Spacious 2600 square foot split-level home is a great vacation get-away with friends and family. Beautiful view from kitchen, dining, living area (with TV) and decks. Upstairs has a master bedroom(king)with private bath and dressing room. Also upstairs is a bedroom (queen), bathroom and utility room. The upper deck provides great relaxation and dining overlooking the lake.
Downstairs is a large recreation room with a pool table, TV, bunk beds and a futon, plus two bedrooms (Queens) and a full bath. The new lower deck increases the enjoyment of outdoor living space.
Our house is located in a quiet cove about 1/4 mile inside the Peninsula CC Gate. Our unique location offers great swimming and a sandy beach with private boat dock and buoy. Lake Almanor is great for water skiiing and wake boarding. Jet skiis are permitted and rented nearby. Afternoon breezes make for good sailing as well. Fresh water fishing includes kokone salmon, rainbow trout, browns and bass. Bass fishermen frequent our cove. Fly fisherman hit the water in float tubes early in the season. Other stream fishing is nearby. All water sports rentals are available in Big Cove. We are close to Bailey Creek Golf course and the Country Club course. Great tennis courts are available in the Country Club. Mt. Lassen is not far for a hiking adventure. More activities than you can do in a week and have some down-time to relax. Only 100 miles from Reno for convenient fly-ins. Nearby towns include Chester and Westwood with Susanville a 1/2 hour away.

We had 7 adults and 3 small kids and had plenty of room to spread out. We brought our own baby gate and was able to block off the stairs easily. They also had gates to block off the stairs that lead down to the lower deck that were easy to lock. The driveway is long and a little tricky with a boat, but I was able to back my 21.5 ft ski boat down the driveway to the house to load it before we left. Overall a very nice house and would definitely rent again if it works out for us next time.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

About the owner: Jeff Holland and Sally Moyer have had this property in the family since it was built in 1980. We have many fond memories of times spent together at the lake and we are glad our many returning renters are doing the same. Our time together now is not often and usually includes work but we are grateful for that and enjoy sharing our special place.

My favorite time spent at the lake is swimming to the far buoy in our protected cove. The sandy beach, beautiful view and relaxing on the decks make it hard to leave. Sally
