My two daughters and I have just spent 6 days in Cusco. The appsrtment was excellent - with every amenity. It was very helpful to have the laundry facilities as we had been travelling for a few days before arriving in Cusco. It was close to the main Avenida El Sol and the Plaza de Armas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone. It was great to have breakfast included and we enjoyed the delicious banana pancakes.

This property is exactly as described - very clean and convenient and breakfast was provided every morning on the rooftop. The booking process was very easy, the owner replied email quickly and even phoned before our departure to double check all the details. We booked three tours - the city tour, moray/salineras, and the sacred valley. For all tours, we were picked up at the apartment and transported to the bus. All tours had an English speaking, knowledgeable guide and were very well arranged. Our favourites were the moray/salineras and sacred valley tours! With the apartment only 15-20 mins walk to the main plaza, it was very convenient to get around without taking taxis. The weather was mostly sunny and warm so we enjoyed walking to the craft market (5-10mins) and to the plaza de armas for some food or shopping. The apartment had everything we needed including a cell phone! We were able to leave our luggage at the apartment when we went to visit Machu Picchu for two days. The housekeeper was very accommodating even though we didn't speak any Spanish - what a lovely lady! The bedrooms are very bright in the morning - so bring eye covers! Although the water for the shower was a little lukewarm, adjusting the water volume made it hotter. There's no elevator, but after a day or so, the stairs were easy to get up. there was a strong police presence at every corner so we always felt safe. All in all, the hosts were very gracious and helpful, the apartment was very convenient and comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to cusco and Machu Picchu! Thank you so much for sharing your apartment with us and making our stay wonderful!

The owner made everything very clear and simple and had transportation waiting for us at the airport upon our arrival, as well as on our return. The housekeeper was extremely friendly and had tea waiting for us on our first night. She also made us an amazing breakfast every morning on the rooftop terrace. The beds were extremely cozy and comfortable! We had a group of four and the apartment had plenty of space. It is also very close to the main square where we ended up at some point everyday. We made friends with another guest that was staying in the apartment below us and it was cool seeing her every morning at breakfast and sharing stories of our adventures the day before. The owner also arranged our Machu Picchu tickets and private tour and our transportation to and from, I highly recommend doing this as everything went flawless!

owner was very friendly and approachable. he even called me to discuss details! he arranged all our tours and it was an excellent experience. owner even emailed a list of helpful items to bring to peru. i highly recommend the property and the tour. location of apartment was very good. i felt safe in the area. breakfast was included and it was delicious. apartment is very clean and new. he arranged private tour guides and transportation of several surrounding ruins and macchu picchu. price of this private tour was much more reasonable compared to local tour companies. overall, i would definitely stay at this property again. We stayed at this property for four days during Thanksgiving break. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They tried their best to accommodate our tour schedule, especially since my wife had the altitude sickness on our day of arrival. The place is very clean and in a safe neighborhood, and the walk to the city center is about 10-15 minutes. The private tour they helped organized is very good and reasonable price-wise. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends.

I would not hesitate to recommend this place! We stayed at this apartment at the start of our trip to Peru and could not be happier. From the minute we arrived at the airport to being dropped off at the bus station at the end of our stay, everything was wonderful! The apt itself has everything you need, it has plenty of room and is kept very clean. Breakfast is included and Betty's special pancakes are delicious! They even offer tours and I would recommend upgrading to the private tours, for a few dollars more, it is well worth it. Our driver (Angel) and tour guide (Efraim) were excellent (very knowledgeable about the local area) and we saw alot more Inca ruins than we would have on a regular tour. We went on the 4 day Inca trail and were able to leave our big backpacks behind, well secured, which was a big help. They also have a washer and dryer which came in handy. Thank You, Jay, Miguel, Jerson and Betty for all your help, we had a fantastic time in your country and hope to come back again someday! Karen, Raul and Genevieve

This was a really great place for my family and I to stay during our Cusco stay. It is about 20 minutes walk to plaza - since we are a family of 4 even walking around 10pm back to the apt was fine (on a rare occasion when we took a taxi it was only about 3 soles). It was nice not staying near the plaza where all the other tourists were. This apt is far enough in the residential district where I felt more connected to Cusco. Jay called me before we left from the states and he was very informative. Miguel picked us up from the airport and he arranged our other rides (great guy who speaks great English!), and Betty (Jay's mom) was at the apt who prepared our daily breakfasts (along with Jacky). Betty was so hospitable it was like coming to visit an aunt! We fell in love with the "Quaker" oatmeal drink, pan-fried potatoes, traditional Cusco breads and coffee!! We would love to visit Cusco again and stay at this apt - there are just too many things to explore in Cusco!! Thank you Jay for providing us with a wonderful "home" while in Cusco!!

My teenage daughter and I stayed here for a week, and were 100% happy with everything. We were met at the airport, and provided transportation to the hotel. Bottled water was waiting in the apartment, and we were served coca tea (for help with altitude) after we arrived. Our host had great suggestions for restaurants and local tours, and even loaned us a mobile phone for our stay. The apartment was clean, spacious, and well appointed, and it had everything we needed. We even shopped at a local market one day and cooked our own dinner easily in the kitchen. Breakfast was included, and was wonderful --- our hosts went out of their way providing a variety of authentic Peruvian foods. Coffee was superb, and the food was fresh, filling, and delicious. We loved the pancakes! The apartment was in a quiet neighborhood. We were able to buy water, juice, snacks, etc. at small, local stores within a minute's walk from the front door. The walk to the town center was 20-30 minutes, or an inexpensive taxi ride. We felt safe the entire time, but were careful to take taxis if we were out past 10pm. The washer/dryer on the top floor was very handy. I highly recommend this property as a base camp for anyone traveling in the Cusco area. I hope to return to Peru, and would definitely stay here again.

We spent 9 awesome days in Cusco (2 in Machu Picchu). There were 8 in our party. We stayed in two of the apartments which were comfortable and roomy. We loved the hard wood accents and color schemes. The kitchen was well stocked. The bathrooms were modern and there was plenty of hot water. Great bedding - it gets quite cold at night. The laundry is on the top floor where our breakfast was served. It was cool to go and look out over the city. My kids spent several evenings on this floor just watching the people. The neighborhood never seems to sleep. Our breakfasts every morning were great. Each day it was a little different. It was always ready at the set time. We had fruit pancakes, a peruvian oatmeal, hot chocolate, eggs, fresh bread, various freshly squeezed juices, fried corn and coffee. The apartment was in a safe neighborhood and easy to get to from the Square as well as several of the markets. It is hard to separate the wonderful accomodations from the excellent and professional customer service we received by the team in Cusco. They were quite flexible, we were dropped off several times at the end of the day in the square and then walked back after dinner. The hospitality shown to us from our cooks, driver, guides and coordinator surpassed all expectation we had. We ate in several local restaurants (mostly close to or on the square) - the food was amazing. We even tried the Cuy- guinea pig.. Our coordinators would set up the reservations as well as any taxi rides we might need. We did the City Tour as well as got out of the city and saw Moray, The South Valley and The Sacred Valley, Everything was breath taking. Each day just seemed to get better. We just happened to be in Cusco during the Summer Solsitce. We attended the Inti Raymi Celebration which was beyond words. It was humbling to see how the Peruvians celebrate their heritage which is so rich in tradition and everyone seems to participate in some way. My family loved spending the day with our various guides and Hugo. We always felt safe. Due to the size of our family, we did all private tours. I would recommend this adventure to everyone from 17 to 99 (as long as you can handle the altitude). Jay does a wonderful job customizing the trip to your needs. We can't wait to go back.

Four of us stayed here recently and really enjoyed having such a great home base. The only thing holding us back from 5 stars was it was a little out of the way but still really easy to get to by taxi or walking from the Plaza de Armas which was no big deal to us as we appreciate the neighborhoods more then the city center. Also, there was a hot water issue in the town and no one had hot water we were told. Jay was great to deal with and really helpful so was Miguel who was the representative who helped us while we were there. Jackie and the breakfast was great! We had Jay help us arrange tours and they were great. Overall it was a great experience.

We are a family, of four and this was our first trip to South America. We stayed here for a week in May 2012, and it was a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this place as a home away from home, while exploring the Cusco/Machu Picchu area. We would definately stay here again. There is plenty to see & do in the Cusco area for a week, and this apartment made a good base for those activities. We did three Day tours (Cusco City tour, South Valley tour, Moray tour) and an overnight Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu tour, using this apartment as our home base. It was handy to leave our luggage here & just take an overnight/small daypack to Machu Picchu. This apartment, alone, met our needs perfectly. The warm, friendly service we received from each of the people involved, was a bonus. They made us feel especially at home and welcome. The owner is very easy to communicate with by phone & email. He provides a list of helpful information & can arrange tours for you if you wish. We already had our tours booked elsewhere, otherwise, we would have booked through the owner. This place is almost like staying in a bed and breakfast. You get the privacy of your own apartment, and in addition, have warm, friendly people to help you. We were met at the airport, driven to the apartment, and given a briefing on everything, including locations of grocery stores, good restaurants etc. Also, the authentic Peruvian breakfast each morning in the breakfast room, was a nice touch (loved the banana pancakes). We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments in this five floor building (no elevator as far as I know). It met all of our expectations. It is perfectly clean (even the stairwells and terrace were imacculate), the photos are accurate, the kitchen is well equipped, bottled water is provided, the tv & wifi worked fine, cell phone is provided, the laundry room was really appreciated (5 week trip), grocery shopping is a short walk away, and we felt completely safe & secure staying here. The main square is about a 15-20 minute walk (not sure, as we kept stopping at markets etc.) or inexpensive taxi ride. This apartment was so much more than a vacation rental. We were treated like family, and this left us with warm spot in our hearts for Peru.

Ok, so amazing does not even do justice to describe the time we spent in Cusco and Machu Picchu! When we landed we were welcomed by our concierge (Thank you Miguel) who treated us like family the entire length of our stay. The apartment was well appointed, sparkling clean, fresh, and had all the amenities of home, 100% better than staying at a hotel. The nights get a little cool in Cusco and the heavy blankets were a much appreciated welcome. The apartment is located just a few blocks from the local market and about a 15 minute walk to the town center, the walk to both are very enjoyable, safe, scenic and an absolute must. Mingling with Betty and Jackie during breakfast (loved the banana pancakes) made us feel at home and more like family than tourists, we cannot say enough words of thank you to both of them for their tremendous hospitality and kindness. Our tour guides Salvador and Jerson were absolutely knowledgeable about the history of Cusco and surrounding archeological sites. We were overly impressed by their passion of Peruvian heritage and culture, and so grateful that they both took the time to answer all our questions during the tours. We opted to take the City Tour which gets you in to most of the Archeological sights around Cusco- we also went to see the salt mines of Mords which was pretty cool, ha, it’s not every day that you can taste fresh salt from where it’s actually mined! Another must is the Sacred Valley tour- this is truly God’s country were beauty abounds everywhere! If you plan to go to Manchu Picchu we recommend booking and organizing through Jay and the guides. Our entire trip was seamless and hassle free- thank you so much Jay and Dana for the recommendations, the hospitality, and for the new friends we made!

Our stay in Cusco was everything we had hoped for. The pictures described the appartment really well, Jay answered all the questions I had before and during our visit. The breakfasts options we were provided for were excellent, it really gave me and my family the feeling that we were visiting relatives instead of staying in a hotel. Thank you Betty and Jacky for the meals and the attention they gave us. Betty also took our friends to the hospital when one of them was not feeling well, and also provided him with lunch when he stayed in the apartment. All the tour guides were very helpful and accomodated with our needs. Thank you Miguel, Jerson & Salvador. I highly recommed the Valle Sagrado/Machu Pichu tour which allows you to stay in Aguas Calientes overnight in order to be at the top of Machu Pichu early in the morning. We also took the City Tour and the Moray Tour, highly recommend both. I compared prices before we took this option and I have no regrets, since we had a group of 7 the attention was very personal. Thanks Jay and all the people involved in making our trip to Cusco a success, Gracias!

Visited cusco in early February on our way to Machu Picchu. We stayed at this apartment for five nights, and overall where very satisfied with the experience. The unit is newly renovated, very clean, and comfortable. The reason we chose to stay in an apartment vs a hotel is because there was three of us, and having two bedrooms with four beds worked out great. I also enjoy the amenities of apartments vs the hotel experience, ie full kitchen and much more space. The owner and his assistants are very hospitable and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable. From picking you up at the airport to booking our machu picchu trip, we felt very well taken care off. Miguel (our concierge) even showed us around town and took us to some great restaurants that we never would have found on our own. Booking of the Machu Picchu trip was optional, and originally we where going to take care of all the details on our own, but once we got there we realized how difficult this was going to be, we quickly took advantage of their help. The breakfast every morning was another great amenity, so nice to not have to wake up and not have to cook or go out. The unit was about a 15 - 20 min walk to the main square, so walking every where was very easy, and enjoyable. We had an amazing time in cusco and machu picchu and owe a great gratitude to Jay, Miguel, and Yaki so helping making our trip so memorable!

Had a great time staying her while I was in Cusco. It was clean, convenient, and the complimentary breakfast was amazing. It was simple traditional Peruvian breakfast of bread and oatmeal that's both delicious and filling. (I really should learn how to make oatmeal like that!) The bed was comfortable (I can't say that about all the beds I slept on in Peru) and the decor was tastefully done with a few Peruvian themed items. The decorations were not overbearing so the apartment felt like someone's home rather than something designed just for tourists. The window blinds were thin so the room gets pretty bright in the morning. Bring sleeping mask if you are used to the dark (or just be up and about bright and early!) Though thin blinds seems to be a common trend in all Peruvian hotels. There a couple of small convenience stores within 2 minute walking distance to buy bottled water or snacks. There is also a Alpaca textile specialty store 5 minutes walking away. The Alpaca store is bit hidden on a side street, so you'd have to ask for its location. We walked to the main square through Avenida El Sol rather than dealing with taxis a few times. It's about 30 minutes of walking at a comfortable pace, 20 minutes if you walk briskly. Hot water works fine and having that extra half bath is great in the morning when everyone is trying to get ready. Wifi works, but is a bit flaky. My laptop had some intermittent issues connecting to it while my ipod connects just fine. Flat screen TV with cable is nice. Overall, I had a great time staying here. Cusco is a neat city with many things to see and do. This apartment also served as our 'home base' for when we went to machu picchu and Aquas Caliente. I highly recommend this place!

This apartment is a terrific option for your stay in Cusco. The apartment is nestled in the Mateo Pumacahua neighborhood. Fruit cart vendors travel through the neighborhood each morning. If you are adventurous enough to try some of the local fruit, I recommend the pacay. The fuzzy white fruit around the large seed pods is edible. There are several very close neighborhood storefronts where you can buy bottled water, juice and other snacks. The local craft market is on the way to the main plaza of Cusco (both are within walking distance). The main bank is also along the way where you can exchange money. We recommend also going to the San Blas Church and wonder around the small plaza there as well. A lot of good deals on crafts can be found. Carvings in the church’s famous pulpit include the pacay fruit. One of the major alpaca stores is located around the corner from the apartment. The apartment includes all the necessary items you would ever need. It is clean, functional and roomy. It was a perfect size for 4 adults. There is one main bathroom and a second half bath. There is plenty of storage for your things in each bedroom. Large windows in the living room provide great views everyday and give you a sense of actual Cusco life. Breakfast is included, and you will get to experience some of the local cooking practices and food choices. The bread and oatmeal were my favorite. The internet worked really well. The owners were very receptive to any questions we had. They are very easy to work with and friendly. They are very knowledgeable about Cusco and other areas in Peru. All the tours they recommended were very good.

The apartment had everything we needed including fridge, wifi, etc. Beds were comfortable and the living room/dining room was very nice and spacious. Even breakfast was great - we ate some local Peruvian bread with some oatmeal and it was delicious. I stayed with 2 other friends for our trip to Macchu Pichu - this is a convenient location, and the owner goes out of his way to ensure you have a great trip. We were met at the airport, taken to the apartment, where we received a comprehensive run-down of the city sights and he helped us plan the gaps in our travel itinerary. Each morning we were greeted with a home-cooked breakfast, that allowed us to sample the fine peruvian cuisine. The apartment has wi-fi, satellite TV and all of the furnishings were updated and clean. Our bags were lost by the airline, and the owner and his staff bent over backwards to help us find them, and even received our bags for us while we were on our hiking trip. Overall, this is a great place, great location, and a great experience.
