One of Georgetown's BEST.
One of Georgetown's BEST.
We spent several months searching for the perfect location to spend our 9-week sabbatical. After looking at several Georgetown locations, we picked this house and have not regretted it for the following reasons. 1. Close and quiet location in the historic district. You can walk to just about anything in town in a few minutes. The Clear Creek River is close enough to hear, the shops, restaurants and historic tours are all a short walk away. The town park and dog run are five minutes away. 2. Amazing outdoor adventures. The Georgetown Train, Guanella Pass, Georgetown Lake, bike trails, old mines, a 140 year old wagon trail and much more are all accessed right there in town. 3. Relaxing atmosphere. This house doesn’t feel like a vacation rental with old and outdated furnishings. It’s furnished with modern and comfortable furniture, a full kitchen, internet and cable. It’s clean, functional and the kind of place you would actually live in. 4. Amazing memories. From family down-time, summit hikes, the Georgetown dinner train, bike rides and much more, this place made hundreds of deposits into our family memory chest. 5. Great owners who are easy to work with, informed and responsive. If you’re looking for a place that is inviting, relaxing and comfortable, then this is the place for you! We’ll be back!

We had two familys with 3 kids and the house was amazing. Great views, nice and quiet, and very clean!!! It had everything you will need to vacation in it. Spices was in the pantry, detergent in the utility, snow sleds in the shed, and fire wood outside. The setup of the home is perfect for a two family vacation. Be careful because the steps to upstairs are kind of steep (def if you had a little to drink)!! Only thing i would change is no cable vision there. We will be a returning customer every other year from here on out.

We had a great time staying in this home for our vacation. It more than accomidated us all and the owners were outstanding. It is an older home but very well kept and clean. We had a couple minor issues that were fixed right away. We would love to stay here again and would reccoment it to our friends and family.

My HR department used the house for our yearly strategy retreat and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The description and pictures match the house perfectly. We loved how cozy it was and enjoyed having real wood fires. The house is a great escape and I'm hopeful to return some day.

Christmas Market Weekend
Christmas Market Weekend
We had a wonderful time in Georgetown. The house was quaint and comfortable. There were holiday decorations up which was a nice surprise and added a nice homey feel. The house was within a quick walk to the main shopping street. Overall, the experience was absolutely great and we hope to visit again.

We stayed with our two boys for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! I appreciated how well supplied the house was since we have stayed in rentals where we had to buy so many things - even dish soap! So it was great to not have to worry about anything like that. We loved all the restaurants in the town, but I would recommend to future guests to shop for groceries before arriving - I had trouble finding good produce / diapers in Georgetown. But the house was just perfect and we loved our stay! Boys especially loved the fireplace and throwing rocks in the creek!

An excellent experience from start to finish. The rental process and agreement were very straight forward and easy. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond to questions before and during our stay. The house very nicely decorated with all the accomodations one would desire on vacation. The house was clean and more spacious then i expected. (i would suggest one thing, bring your own DVD's, there are a few but no tv for evenings or rainy days, and it was relaxing late at night to start the fireplace, put in a movie and enjoy a glass of wine...but thats just me :-)) The neighborhood is extremely quiet and friendly, just a short walk to main street for shopping, and treats. We tried a few restaurants in town, the Alpine has great pizza. The Lucha Cantina was very good, service a bit slow but we werent in a hurry so it was worth the wait. Have to go to "cake" for the best cupcakes and all the ice cream shops were yum! The location was central to all the things we wanted to do and see, Mt Evans, Breckenridge, Rocky Mountain National Park, etc. If you want adventure, try the rafting at Liquid Descent. The employees and the experience were fantastic. Horseback riding, we drove through Guanella pass to Fairplay and went to Safari Ranch for a 2 hour horseback ride, no trail riding, so it was alot of fun. Bottom line is the place was great and we would visit it again and we would highly recommend it to family and friends and anyone else who is looking at this property on VRBO. This is not our first experience with VRBO and we are pleased to say the experience has been a good one.

Very Comfy and Relaxing
Very Comfy and Relaxing
We stayed at the "Cozy Mountain Getaway" for only two nights and one full day, but greatly enjoyed our short visit. The house is very inviting with a nice decor and comfortable furniture (including beds). We enjoyed sitting on the back patio, as well as in the kitchen or living room. One of my favorite things was that there were ample towels in the bathrooms so that everyone could dry both body and hair with separate towels. We also enjoyed every restaurant we tried (three total) -- that was a nice surprise for such a small town. If we are ever in that area of the world again, we would definitely go back. Thanks!

Christmas MarketGuest comment entered by owner
Well we may very well have started a new family tradition of Christmas Market the first weekend of December in Georgetown and staying at the McMichael house. Our girls had a blast and are bummed to go home. The house has been comfy and cozy during highs in the teens and snow! We have made some wonderful family memories that will stay with us forever. Thank you so very much!

Why the Owner Chose Georgetown:
We love Georgetown and the charm of the historic small town. It is close to Denver and skiing and has amazing views. Since we are not able to be in Georgetown all the time, we decided to rent it out so that other people can enjoy the space and have as much fun as we do.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Relaxing is our number one priority, but we also enjoy the malts at the soda shop, cupcakes from Cake, hiking and walking, playing at City Park, and skiing nearby.
