My husband Glenn, dog Zoe and I spent a wonderful, relaxing 5days at the Casita. We enjoyed visiting nearby lakes to let Zoe swim - as well as wading in Murphys Creek, wandering through the town, wine tasting, beer tasting for Glenn at Alchemys, and sitting out at night watching the multitude of stars - even saw 6 shooting stars in one night. The casita was very comfortable. The outdoor space was wonderful and well equipped. After a full day we would bring home dinner (used BBQ also), open a bottle of wine, turn on some music and enjoy a quiet evening. The location is perfect - close enough to town for convenience but far enough out for relaxation. Barbara, Chris, Titan and Bandito were perfect hosts. Available for recommendations and information but unobtrusive and respectful of our privacy. Titan and Bandito were a pleasure to be around and didn't mind Zoe visiting their home! I had been to this area years ago and have been waiting to share it with Glenn. We were very happy with our time at Murphys and can't imagine a better place for our home base!

Amazing Bachelorette Party Weekend

I have always wanted to stay in Murphy's...and I got my wish...and I think my fair godmother was watching out for me because our stay at Estate and Casita was so spectacular!!!! Outstanding views and property!!! We loved the kitchen (full kitchen with everything...utensils, plates, glasses, spices...you name it and it is there). Everything was very organized with easy instructions and notes...hot tub & out door BBQ. Loved the feeding the chickens and coy fish. Our dogs were also able to come...and loved loved their stay also. I felt so at peace and happy here...I can't wait to come back!! Everyone who came felt the very at home...all the way down to comfy beds and luxy bathrooms!!! I will never ever forget my stay!!! I miss everytime I think about it. You can tell this place was built with love...any may be my fairy godmother. ;)

Amazing home for a great weekend in Murphys

This home was more than we ever expected. What an awesome place to have a girl's weekend! The home itself is beautiful, huge, and very clean... Not to mention fresh eggs from chickens in the morning, a hot tub, outdoor grill, and a great outdoor space. We could have easily not left the house for the entire weekend, and just relaxed in the garden or on the patio reading and drinking wine, enjoying the tub, or exploring the grounds. I do not hesitate to recommend this VRBO, and home to return soon. Thanks!

My husband and I stayed in the casita for our anniversary and loved it! The owners are very welcoming and professional. This was so much better than staying in a hotel! Everything was very clean and we even had a newspaper left at our door. There were people renting out the house at the same time and we couldn't even tell they were there. Highly recommend this place!

Girlfriend Getaway

This house was perfect for our getaway! We rented both the house and the casita for the six of us and had the best time ever! Upon arrival we found an amazing house with treats on the counter waiting for us. Each morning after we let the chickens out and gathered eggs, we sat outside on the beautiful balcony overlooking the vineyard and pond drinking coffee and chatting about the days events. In the evenings we cooked devine dinners in the fabulous kitchen! During one of the afternoons we packed a picnic and after shopping in downtown Murphys we went to the winery just a quarter mile away from the house and had a wonderful time sharing wine while eating lunch out by the lake. This place is such a treat for anyone! And the Wildevines soaps and canned goods just added the perfect touch to our perfect weekend! It's crazy how you truely feel like it's home away from home. We will all look forward to coming back again next year and doing it all over again! Thanks for making our girlfriend getaway something we'll never forget!

Wonderful hospitality

An impromptu weekend escape to the Casita. The owners were wonderfully accomodating to us and our small family. The Casita is warm, comfortable, quiet and private. The full property is amazing and in the morning we explored the creek, the pond, and the indian grinding rocks. My little girls even collected fresh eggs from the chicken coop with the owner! Thank you for the hospitality. And sorry for belated review. We'll be back soon!

My wife and I spent one night in the 'Casita', which was just perfect for what we were looking for: a peaceful, serene spot to get away and relax. We brought our dog with us, and he loved romping around in the yard with the owner's three dogs! The property itself is even more lovely than it looks in the photos, and the house and casita are beautiful. The area around the property is also beautiful, with a lovely winery and tasting room within a short walk, and a number of quiet roads to walk on without having to worry about traffic. The owners are very friendly and accomodating - we felt like we were staying at a friend's house, rather than renting a room for the night. Thank you!!!

This gorgeous estate home is one of the top places my husband and I and our friends have ever stayed. It could very well grace the cover of Sunset Magazine. The home has every amenity. We took advantage of the big barbecue and covered deck out back for dinner. Everything is very clean and spotless. We also liked how close the home is to Murphys and all the wineries we wanted to visit. There is also a Casita where a third couple could stay, or 1 couple for a weekend away. Perfect weekend!

Wow...what a get-away we had!!! My fiancee, our Golden Retriever and I arrived on 12/23 and sadly left the Estate Home on 12/31 (we loved it so much, it was hard to leave!) . We all agreed it was the best vacation we've ever had and by far exceeded our expectations. Chris and Barbara, as well as all the furry critters, greeted us warmly and the hospitality we received was excellent. This was my first experience renting someones actual home and was afraid I might be a little uncomfortable doing so: Happily I was wrong and we all felt so at home here ~ it was truly the rest and relaxation we so needed. We will come back again (we come to Murphy's twice a year), next time staying in the Casita. I would highly recommend staying at the Estate Home and/or the Casita...both are tastefully decorated and so very comfy. We loved the close proximity of Murphy's when we wanted to get to town, but appreciated the ability to have the privacy that we wouldn't have found had we stayed elsewhere. We knew we wanted to get married somewhere in Murphy's but had yet to choose the venue ~ this place is PERFECT for it and will most definitely plan to do it here. Thank you Chris and Barbara for such a memorable vacation. We will see you soon! Give Max some pets for us. :) Ann, Lee and Roxy

We stayed in the casita the weekend of the Ironstone Classic Car Concours Sept 23-25. The casita is large, high ceilinged, clean, comfortable and relaxing. The owners are very gracious and we felt like we were visiting old friends rather then renting accommodations. There is little to add to the previous 4 excellent reviews. They are spot on. You will enjoy your stay here.

Great Weekend Getaway!

We stayed at the Casita Sept 9 & 10 and loved it! So much better than staying in a hotel! We enjoyed the beautiful grounds (the garden, the vineyard, the chickens, etc.) and the peace and quiet! We were so comfortable there that Saturday morning we just slept in, hung around and read our books and had a light brunch including bagels, cream cheese & smoked salmon & fresh fruit. We didn't leave the casita until almost noon. The owners were nearby but totally respected our privacy. They have three very friendly dogs and we also met a very nice gray cat. We are animal lovers so the animals were just a big plus! The bed was very comfortable and the huge walk-in shower was awesome! We definitely hope to stay there again since we do get to Murphys pretty regularly!

My girlfriend and I spent Labor Day weekend at the Casita and absolutely loved it. We spent the majority of our time exploring the area, going to Pinecrest Lake, going winetasting, going hiking, those kind of things, and it was nice to return to the casita each night to relax. It has everything we needed. The owners recommended Alchemy for dinner the first night and we were really impressed with it. The owners were helpful throughout the visit but they still gave us all the privacy we wanted. We were initially concerned that we'd have a "walking on eggshells" feeling staying in their casita but it wasn't that way at all. The casita was very clean and well maintained. No problems at all with it. The property is in a beautiful area with so much to do. I would definitely recommend it to a friend or family member.

This place is paradise! My husband and I recently stayed in the Casita for 2 nights. It's well appointed with everything you need for a short stay. The hot tub, patio set and BBQ were all accessible through the sliding glass door of the casita. This property is beautifully landscaped and very peaceful. The 3 dogs are fantastic greeters : ) The owners treated us to fresh basil from their garden, fresh laid eggs from the chickens and the newspaper was at our door. We felt so at home here we booked another weekend stay in December. Downtown Murphys is just 5 minutes away where you'll find fantastic restaurants and an abundance of shopping and wine tasting.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights this summer. The entire property is just beautiful and the owners did a wonderful job ensuring you'll have everything you need to make you feel like you're at home in the cassita. They were extremely helpful in giving us tips of activities to make the most of our weekend, and even delivered the newspaper and made coffee for us in the morning! The location is perfect; just a few minute drive to downtown Murphy's, you are in a more quiet, serene environment while you're resting, but can quickly get to all the shops, WONDERFULLY FRESH delicious food, and of course, the 25 wine tasting rooms! The only word of caution (if you want to call it that) is that they have 3 very lively, sweet dogs. If you're not a dog person, that may not be ideal; my husband and I love dogs so we enjoyed having them there.
