After waiting until almost the last minute to make reservations, we were skeptical about finding a nice place that would fit the needs of 4 adults and 3 teens (3 generations). Were we ever surprised to find a place like this!!! In a nutshell - it was great - the house, the furnishings, the view, the porch, the everything... The swing and the rocking chairs on the back porch were the favorite of the adults - hot coffee and great views in the morning and wine and great views in the evening - searching for more homes in the distance as the lights came on across mountains. I regret doing a truthful review of this house because that will only make it more difficult to reserve this wonderful house in the future. This old procrastinator will have to learn how to make reservations in a timely manner. I suggest that you do also.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We rented the house for a 90th birthday get-together. It met and exceeded all of our expectations. We have rented many vacation homes in many states and this one tops the list. The house was very clean with ample supplies in both the bathroom and kitchen. Excellent kitchen cookware, dinnerware, etc. The back porch/deck looks to the mountains in the west and is an excellent spot for watching the sunset. The house is located in a very quiet community. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone, especially those who might have mobility issues. Very nice ramp from the carport to the back porch and then very easy entry in to the great room. Downstairs bedrooms with bathrooms are a very nice plus.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We rented this lovely home as a girls' getaway during New Years weekend 2011-2012. The interior was in great condition - clean, spacious, comfortable and good amenities. The view off the back deck was wonderful. The bedrooms were a good size and each had an adjoining bathroom so no one had to share. Our three days went by much too quickly. We would return and recommend others.Recommended for: Girls getaway

This house was perfect for a weekend getaway. The kitchen was a dream to cook in and with the grocery store close by, cooking breakfast was easy to pull off. The recommended restaurant suggestions were excellent as well as the nearby attractions. The surplus of board games, firewood and soft cushy blankets made the nights entertainment thoroughly enjoyable. Great house- I will definitely be coming again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a terrific stay at this lovely mountain house. I would highly recommend this property. It is much nicer than the photos give it credit. The views off the back deck are wonderful. The property is very private and there is plenty to do nearby in Cashiers and Highlands. This property exceeded our expectations in every way. The house is beautifully appointed with every convenience one could desire. The views are stunning. We plan to go back as soon as possible and bring more close friends to enjoy the experience.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the house! The house is located in a gated community at the top of the mountain with spectacular views surrounding your from every direction. It's in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the area just minutes from downtown Cashiers and the Highlands. The views from the back of the house are absolutely amazing especially this time of year with all the fall colors. We took full advantage of all the luxuries the house has to offer. We spent every evening watching the sunset on the porch, sitting by the fire playing games, and enjoyed cooking meals in the fully equipped kitchen. Another perk of the house is every bathroom has a heated fan, which is wonderful early in the morning when it's cold!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from 4 days at this beautiful mountain home. The house is spectacular, fully equipped kitchen, wood burning fireplace, with wood ready to put on. The view is breathtaking. Some of the prettiest scenery I have ever seen. I would recommend this house for anyone wanting a stay in the beautiful NC mountains. Winter would be tricky getting up the "last hill." Close to spectacular watear falls and other hiking trails for those "outdoorsy" people and within 15 minutes of Highlands, which has some wonderful shopping venues, for us not 'outdoorsy" types.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I vacationed here twice, and we have plans to return soon because we love it so much. It has incredible mountain views that you can enjoy from the large back porch, living room, dining and kitchen. The kitchen is big and open, and you can have all of your meals at the large dining table as you look out at the beautiful mountain range. I cannot say enough about the view this house offers! There are windows across the entire first floor. There are 4 bedrooms each with its own bath. The master bathroom is lovely and allows you to enjoy a relaxing bath while watching the trees move in the wind out the window. The home was very clean and well-maintained. It is a very private location, and a home that you can relax in and enjoy nature from the swing or rocking chairs on the screened in porch. We have stayed in a few mountain homes before but this is by far our favorite!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I have stayed at this property several times in spring, summer, and fall with my grandchildren and also just with friends. The view is different from the porch each season and the sunset is incredibly beautiful. The house is well maintained and clean with very nice towels, linens, and a well equipped kitchen. There is a hair dryer in each bath. We like Horacio's and The Orchard for dinner and the Cornucopia for lunch. Love the shops in Cashiers and Highlands. The drive to Franklin, NC and Clayton, Ga are lovely.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I have stayed here on several occasions, both by ourselves and with a large group of people. I love this house! There is nothing negative to say about this property. It is as stunning in the summer as it is with snow on the ground. Everything thing is well maintained, and the views are incredible. I could sit on the back porch for the entire trip. Definately, a house to visit and make memoriesRecommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We absolutely loved this property! This was the cleanest and best maintained home that we have ever rented. Upon entering, our eyes were drawn to the beautiful stone fireplace that reaches to the ceiling of the great room that although large, the area feels cozy with comfy sofas and warm decor. Everything was as advertised, and the views were spectacular. We found a mountain trail close by that was a good hike. Our bedroom had a fireplace that warmed and made for a romantic atmosphere. The kitchen was big and the equipment was modern and it all worked. We have recommended this property to many friends and family. We plan to return in the fall to catch the leaves turning, that view will be beautiful. Have fun, we did!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My 2 girls and i love how conveniently located Cashiers and Highlands are, lots of great shopping and dining. We stayed at this beautiful mountain house with 3 other couples. There is ample space for everyone to find a few moments to themselves, or to gather in the huge open kitchen and living room for games and big meals. The sunsets on the porch swing are a perfect way to wind down in the evening while watching the sky change colors in the final minutes. Our group also enjoyed walks through the quiet neighborhood which is perched at the very top of a mountain and you can see views in every direction. Although there is plenty to see and do nearby, it is almost hard to leave the house while you are there! After staying in over 10 mountain houses, this one ranks at the top and we highly recommend it for anyone looking for a getaway.
