We had a great time at Bear Crossing. The cabin/home is VERY clean and organized. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need or want. The location is beautiful and we enjoyed time on the front porch rocking in the rocking chairs. It was very nice to get away from it all for a weekend! Thank you!

My wife and I rented Bear Crossing for the week and brought our 2 dogs with us. We had an outstanding time and the dogs keep asking when we are going back. I tell them very soon as this was one of the greatest vacations we have had in a long time. The cabin was great!! Everything was provided for us in the kitchen except food but we ate great German food most of the time at the great Inns and Pubs in Helen. Unicoi State Park's trails were great and we also visited Anna Ruby Falls in the Chattahoochee National Forrest. I would highly recommend a vacation at Bear Crossing!!!!

We rented this cabin for a weekend girls' trip to Helen, GA. The cabin is in a beautiful location and is close dining, shopping, and hiking. It is well stocked with anything you could possibly need during your stay. Owners are easily accessible and responsive to any questions prior to trip. Everything is so well documented in the cabin, we didn't have any questions while staying there. The owners made this very enjoyable and relaxing for all of us. We loved the beautiful jacuzzi area and also all of the board games! We'll be back :-). Thank you!

This was everything you could ask for in a vacation cabin. It was very well maintained, clean and the location was perfect. We were able to hike to several waterfalls in the area and just come back to Bear Crossing and just relax. We have owned a rental property in the past and so we know what should be provided for a pleasant stay and this cabin had it all. We look forward to returning.

I just finished returning from my trip to the mountains with my husband and two other couples. We stayed at this cabin - initially for how close it was to Helen without actually being in Helen, however, after we arrived we found the solitude fantastic. Just a very lovely cabin in the woods, quiet and peaceful. The cabin itself is appointed nicely and is very comfortable. My husband absolutely loved the hot tub. The rooms were warm and inviting and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. We have been to Helen many times for vacation, but I have to say that we were extremely pleased with this particular cabin and it's amenities. We will definitely be returning! Thank you Jerry and Susan for sharing your home with us!

We spent Christmas at Bear Crossing and had such a wonderful and memorable stay. The home is lovely and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay easy and fun. The hot tub is delightful, the beds are comfortable and the design/layout of the home was perfect for us...a family with parents, 2 children, a dog and a grandmother! We had a ball and Susan was so helpful as we planned our stay (where to eat, what stables to use, etc). We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who would be considering a stay close to Helen. We also enjoyed being so close to Unicoi State Park!

We had such a lovely stay at the cabin in early October. The owners have thought of everything in furnishing, decorating and stocking this cabin for vacationers -- even board games for the kids! Everything was immaculately clean and very well organized (and labeled!). When we couldn't get one of the televisions to work, the owners went above and beyond to get the issue resolved. I cannot say enough good things about the owners. The cabin is also very conveniently located to Unicoi State Park and downtown Helen. I would highly recommend this cabin to others, and we look forward to being return customers in the future!

We have stayed in several homes now via VRBO and this is possibly the best. The owners have an absolutely immaculate home in the North Georgia mountains and have thought of everything to make their guests feel comfortable and at home. The kitchen is well-stocked, the hot tub was a big hit and everyone enjoyed swinging on the front porch. The cabin is just a few miles outside of Helen and right next door to the Onicoi State Park. The park has scenic Anna Ruby Falls, miles of great trails, and a decent brunch buffet. Helen was kitschy fun, but actually had some great German food (Hofer's is awesome!) and a couple of the best masseuses we've been to in awhile down at the Healthy Foot Spa. I don't tend towards gushing in my reviews, but this place is most deserving!

Conveniently located within minutes of Helen and all of its activities, this cabin is an immaculate, well appointed home that offered privacy, comfort, relaxation, and a comfortable amount of room for our party of six. Quite candidly, the home is better appreciated in person than the pictures convey. Regardless of the time that one wants to spend in Helen proper, this home served easily as a base of operations for other journeys to local sites such as waterfalls and neighboring towns including those in NC. Around Helen, I would suggest Betty's: what a great grocery store! I would recommend this cabin highly without hesitation: the owners of this home make it extremely easy to rent and enjoy!

This cabin was absolutely the perfect place to get away for peace and relaxation. It is emaculate, very comfortable and equipped for anything a person may need. The description is correct when it says all you need are your clothes. The back patio was perfect for grilling out and then to just relax in the hot tub or in the hammock reading a book. We had not been to Helen before and didn't know what to expect. It was beyond anything we could have dreamed. From the moment we walked in the door until we left (by the way we added another day because we didn't want to leave) everything was awesome. The town of Helen was great and had everything you could ask for (Kristi shopped until she dropped). Working with Susan from the 1st email to book the cabin, to the follow up call after we checked out was amazing. She is very friendly and will do her best to accomodate your every need. We would highly recommend this cabin to everyone who needs a little rest and relaxtion. We would also recommend Sunburst Stables for a great afternoon outing. The horses and land are beautiful and the zip-lining was a blast. (Be sure to check out HOLY COW! on the zipline). Thank you Susan for allowing us to use your beautiful cabin. We will definitely be back soon.

My husband, myself and two of his sisters just spent 6 days and nights in this lovely cabin to attend our son's wedding at Unicoi. We could reach the Park in minutes, as well as downtown Helen. We also visited Sautee's Country Store, covered wooden bridge and Gift Shops. What a treat. A drive to Toccoa Falls and Tallulah Gorge was an easy trip, leaving late and arriving back to the cabin in plenty of time to rest in one day. Bear Crossing is well maintained, furnished with everything you need and forget to take. It is beautifully decorated and comfortable. I loved the split floor plan and the kitchen is any woman's dream. It is equipped with all you need and more. Be sure and have at least one cup of coffee with the cute mug face which I hogged every day. I enjoyed the front porch but I stayed on the back deck as I much as I could, it was so relaxing, private and big. We all left with regrets and I still miss not being there. Everything you read in the listing of Bear Crossing is 100% correct and the cleanest cabin you will ever stay in. Susan is one of the nicest people I have ever done business with, she is the perfect hostess and goes out of her way to be helpful, so do yourself a favor and plan a trip to Helen and stay at Bear Crossing, you won't regret it. I would definitely stay there again.

Jerry & Susan: What a fabulous time we had at the Cabin the week of Thanksgiving! It is truly a vacation we will never forget. It was so hard to leave and everyday we wish that we were back "home". The cabin was just as described in your ad and then some....it was wonderful to have the Christmas tree and all of the Christmas touches in the cabin, it truly put us in the holiday spirit. The kitchen is so well equipped we had everything we could have possibly needed for our Thanksgiving day meal. We are looking forward to visiting again this summer and you were a gem to work with. Thanks so much for your kindness to us.

The cabin is everything it says it is. Clean, spacious, and in a wonderful secluded section on the outskirts of Helen. All you need to do is go grocery shopping and you are set. It was cold when we were there, so the fireplace and hot tub came in very handy. The scenery was wonderful due to the changing leaves at this time of year. We are planning to return in the summer, and most likely the fall next year. The scenery, along with the cabin, will make you want to stay there. It was awful returning to the city after being there a couple of days. If you want a great mountain vacation or weekend getaway, this is it! Susan and Jerry are great owners and made everything easy.

What a wonderful retreat! Everything was just perfect. The cabin was so cozy and beautifully decorated. The front porch swing and rocking chairs were so relaxing. Our boys loved the side hammock! It was HUGE! I got in it with both of my boys and we still had plenty of room! The back deck and hot tub are so inviting and much appreciated after a day of shopping. The cabin is very well stocked with anything you could possibly need. So many little extras that you don't normally get. Such a nice homey touch. By far our most favorite vacation in the mountains. Our 2 dogs loved it too!! Thank you for sharing your paradise with us! Truly! The Santelli Family, Dino, Penny, Clay & Grant

What a great location for visiting northeast Georgia. You can get to Helen, Clarkesville, Cleveland Dahlonega, Unicoi State Park and Anna Ruby Falls in a very short time. We had an absolutely wonderful weekend here with a few friends and found the cabin to be well maintained, decorated, warm, and peaceful. The inside was accommodating of us all as well as the outside which provided a wonderful layout for eating, talking, and staying up late with the hot tub after a long day. We explored Unicoi park and Ana Ruby Falls as well as Helen for Oktoberfest festivities! What a wonderful relaxing weekend and we can't wait to come back with our children! My family had a fabulous time at this beautiful and spotlessly clean cabin. The layout is great. We used both the charcoal and gas grills for a rib cookoff between my son and my husband. What a laugh! The owners are very gracious and attentive to any problems. If you have well behaved animals, this is the place for you. We brought 1 golden retriever and two cats as Susan was kind enough to allow them to come. Being so close to Unicoi and Helen is another big plus. Don't miss the opportunity to vacation in this wonderful home.

This review could not be easier. Just read the ones below and that about covers it. In the interest of being the one reviewer that spent time searching for something to complain about here goes… From time to time my toes became slightly chilled as I stood by the kitchen sink washing out the morning coffee pot. It was all down to the placement of the air conditioning vent at floor level that delivered a steady drift of cool air across my bare feet. As it was a ‘summer’ vacation I did not bring my house slippers and was not warned by the owner that suitable foot protection would be needed. There I said it!

This was a wonderful vacation. The cabin is very comfortable and nicely laid out, and most important it was extremely clean. The kitchen is as well equipped as my own, with all the appliances you could possible need. The beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are just right. The back porch is awesome, perfect for relaxing. There are woods surrounding the property, so there is total privacy. And the hot tub...well it's just what the doctor ordered if you need to escape reality for a while. Jerry & Susan have thought of everything, right down to movies & games being available. The place is maintained extremely well. Helen is a quaint little town with good restaurants and lots of shops. There's plenty to do in the area, all within relatively short drives. This was by far the most relaxing and least stressed trip we've taken. Jerry & Susan couldn't be more wonderful to work with. They really know how to be hospitable and friendly.

Spent five nights at the cabin in June, and it was an awesome place. Chose it in part based on the reviews that I read here, and they were accurate and not exaggerated. The cabin is top-notch - very comfortable, great kitchen, and the hot tub really is a wonderful way to end each day. Loved having coffee in the mornings in rocking chairs on the front deck, and had everything we needed to grill out on the back deck. The place is also very family-friendly - our kids loved their rooms. Location-wise, it is a great spot with a very easy drive to either the state park or downtown Helen. And, the owners have the rental thing down to a science - communication was great, everything was spelled out clearly, and they were very friendly and helpful. Kind of sounding like an infomercial at this point, but seriously the bottom line is that we had a great week and were really thrilled with the experience, the area, and the cabin. I would very happily recommend Bear Crossing to anyone.

We had a great time on our family vacation at Bear Crossing. The nights were quiet and we loved reading on the front porch and the hammock. On the way home we stopped for gas when my husband realized that his wedding ring was missing. When Susan called to ask about our stay I mentioned that we could not find his ring and she said she would keep an eye out for it. My husband was very upset. A few days later Susan called me to say that the ring was found by the caretaker while he was cleaning and she was mailing it back to us. The ring is now back where it belongs. Thank you so much for going the extra mile. We will be back.

To say that the cabin suited our needs for our yearly Helen getaway would be an extreme understatement! It exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to come back next year. Finding a cabin in Helen for our family was quite a daunting task until we ran across Bear Crossing. With two small children, it was important to us to find a place with as few steps as possible. The single level, split floor plan was perfect for our family. The cabin was very warm and inviting and has everything you could want or need on a vacation. The location is private, yet very close to the beautiful town of Helen. Probably even nicer than the cabin is Susan, the owner. She is very kind and thoughtful, sending us information prior to our arrival as to local events that our children might enjoy. She really goes out of her way to make sure your stay is as comfortable and memorable as possible. We're so happy we found Bear Crossing!

All we can say is WOW!!! There were 7 of us on 5 Harley's. This cabin was every bit and way more than we had ever expected. It has everything in and out that you'll ever need, not to mention the pristine condition. We rented two cabins this year for our vacation, this one and another in NC. What a differance in the two, I won't get into the other one but rest assured your safe with Bear Crossing, not all cabins are created equal. I can't say enough about how nice Bear Crossing is and what a pleasure it was just talking with Susan. We will come back as often as we can. Thank you Jerry and Susan from the 7 of us that stayed there. If anyone would like to ask us about it, please feel free to give us a call or e-mail us. Bear n Chach

We arrived at 9A0(Lumpkin County Airport) by our private airplane which is about 20 minutes away. Enterprise picked us up in a rental car in DAHLONEGA, GA (only open weekdays and based in the local Walmart). This cabin is located about 10min from the main events of Helen. Very clean and well equipped (except only 1.5 rolls of tiolet paper - recommend bringing some). We left a lighter and starter fluid for the grille. Split floorplan with large kitchen, breakfast bar, large dining table inside and on deck. The only thing missing for our bunch was a fire pit for telling stories to the kids at night. Well worth the money - many thanks!

A good friend and I recently had the great pleasure of staying for a long weekend at Bear Crossing. What a treat! First, it was nice of the weather to be so obliging! We arrived late on a Friday night and forgot to bring coffee...but wouldn't you know it, there was a nice little supply already there! And it was good! We spent quite a bit of time relaxing on the front porch, swinging on the swing and rocking in the chairs. We grilled up some fabulous steaks on the grill (thanks Betty's Country Store!) that were the best ever. Hot tub was wonderful! Can't think of anything that we didn't enjoy about our stay there. And if the cabin and environment aren't relaxing enough, I recommend the Spa at Mandala. Best, most relaxing vacation in years! Can't wait to go back.

We stayed at Bear Crossing in May 08 with friends visiting from California and had such a wonderful time we decided to take our grown children and their family there for a much needed long weekend in September 08. The house seems to be perfect for whatever your reason is for getting away. The exceptionally clean hot tub is nestled in the pines and the back patio with huge table and grills are the perfect setting for a group of any size. The kitchen has absolutely everything you possibly need. In fact, the entire house is well supplied.

If you are going to be in Helen, GA stay at Bear Crossing!! Thanks again!! Joey, Angie and Snortzine

We had a very restful few days in a lovely cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed when we cooked. The cabin and its surroundings are cozy yet elegant. This is a great place to visit for some rest and relaxation.

The cabin was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything we could possibly need. It was comfortable and enjoyable. Others in our reunion party that had accomadations at the park lodge were envious of our cabin.

This cabin was awesome! Very spacious and loaded with stuff - from tv's in every bedroom, extra towels for the hot tub, 2 porches to sit and relax on, choice of gas or charcoal grills, plenty of room and even games to play! The kids had a blast - in the cabin as well as hiking around the area. Very convenient to Helen for the candy shop and other food necessities, and with the fully loaded kitchen, we spent the majority of the meals cooking at the cabin. All of us definitely want to come back! Thanks so much!

We have stayed in the mountains for over 20 years and this cabin definitely as good as it gets. Close to town, private, clean, loaded kitchen, great beds and baths. Perfect! As Arnie says "I'll be back. :~) Skip & Jean Young, Lawrenceville, Ga.

My family just recently stayed at Bear Crossing for over a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We really did just need to bring our clothes and toothbrushes! It even snowed the first morning making it even more picturesque. This cabin was also spotless! Thanks to the Bundy's for a great vacation,

There are several great things about this cabin: 1) Its location. It's remote, yet very easy to get to and accessible to Alpine Helen - you're there in minutes. 2) It's 'loaded.' Everything you could possibly need for cooking (except the food)is in the kitchen. There's cookie sheets, a muffin tin, measuring cups & spoons, large pots, small pots, a garlic press - you name it! While dad is grilling, mom & the kids can get in the hottub, swing on the hammock, or relax on the beautiful deck, and you still feel like you're all together. 3) It's clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. Susan is nothing if she's not organized! Her attention to detail makes guests feel very 'at home' and comfortable. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
