Built in 1940, this historic resort holds many memories. Make some of your own. With four rustic cabins and a lodge over looking the lake, it enables many people to gather with the amenities of home minus the stress.
Each cabin gives you a sweet escape. Nestled in towering pines are two log cabins and two conventional cabins. They are equipt with a full bathroom, comfortable queen bed, refrigerator, and kitchen sink. The largest cabin has a full kitchen and two bedrooms.
The resort, on six acres, is spacious and provides many activities for all ages. Thousands of acres of state and national forests surround this property. Willow Lake is one of the clearest lakes in Minnesota. The sandy, clean beach is easily assessible and gradually gets deeper. You can spend many memorable hours in the water. The 40 foot dock provides for easy fishing, a place to park your boat, and a bench to admire God's beauty.
The yard provides adequate room for bocce ball, ultimate frisbee, tether ball, and croquet. Tall old fashion resort swings face the lake. Horseshoes is set up close to the cozy firepit that provides a great way to wind down for the evening.
The highlight of the property is the lodge. All your friends and family can gather in front of the beautiful stone fire place. Activities in the lodge consist of boardgames, cards, story time, big screen tv with dvd/vcr player, foosball, and a pool table. The screened in porch and deck face the lake and provide a gorgeous view. The kitchen is fully equipt for all of your dining needs. There is a kitchen table and large island.

This is the perfect spot for a family vacation. The cabins are rustic, but have large super comfortable beds. It was cold the first night so we enjoyed the big fireplace, but the rest of the week was spent in or on the water. The fishing was excellent. The screened in porch on the lodge over looks the lake and was the most popular place to hang out. We didn't really check out any of the local attractions. We enjoyed the facility so much that we only left to get groceries and do laundry. Our family get together consisted of 7 families, and we all agreed that it was the best vacation ever. We plan to come back next year.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a lot of fun! The nine inches of rain didn't even dampen our moods. The lodge provided us with a nice warm place to hang out on the rainy day. We enjoyed the fishing...an nine year old boy was excited to report that he caught 25 fish in an hour in a half :)Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers.

Owner info
About the owner: I am a proud mother of 5 children and grandmother of 23 grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with family and friends. My faith is very important to me and enjoy being involved with my church. In my free time I garden, cook, sew, and watch my grandchildren's sporting events. My syblings live around the US and I travel often to stay with them.
Why the Owner Chose Deer River:
I chose to buy this resort for a place for my family to come and enjoy the great northern area of Minnesota. Each family has their own cabin to get away but at the same time, there is room in the lodge for us all to gather. The resort is spacious, with room for activities of all sorts. I love creating memories with my family.
