What a wonderful cabin and what a great weekend! The cabin was just as described in the listing, down to the beautiful fall leaves in the outdoor picture, and was clean and well stocked with everything but our food and drink. From sitting on the deck, to walking in the neighborhood, to driving along pretty Highway 221 and walking across the Mile-High Bridge at Grandfather Mountain a few miles down the road - everything was perfect. This is definitely a come-back-again cabin!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great time in the cabin; hearing the noise of the creeks in the morning was very peaceful. Thank you for letting us stay here and for the tips about the hiking.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We enjoyed ourselves so much! Our 30th anniversary celebration could not have been nicer. Thank you so much for arranging/buying Susannah's goodies for us. Great choice in wine! I love your house--so very comfortable and inviting. I hope we can do this again! Such a beautiful, unique property.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our children loved all the toys you loaned us, we had a wonderful long weekend. We hiked all the way to the top of Linville Falls, went to Linville Cavern, Tweetsey (where we saw Barney!!), the Blowing Rock Park, Art in the Park and Grandfather Mountain. Whew it got chilly. We love you and we love Blowing Rock! See you in October!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: We live in Blowing Rock full time and LOVE to hike, fish, canoe, and camp. After 15 years, we're still discovering new trails, caves, amazing artists, and fun historical facts. Robert is a local area realtor and has loads of information on the current market.
Why the Owner Chose Blowing Rock:
Hiking! Great cultural events from ASU including lectures, chamber music, and wonderful performing arts. Pisgah National Forest surrounds us, and the Appalachians offer ever-changing views in every season. The New River is great for tubing, fishing, or kayak adventures and the air is clean and cool.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
The cabin is just around the corner from Julian Price Park which offers weekend Ranger programs, $12 an hour canoe rentals on the lake, the best loop trail in the Blue Ridge, giant boulders in the river for picnicking, wild swimming holes with mini waterfalls, and convenient tables and grills next to a bold creek for wading and catching crawdads. Grandfather Mountain is just south via scenic bi-way, and Tweetsie RR is only 15 miles away. Moses Cone Craft center with groomed walking and equestrian trails is 15 minutes away, and world class Westglow Spa is just 5 miles away!
