Let me first just say that the place was awesome, the location unbelievable, and the vacation was incredible. I have to admit I was worried going into it b/c the owner was a British guy with a foreign email address and phone! Sorry, but it had scam written all over it...so I did a little homework. I called the resort management company and I did ask them about the rental and the owner. I also called the hotel at which you actually check in (Lake Buena Vista Villas), and lastly I called the very nice British gentleman (Jeremy) myself. So, needless to say I was put at ease. The apartment was in great shape and clean. The space was plenty. We had 9 of us and we had an empty bedroom or two every night depending on where the little ones slept at night. We were very happy how close we were to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney, and Sea World. I think our longest drive was 12 minutes! And the unit was on a lonely piece of land but close to many restaurants and shopping and a very nice Publix grocery store. We did the park hopper passes and with this place it worked great! We hit the parks at open, came back to swim or put a child down for a nap at 4-5pm each day and then back to the parks until close. It was a blast! I felt like a kid again. About the property: we had no problems. The parking was directly under the unit and clean. It was gated and so we needed no key fobs, just the gate codes. The pool was nice, the hot tub amazing. The units were quiet, and several were empty. We did meet one couple who had to wait for a transfer to a new unit b/c of a mix up and their unit hadn't been cleaned (pretty sure this listing covers several units, not just one) but they swam for an hour and then had keys dropped off and all was well. The only thing we needed in the unit was a frying pan! We bought bacon and eggs to cook up and had to use a few small pots instead, lol. We did have a WallMart nearby and we went in the first night for a few things but it was trashed, like it was Christmas they had zero in stock-seriously they had maybe 3 loafs of bread left! :) They only other thing they could use is an area rug to bring down some of the noise in the living room. And a few more towels. But we had read reviews and knew to bring condiments, towels, and expected to get our place bare bones. Overall, great place, great location, great time with friends, and cannot wait to go back! Highly recommended!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The readers digest version of this review is as follows: The property is GREAT. We will stay here again in the future, without question! The long version of this review.... We arrived at the check-in location for Damai (located off site, about a 5 minute drive) a bit early and were greeted warmly by the front desk staff. They quickly checked us in, provided our keys as well as a FOB for the gate to get in. We headed over to Damai (very easy to find) and were very impressed with the exterior landscaping and overall look and feel of the community. It's easy to see that this was supposed to be a much larger development that never took off, which is great. The less people, the better! We identified our unit and parked in our covered parking space (a must in Florida!). These units are 4 bedroom / 4 bathrooms located on 3.5 floors in a town home type setup. You enter in through the parking area and there is a full bedroom (with flat screen TV) and full bathroom on the first floor. You take a set of stairs to get to the next level where the kitchen is. Granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances are a nice touch in this large kitchen. You take a small step up to the formal living room and dining room. The living room has two leather couches, a 42" LCD TV, front door and porch and a set of french doors with a gated balcony. The weather was beautiful in Orlando, so we kept the French doors open for the majority of our stay. Another set of stairs leads to the 3rd floor guest bedrooms as well as a split plan bathroom. These bedrooms upstairs do not have TV's in them, which I think they need to add. Another small set of stairs leads to the washer/dryer (very nice!) and the master suite and master bath. The master suite is very nice, has a queen bed and a flat screen TV. (My only complaint here is the bed up in the master suite should really be a king!). The master bathroom is of good size and the tub and shower are separated by a large glass wall and large glass door. Very classy! The master suite also has a large walk in closet. Outside of the town homes there is an immaculate heated pool and Jacuzzi. The pool area is very well maintained and very high end. Wireless internet is available in each unit via a netgear wireless router connected to Brighthouse networks. Wireless service was very good! We had no issues with speed nor availability throughout all of the floors. We are very impressed with Damai and will be using this as our go-to lodging spot!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for such a details review, I'm sure other potential guests will find it useful. We look forward to serving you again soon.

Stayed here recently for a week (a group of 3 golfers). We were fortunate in finding this in our online searches as most were the typical resort rental/private home with dated furnishings and a third bedroom with twin beds. Based on the description of the property, the location and the price, it was an easy booking decision, but with some hesitation (not a lot of reviews out there). The property turned out to be exceptional and lived up to the promotional material on the website and in the VRBO listing. It was at the luxury resort level with a great layout, high end furnishings and appliances. Very clean and tidy when we arrived. The pool area, especially the jacuzzi, was great for relaxing. Would have preferred having an on site check-in, but it was not that far away. Stairs may be an issue for some. Having stayed the past 2 years in the Davenport area, we found the more central location to better suit our needs. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay in the Disney area.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We stayed here for 5 days. Very nice unit, if you don't mind climbing lots of stairs that is. 46 from the car park to the master bedroom. Unit was clean, although the carpets were stained in many places. Several issues. Hot and cold water is reversed in many places. You could esily burn yourself because of this. En-suite toilet is actually plumbed with hot water, LOL. We were disappointed that we had to purchase absolutely everything we would need to cook and clean the dishes. No dishwasher detergent. No extra toilet paper. Useless dollar store dish soap. No sponges or cloths to do the dishes with. No placemats to eat at the dining room table (we didn't want to put hot dishes directly onto the wood surface in case it damaged the table). Nothing to remove hot items from the over with. No salt, pepper, etc. Thermostat kept resetting itself to randow temperatures, making the place either extremely hot or cold at random requiring constant supervision. Water filter in the fridge needed replacement so we couldn't use that. Our unit faced a construction site that woke us up bright and early at 7am every morning to the wonderful sound of saws and hammers. So although the unit was large, modern, and well located, we wouldn't recommend it based on the fact that it was extremely bare bones for what appears to be a luxury rental. I don't think it's asking too much to provide dishwasher detergent, laundry soap, proper dish soap, extra toilet paper, place mats, oven mitts, and the basic amenities like salt and pepper for a rental of this calibre. We expected to have to buy our own food, but we didn't think we'd be forced to buy our own toilet paper.Owner response: As you will know the homes at Damai are only a few months old and therefore we do expect to have a few teething issues. The work is already in hand to have the plumbing switched, as you were the first guest to have mentioned it. In our welcome pack we do state that we only provide starter soaps, shampoo and detergents, as well as toilet paper, tissues and kitchen towels, which is normal for this type of rental, all of which should have been provided. With regards to salt and pepper, the homes are cleared of all food stuffs after each guest so that there is no chance of you, the new guest, having any contaminated items. The thermostat controller can easily be overridden by guests but unfortunately some guests change the underlying programs, sometimes not fully appreciating what they are changing. This problem along with the water filter and any other minor maintenance issues could have been easily rectified during your stay had you called out our management company, who’s details are clearly given in the guest directory. We welcome all feedback, both positive and negative as we believe that is the best way we can improve our service for the next guest and hope that these issues did not stop you from enjoying your stay at Damai.

Our family (2 adult couples + 2 kids) stayed here for 3 nights in December and had a wonderful experience! We are frequent Disney visitors and have tried many types of accommodations and this is near the top! While there is nothing to beat the convenience of a Disney property hotel (we are DVC members, Disney's timeshare) this is not always an option as it is often difficult to get in-park reservations on short notice like this time. This condo is brand new and has all the best amenities -- secure/gated, free wifi, flat-screen tv's, luxury kitchen, large master shower, not to mention tons of space. We didn't try the pool or exercise room, but the jacuzzi was great. Note: this condo development is just about 20 townhouses or so and a bit isolated in an area set for future development but it is still very close to the Disney parks and super convenient to everything we needed. Overall, I can say this is an incredible value for the asking price. Also, kudos to the management & cleaning staff. In my haste I left behind a suitcase after check-out and they kept the bag perfectly safe and intact for us. Nice to see there are still honest people in this world!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway.

My colleagues and I rented this property to attend a conference at one of the Disney hotels. For the price of one person for one night at the Disney resort, we were able to sleep three people in this great, three-story townhome. With full kitchen and laundry upstairs, it was much better than any hotel we could have booked. Some of us chose to extend our stay to visit the parks and explore the Orlando area. The place is located very close to the Disney parks and hotels -- only about 10 minutes away from where we attended the conference. All of the interior photos on the site are accurate; the place is very clean and impressive, like a luxury resort. There were plenty of towels for our stay, and the washer/dryer if we needed to use it. There was a grocery store a few minutes away and plenty of restaurants nearby. We visited in the winter (meaning 60-70 degrees) so we didn't have the chance to use the property's pool or jacuzzi. We had a rental car, so the covered car port was very convenient -- we could step out of the car and go right into the place. The one day it rained, this was very much appreciated. Admittedly, it was a little strange to check in at another hotel nearby, but that's because it's a private residence. The hotel staff was friendly and offered map and instructions so we could locate Damai easily. And of course, Jeremy's information was very informative and complete. Since part of the stay was work-related and part personal vacation, he was able to create two invoices which made our accounting department happy. In the end, we saved our company a lot of money for lodging, had a much better place to stay, and took advantage of several of the parks, like Universal and Magic Kingdom. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives that planned a vacation to Disney or had a work conference in the area.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This is the best place I have stayed in Orlando by far. There is not much they can do better. The Pool, Jacuzzi, Workout room are great. The Master Bedroom & Bath are Gorgeous. Jeremy was great with contact information. Price was cheaper than 5 star hotels. Simply put you can’t do better than this property.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 7/9
