We had a wonderful time staying at the Carriage House. Beautifully decorated with modern conveniences, including comfortable bed with plush bedding. The added bonus of fresh farm eggs and coffee, tea, etc. made our stay even more perfect. The owners are very friendly and accomodating. Love the scenery with views of the rolling countryside and mountains. The chickens, dogs, and horse are all very friendly. Not far from many attractions in and around Lexington. Look forward to staying here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Beautiful area of Lexington...Lovely owners... Only down side was a tremendous amount of spider webs on stairs and inside cottage...found large spider in suitcase and then needed to clean floors and door ways inside and out. Need to supply more than one small soap bar..One in shower would be nice. Did not have an internet connection available, but spoke with owners and they were actively working on a solution..They are very open to making any guests stay more wonderful....ask and they will get it done! Most beautiful area to walk, relax and enjoy the area's animals and sunsets! Thank you for providing this cottage for VRBO seekers!Recommended for: Age 55+
Owner response: Thank you for the review and pointing out a few things we need to improve on. We are pleased to say, we have addressed them, including the lack of internet. For a year our listing has said "no internet", due to our rural location, however we have found a solution and are now pleased to offer it as an amenity.

Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. The carriage how is absolutely beautiful! Only wish we had more time to stay and explore the area and relax in your peaceful oasis. It was a pleasure meeting you and your furry friends/family. Catie loves Jasper. Hope we can make it back this way sometime and stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? Where else can one experience mountain views, serenades by roaming cows, fresh eggs from family chickens...AND an elegant carriage house? We enjoyed our week of relaxation very much here. The accommodations were perfect. The scenery was lovely. Our yellow lab learned to graze side by side with Jasper the horse. She also met a few chickens..... Winston and Blue smiled at us daily. Our hosts, Janet and Brian were lovely. Lexington is a sweet town just down the road. We had a really nice time. Thank you!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

In addition to all the positive comments here (beautiful settings, delicious eggs, great people and animals), I'd add that it's a great launching point for daily cycling trips. You can ride directly from the house for several loops of varied lengths, including Goshen Pass, south to Lexington, etc. Almost no traffic and terrific (though hilly) roads. It was fun picking blackberries in the cowpasture too.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The listing and photos do not do justice to the lodgings and the location. The farm sits in a serene, completely bucolic spot with acres of cattle grazing peacefully. The owners are a lovely, welcoming couple with 2 beagles, 7 chickens and a horse. The loft like space they have created is indeed elegant, spacious and comfortable with fine cabinetry, high ceilings and good bones. Would love to stay there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing.
Owner response: Eileen, thank you for the lovely comments, you are most welcome to come again.

This carriage house is extremely cute and perfect for the 4 of us girls getting away for a weekend! It was clean, decorated nicely, and just enough space. The rollaway beds were comfortable for the 2 of us that didn't sleep on the bed. The fresh eggs in the morning were delicious! And the view is amazing from the house!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We really enjoyed our 3 day stay at the Twin Maple. Though it was the off season and much of the area's attractions/activities are closed, our family enjoyed a rare and beautiful snowfall while we were there. We were also able to do some wine sampling nearby. The people who manage this property are extremely kind and there are a number of small touches that make it lovely. For example, they let my daughter collect eggs from the henhouse and left popcorn for us to make. The space is small but beautiful, well-maintained, and comfortable - the woodwork is lovely. It was a perfect size space for us (2 adults, 1 child, 1 small dog). Highly recommend.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Andrea, thank you for such a lovely review. Best of luck to you all.

We were searching for a convenient spot to rent for a month that was close to Lexington and the the surrounding areas in order to attend college soccer games, but also have enough to see and do in between games. This studio is truly very charming, clean and cozy, and well-equipped even for a lengthy stay. The views from all of the windows of the countryside and farm animals are breathtaking, and we very much enjoyed the owners, Janet and Brian. They were very knowledgeable about the area with suggestions on places to visit and answered all our questions--attentive without being intrusive. All in all we had a great experience and were sad to leave the farm at the end of our stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Jennie, thank you for such a lovely review. Best of luck to you guys. Say hello to Connor for us.

We chose this place on price, but got far more than what we expected. The living room has a cathedral ceiling and is connected to a modern kitchen and spacious bedroom with spectacular balcony views of the adjacent pastures and Shenandoah mountains. Brian and Janet are very nice and just plain folks, even though he is from London and she is from Roanoke via the Vineyard. We enjoyed meeting their horse and their dogs, Winston and Blue. Their farm is a short drive on Route 60 to Lexington. We'll be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We chose this place on price, but received far more than what we expected. It is a beautiful suite in the middle of the most beautiful Shenandoah countryside. Take a look at the photos--cathedral ceiling in a spacious living room, connected to a modern kitchen and a bedroom with a porch that looks out at the mountains. The cabinetry is handmade with detailed craftsmanship. The owners of the farm, Janet and Brian, are very nice and just plain folks, even though he is from London and she is from Roanoke via the Vineyard. You can walk in their pasture for an even better view up top and make friends with their horse and their dogs, Winston and Blue. We'll be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
