We stayed at Whispering Pines in August for 2 weeks, shortly before Hurricane Irene hit the region. We're so glad to see the property is up and running, and apparently has survived no worse for wear. This place is absolutely charming, so comfortable and thoughtfully furnished and well-maintained. It was exactly what we needed to escape our hectic and nature-deprived lives in the city. Nearby Lowell Lake is fabulous for hiking and swimming. Local farmers' markets are great. We did a whole lot of nuthin', which was just what the doctor ordered. Also, the owner is extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you! We hope to be back!

We stayed for 2 nights mid June 2011 and had a wonderful experience at this cabin. It is located in the woods with plenty of places to explore, a great brook in the back yard with some minnows swimming by. The owner was very accommodating and the cabin had all of the necessities and more. A great get away especially with a kid.
Owner response:Thanks for the nice review. Glad you enjoyed Whispering Pines.

Thank you so much for enabling us to create such wonderful memories at your cabin for our honeymoon. We are certainly going to be in touch with you sometime about a repeat visit!!! My wife and I (wow that is still weird to say) must thank you for the bottle of wine as that was a very nice gesture. You have a lovely spot in the middle of an amazing place and we can't wait to return someday. We also agreed that once we have children it will also be a great place to bring them as well. Again, thank you so much for doing what you do. We agreed that it was the PERFECT honeymoon for us and our little slice of heaven that we know we can and WILL retreat back to again and again.

Thank you so much for opening your wonderful Vermont getaway to us. What a wonderful setting and so cozy and everything you need and want so carefully arranged. We loved the decor and the layout. The weekend was a great combination of relaxing and exploring the area. We snow shoed around Lake Lowell, checked out the town, got some great bread at the Baba Louie bakery and went to Weston on Sunday. We have gone to the Weston Priory in years past and really enjoy the service there. On the way home we went to the Vermont Country Store and the restaurant next door. A really nice last day for our weekend.

Our 4 day stay at Whispering Pines in October 2007 was THE perfect, cozy log cabin experience. We used the location as our base as we travelled on all the backroads through the area - "leaf peeping", antiquing, visiting small towns and villages. The cabin is well-equipped - an ideal setting for a delightful Vermont vacation.

We had a blast in Vermont even though it rained a bit!! Hamilton falls were beautiful as was the walk around Lowell lake. I bought way too many antiques at the stone house shop as well!! We hope to come back very very soon.

I just wanted to thank you for lending us you beautiful cabin. It was very inviting, cozy, and comfortable. It even snowed enough to excite the kids. Everything was great, in fact, better than described. We're looking forward to doing this again.

We truly enjoyed our time at your cabin... what a wonderful place! The kids had the best time and we enjoyed watching them explore a world that was new to them... we even heard a moose in the woods! My step-son had such a blast that he would only leave if we promised him a return visit.

We have stayed at Whispering Pines twice now, once in the fall and once in winter, and we completely enjoyed both our stays. During the fall we hiked in the mountains and spent some time antiquing in nearby Chester. During the winter we skied at nearby Okemo Mountain and had a fabulous dinner at “The Garden,” which is only five minutes from the Cabin. I can’t think of a better place to spend a few days collecting oneself from the rigors of life. I highly recommend this Cabin for anyone in need of solitude and mountain air!

What a wonderful time we had the Whispering Pines during February break. The first day we spent shopping in Manchester, VT and we ate at the Sirloin Saloon. The food was very good. It was a great first day. The next day, Katie and I went skiing at Bromley. They made a lot of snow, so the skiing was very good until later in the day when it started to get icy. Cindy went back into Manchester to scout around. She picked us up around 2pm and we all went back to Manchester for one last shopping trip. There is so much to see there. The next morning Cindy and I went for a walk through the woods to the back of the golf course. We walked over the beaver dam but didn't see any activity. The cabin is unique and very relaxing. We played games and had a fun time as a family. Thanks for offering your cabin it was a very memorable trip.

We are back from our beautiful stay at Whispering Pines. We all were extremely satisfied with our accomodations and your wonderful property! We enjoyed ourselves so much, thank you. We enjoyed the wine after horseback riding, that was very kind of you! We hiked Hamilton Falls, went to VINS and saw a rapture show, horseback riding, traveled around the gorgeous state of Vermont. The cabin is so quaint and lovely, you work very hard to keep such a wonderful place. We all look forward to another stay at Whispering Pines!! Our 3rd annual girls weekend was a huge success, thanks again!

The stay was too short! We fell in love with the area and want to come back. Your cabin was so charming - it's a keeper. We felt so comfortable and relaxed during our stay - we blew bubbles off the deck to celebrate our 27th anniversary weekend.

The cabin is really amazing! The rustic charm of the log construction, the tasteful appropriate decorating. Cozy yet ample rooms and modern appliances all made this one of our best vacations ever! We loved everything. The area is nice and quiet and has many nice touches like the deck, firepit, hammock & brook. The swing on the porch was used by all. We really like how the cabin seems to be nestled back in the woods but is easy to find and all attractions are easily accessible. We had a blast and hope to do it again soon!

It was a blessed break for both of us. The weather on both days was spectacular and we rested, ate, read, and "snowshoed" around the golf course. Lots of others had been there too by the tracks, but we had it all to ourselves on Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed all the people that we met, including someone on the road who kindly directed us to Popple Dungeon Hill Road (we found the sign in the snow bank later on!) This name must have a good story we figured…and would love to know what it is!

Thank YOU for sharing your treasure. We loved everything about the cabin and no one wanted to leave. We had a big sledding event on the golf course. We had card games, reading time, and took some time to look through all of our Christmas cards next a nice warm fire. The girls asked, "can we get some hand cream and soap just like the ones here?". Loved the thick quilts. Luckily the snow at Okemo held up for us. Thank you again for sharing your place, it really was a very special treat for our family.

My fiance, David and I had a wonderful time in the serene, quiet, cozy cabin. We could not believe how welcomed we felt to see all the ameneties, including the special touches in the cabin. Loved it! Great for a romantic get-away, or a family vacation spot. We will be back, and next time, I will bring my 11-yr. old son, Jason, who will love the tree house and brook to go fishing in - not to mention canoeing in nearby Lowell Lake. THUMBS UP, for sure!

With my parents visiting from our home country New Zealand we had a wonderful stay at Whispering Pines cabin. It was immaculately presented and with an abundance of firewood we stayed toasty on the chilly nights. We will definitely be back.. what more can I say!!

The wonderful thing about Whispering Pines is that even if the weather is not very nice, it is a pleasure to stay inside, enjoying the nice decoration, dreaming on the couch, playing games, drinking tea while listening to the rain, making fire... Our stay will remain as a wonderful relaxing, peaceful time. Whispering Pines is a romantic hidden place...

Something about the fresh air, quiet, a walk and wine, makes for a fantastic night's sleep and builds an appetite. Whispering Pines murmers quietly in your mind...."Come back, come back..."
