House is 2 BR 1 BA mid-century modern home with fresh paint and newly-refinished hardwood floors throughout. Master bedroom has queen Sealy Posturepedic queen bed, second bed/office has brand new double Ikea foam futon. Large newly-tiled bath. Kitchen open to living room and has a dishwasher, disposal, microwave, stove, bottom-freezer fridge, coffeemaker, juicer, toaster oven and all pots/pans/silverware/dishes/equipment you could need for your stay. Gas grill outside too.
To me, the best part of this house is the outdoor space: big shady front porch and a covered dining area overlooking the flower garden as well as a cozy fire pot. Festive lights hung along fence and fresh herbs in garden for cutting. If not in the mood to grill/cook - walk to LOTS of neighborhood restaurants/bars/coffee shops.

This central neighborhood is close to the Univ. of Texas campus so it's full of cool old coffee shops, bars and restaurants. Visit 43rd and Duval for Hyde Park Grill, Mothers Vegetarian, Quackenbush Bakery, Julios Tex-Mex or Asti Italian restaurant. 51st Street has Foreign and Domestic, Drink Well and Work Horse Pub. 51st also has some great food trailers like Melvins, Biscuits and Groovy and Taco Bout It. Be sure to check out some of the new local favorites too - Kome Sushi or House Pizza - just four blocks away on Airport. House is only 3 miles away from downtown, and has a gated private parking space as well as easy street parking. City bus stop just a block away, with easy access to downtown, UT campus, Zilker Park (SXSW) and popular 7th/East Side.

Why the Owner Chose Hyde Park: The shady, tree-filled, historic neighborhood is quiet and very popular because it is close enough to downtown (10 minute drive) but also has plenty to do within easy walking distance. It's a rare walkable and bikeable neighborhood in otherwise very car-centric Austin.
