My family - 5 of us - stayed for a week in this bright and sunny saltbox on Dorval Island. It was only a 15-minute drive to the old quarter of Montreal very easy from the house. Very easy. The house itself was beyond expectations. Well-equipped (with laundry) and very comfortable. Right on the water, with gorgeous view looking back on Montreal (and plenty of bird watching as well). The owner was accommodating and helpful and very welcoming, as was everyone we met in this small community island. Very quiet, large yard for the kids to play, extremely peaceful. House is right around the bend form the community tennis court - we played every day - and a 3-minute walk from the saltwater pool. (The house also has kayaks and life vests, all in excellent condition.) Island is free of cars, so the kids can run around with some freedom. My oldest daughter rated this vacation - on a scale of ten - one million. We reserved another week shortly after leaving - can't wait to return. A great place.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
