favorite was Kelly's Caribbean Bar/Grill on the corner of Caroline and Whitehead, take in a play at the Waterfront or Red Barn theaters, or hear some great music at one of the bars on Duval Street. Key West has it all, except of course the laid back quiet of "Sea Shells". The house itself is wonderfully comfortable. The large living, dining, kitchen area opens up to a screened in porch overlooking the canal. We spent many magical evenings on that porch. It was also our favorite breakfast spot where we liked to sit with a cup of coffee and read the paper. We were able to park our brand new truck in the garage to keep it out of the sun. The garage was a nice place in the shade to work up some wire leaders for those toothy mackerels. By the way, Cero mackerel is very good eating. There's also a brand new ice machine in the garage. Anyway, we already made our reservations with Dan and Sharon for next winter and I can't wait.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: We were the fortunate ones to have such nice people staying in our home in the Keys. WE can't wait to see you next year. Thank you for the kind words. We really do appreciate you. Thanks again, Sharon

We were fortunate to be able to stay at this home. If you travel to the Keys be sure you check out this home. This is not a rental this is a warm friendly place to stay and play while you are in the Keys. We are property owners in Pensylvania and we can tell you from experience that the owners have put there heart into this property. The name Sea Shells is dead on, the knobs on the cabinets are Conch Shells. This may be a 2 BR but there is plenty of room. If you are a fisherman this would be a dream come true. There is a deep water canal that leads out to the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. You have everything you need to have a vacation of a lifetime. The owners are very personable and friendly. When you talk to them you get the feeling they would live next door to you. They really want you to have a good time on your vacation. The proprety is close to everything you need. You are 30 minutes from Key West and 5 minutes to grocery and drug stores. We loved this place so much we have booked this property again for next year.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: We are happy you had a good time and look forward to your next October stay. We really do try to give our renters everything they need to have a wonderful vacation except NO RAIN!!!!!! Thank you for the kind words! Sharon & Dan

I love this property! It is located on a canal that leads right to the big water! Boat ramp is one block away and yard is fenced for pets or kids. Property has dock space and place for cleaning the catch of the day. Garage is under house and great for any storage. We had rain during our visit, but still had a great time. House had all necessary accomodations. We're going back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This is a great family rental home! The home was very clean, spacious, and had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. The location was so close the boat ramp, and only minutes to get out to the open water. The kids enjoyed snorkeling in the canal out back, and there was good fishing in there too. The grocery store and marina were also close by. Little Torch Key is the perfect location and is convenient to so many places; Looe Key, Key West, the Contents, good restaurants, etc. The yard is fenced, and great for pets. Looking forward to coming back again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.
