So you've decided on a holiday to Hawaii, picked the Big Island for its volcanoes and some of the best snorkeling around, now all you've got to do is find somewhere to stay, right? There's so many condos on the west coast, they all seem to have the same features, so which one do you choose? Our criteria were simple: as close to the beach as we can get, needs to have a pool, big enough to fit 5 people comfortably, and a splash of luxury would be nice! From here it was easy - every review for this condo raved about the place, and one look at the availability page showed that this was a popular spot. We jumped at a gap in the reservations which matched our travel plans. Communication with Natasha was easy, and here directions were clear. Payment was straightforward, and our security deposit was refunded promptly. The condo was everything we'd hoped for and more. Spotlessly clean, full stocked with every imaginable appliance, beach towels & toys for the kids, high quality furniture and fixtures throughout. Kolea beach club, with its pool, gym, and beach access is directly across the street. I even got in a round of golf at the Waikoloa Beach course! The location was perfect for us - the resort was uncrowded, great beaches we only a short drive away (when we wanted a change from the fantastic A'Bay) - I would recommend "69 Beach", about 15 minutes North. Spectacular helicopter tours depart from a heliport located about 5 minutes away, snorkeling & whale watch trips are accessible (after a 40 minute drive south) The Kings and Queens markets are very close by - great for souvenir shopping, but expect to pay virtually double the Kona prices for grocery items - make a trip to Safeway, Target or Costco in Kona for those. My only complaint - 5 days is way to short to enjoy everything that Hawaii, the Big Island, and this condo have to offer...next time we'll book it for a couple of weeks! Would I recommend this rental? – absolutely. **note - for some obscure reason, homeaway are not allowing me to refer to the property address (even though its listed in the property title, and in all the other reviews...go figure!)

My husband, two daughters, and I stayed in this beautiful condo for six nights in August 2012. It was a wonderful place to stay. The condo is beautifully appointed and has everything you need. There is a lot of room - three spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms, but our favorite "room" was the outdoor living space. We spent a lot of time there eating, talking, reading, and just enjoying the Hawaiian breeze. You can see the ocean from the condo, but only by looking between other buildings - it doesn't really have an ocean view. Building 10 is the closest building to the club area where there is a nice pool, a large hot tub, and an exercise room. The staff on duty in the office in the club area were very helpful; there's even a computer there that you can use if you didn't bring your own. The beach is around a three minute walk from the pool on a pretty path that goes by an old Hawaiian fish ponds. We were last in the Waikiloa area over 20 years ago, and it has changed a lot since then. There are good restaurants, upscale grocery stores, and terrific beaches nearby. We really enjoyed Hapuna Beach and the snorkeling at the Mauni Lani beach. Kolea 10D is a great place for a relaxing vacation. I hope we can return one day soon.

We had a great time staying at Kolea 10d. The unit is spacious and just as nice as the pictures and virtual tour here show. It is very nicely decorated, with some recent updates, and it still feels new. The location is fantastic. It is right across from the impressive swimming pool and the wonderful beach. We were traveling with kids ages two and six. The grassy area in front of the lanai was a great place for them to play. It is nicely separated from the road (which has virtually no traffic) by shrubs and lava rocks. While a second or third-floor unit might give you a better ocean view, with small children the convenience of the first floor is unbeatable. We rented a third-floor unit here before, but liked the first-floor 10d at least as well. While many rentals claim to be fully equipped, this one actually is. Everything you need for cooking and eating in is there. There are plenty of linens, towels, beach toys, boogie boards, and even a high chair (it was brand new and very nice) and play pens for small children. The owner (Natasha) is very responsive and accommodating. She usually responds to emails immediately. When a light bulb burned out, it was replaced within a couple of hours. We also got a very generous late check out. Overall, this is a great place for a family vacation. It easily accommodates four adults and two children. Kolea has the best location in Waikoloa Beach and 10d is one of the nicest units in this development.

My husband and I love the Kolea complex and picked this particular unit because it has the best access to the club house, exercise room and beach. Unit 10 D is very well equipped and has extremely comfortable furniture through out the unit. The pictures posted are very accurate and reflects the current amenities. The unit and complex is well maintained. If you don't feel like cooking there are several restaurants in walking distance. We found incredible prices for dinner through the happy hour held at Tommy Bahamas and Ruth Chris in the Mauna Lani Resort. I would highly recommend this particular unit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will book this particular unit again. Natasha at Fire and Ice was extremely helpful with our reservations. Very fast return on security deposit. No complaints

Marvelous unit, short walk to pool and beach, very pleasant view from the lanai. One of the best in the complex, we thought.

What a wonderful place to take our family. Very kid friendly, our unit was so handy to pool and beach. The units were very clean and equipped with everything you need. It was so nice to have all the beach and pool necessities. Our favorite area was the patio with the barbecue area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great only 25 min and you are in Kona or 90 min to Hilo. We hope to be back again.

We were impressed by the photos online and happy to find the actual property lived up to them. The unit was well appointed and had everything we needed. The sliding door opening onto the veranda gave the unit a great flow from indoors to out and we used the outdoor grill almost every day we were there. Would recommend this property to anyone looking to travel to Hawaii as a group or with family.

We cannot recommend this Villa more! I emailed Natasha to check to see if our dates (9/10/11 to9/18/11) were available, and she replied right away. We were able to sign the paperwork and pay online. It was really easy. The Villa is beautiful, with quality amenities evident throughout. We had a party of 5 adults and there was plenty of room for everyone. Everything you could need has been provided, including lots of extra towels, beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas, boogie boards, and even a rolling ice chest. The kitchen is well-stocked. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding is top of the line. The location is ideal, right across from the Beach Club and you can see the sunset from the lanai. For us, the best feature of Kolea, are the outdoor kitchens on the lanai. We loved our stay and are looking forward to returning to stay again soon. Thank you so much!

Our stay here was the best accommodations we have experienced in Hawaii. We have been regular visitors to the Islands for the past 25 years. Over that time we have stayed at many locations. This, by far, was the best we have seen. The central location in the heart of Waikoloa was close to shopping and golf. The condo was the most convenient proximity to the pool and the beach in the complex. The ground level allowed for our 2 and 5 year olds to safely play on the grass while we BBQ'd and relaxed on the lanai. The unit was fully stocked with every appliance and amenity imaginable. We especially appreciated the beach chairs, cooler and kids toys for the days on the water. Attention to detail was apparent with flashlights in the night stands and night lights for the kids. We cannot say enough! Our return to the Big Island will be dictated by the availability of this unit. Mahalo Natasha and Bill! Well done.

Our family of 5 ended 3 weeks of exploring the Big Island with a 3-night stay here, This rental was far and away the nicest of the 5 rental properties we stayed at during this vacation. What a great way to cap off a wonderful vacation! The Kolea condo was beautifully remodeled and equipped with everything we might need. The location on the ground floor just across from the Beach Club allowed for maximum use of the condo throughout the day as we came and went to the pool and beach. Our family will definitely return to this location on our next visit to the Island.
