Charleston house description

Charming late 1800’s Charleston Single with modern upgrades. Located in the Upper King area of Charleston. This home is blocks from the bars and restaurants of Upper King Street, Charleston’s Hottest area and less than two miles from the heart of the historic district.

The home sports a large master bedroom with private sun deck. Enjoy cooking? The home has a gourmet kitchen equipped with 6 burner gas stove, wine cooler and large farmhouse sink. There is also plenty of outdoor living space to enjoy Charleston’s amazing weather – enjoy cocktails on one of the signature double side porches or enjoy the large back yard and deck area that is perfect for grilling and entertaining. The back yard area has a large grill and Big Green Egg. The home also has a large living room with 70” TV and theater quality sound system, Sony Playstation, DirectTV with all pay channels and Blueray DVD player. There is also a separate dining room with large table and fireplace.

Mater Bedroom has King Bed, private bath with claw foot tub, double sink vanity and large walk-in shower. The master bedroom has a separate laundry area and private sun deck with large sun lounger and sitting area. The Second bedroom has a King Bed and fireplace with gas logs. The third bedroom has two Queen beds and easy access to the second floor piazza.

There is off street parking for three cars!

              We are located in the Upper King Street area. You will probably want to drive or take a cab to most of the areas of downtown as we are about 1 mile from the center of the downtown area and 2 miles from the Historic Area. Cabs or long walks are required to get around downtown so it shouldn't be an issue unless you want to walk out the front door to the historic district. Cabs are plentiful and there are many parking garages downtown. Our house borders the newer bar and restaurant district of Upper King - great fun.

              About the owner: We love living in Charleston. We enjoy the beach and the foodie scene here in Charleston. If you love good food, this is the place for you. We are both avid music lovers and Matt spent many years playing drums and touring in bands. We are originally from Delaware, but have lived in Charleston for 10 years now and consider it 'home'. We currently live in this home and rent it out now and again throughout the year. We have a house on Folly Beach that we can stay in, which allows us the freedom to share our home with others.

              Why the Owner Chose Charleston:
              We purchased this property and totally rehabbed it. We decided that if you are going to live in Charleston, you have to live down town and you need to live in a Charleston Single. We just love the double porches and the simplicity of its design. After renovation were complete, the house was featured on HGTV and as you will see, it is really built for fun.

              The house has a great kitchen if you love to cook. There is so much outdoor living space, giving you the ability to truly enjoy the weather. We designed the living areas to flow and the outdoor space is very much a part of the experience.
