This beautiful, three-story home has a Charleston look with pine floors on the first floor, which features the living, dining, and kitchen area. Also on the first floor is a bath and large bedroom with four bunks for the kids and a large play area. The upscale kitchen features stainless steel/black appliances with granite counters. There are two very spacious bedrooms on the second floor (front and back for privacy) with king-size beds, en suite baths, and private porches.
The master suite has a whirlpool tub. The large, third-floor entertainment area has a sink, refrigerator, full bath, a trundle day bed, and porches in the front and back providing peeks of the Gulf and horizon views of the magnificent sunsets we enjoy on the Emerald Coast. FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT. Of course, the beach and pool are the prime family attractions at THE LEARNING HOUSE, but there is much more nearby. Rides, shows,and other attractions, including Shipwreck Island Water Park in Panama City Beach.
To the west you will find Silver Sands Factory Outlet stores along with all of the amenities of Destin, along with Staff's famous restuarant, a Ft. Walton tradition. If you would like to take a little drive to Pensacola, the Naval Air Station (home of the famous Blue Angels) is host to an outstanding air museum, free of charge.
GOLF. The bag drop at Tom Fazio's Camp Creek Golf Course is only a five minute drive. Many other fine courses are nearby, including Hombre (a site for Qualifying School for the 2002 and 2004 PGA Tour); Bay Point (two courses, Lagoon Legend with its 152 slope Club Meadows course); Fred Couples' Kelly Plantation; Regatta Bay; Holiday and Signal Hill (perhaps best values you'll find); Greg Norman's Shark's Tooth (private, but with restricted public access) and Santa Rosa Beach.
FISHING, HIKING, BIKING, BLADING, KAYAKING. Deep-sea fishing is at its best a few miles west out of Ft. Walton, the world's luckiest fishing village. Big ones also lurk in the nearby bay waters. The paved trail along 30-A is great for bikers, hikers and bladers with easy access to State Parks, particularly Deer Lake and Grayton Beach State Parks, with beach access and incredible views of the gulf, sand dunes and coastal dune lakes with their very unique ecosystems.
NATURALLY CERTIFIED. Visitors who enjoy trekking off the beaten path to enjoy 25,000 acres of protected and preserved lands are in for a real treat. Through Beaches of South Walton’s Nature Based Certification Program, area outfitters and tour operators are becoming certified to deliver an accurate natural experience to visitors. The certification includes a Master Naturalist Course from the University of Florida and guarantees the tour operates under environmentally sound principles that contribute to conservation, protection and enjoyment of area resources.
SUPER RESTAURANTS. Borago's, Fish out of Water, Cafe Thirty A and Creolia's are within minutes from THE LEARNING HOUSE, as are many casual dining spots, including the world famous Red Bar in Grayton Beach, Bayou Bill's and the Spicy Noodle.
SEASIDE IS ABOUT A 10 MINUTE DRIVE WEST. Seaside (where Jim Carrey's film, The Truman Show was filmed) is to the west on 30-A, and a must-visit venue with its many shops, restaurants, markets, FREE family films on Friday nights and FREE summer concerts under the stars on Saturday nights, along with other cultural events.
