What a charming apartment ! :
if you are looking for the charm of a typically traditional French apartment with incredible wooden beams, antique furniture and a unique vue over the Saint Severin Church & square, this is the place to stay.
This 1 BR 46m2 apartment stays in a 17th century building of the “Saint Severin district”. In the early 20th century, it was inhabited by Berthold BRECHT the famous writer. The location is very central, in the middle of the latin quarter (5th) full of restaurants and shops and minutes walk from many monuments (Louvre, Notre-Dame). Subway is at 2 mn.
The apartment qualities:

- Apt was completely refurbished in July 2011
The living room offers 2 different areas : an open kitchen (brand new) with large ancient wooden table that seats 4/6 and a lounge area that offers a comfortable convertible sofa (2 guests) and piece of art furniture pieces (desk, closet). The ceiling is hold by large dark wooden beams. Additionally, a few vertical beams create the space separation in a charming way. The view from the living room on is unique the church and square.
The bedroom is painted with a light clay color. It offer a confortable (new) double bed and a windows with view on the zinc roofs of the building.
Bathroom offers a small bath and shower. It is small but convenient. Toilets are in a specific room.
A small entry with a windows on courtyards opens to bedroom, living room, bathroom & toilets.
The apartment stays on the 4th floor (no elevator, it should be noted the staircase would need refurbishing).
Getting out the building, you may decide to visit the lively Saint Severin street, walk to Notre-Dame Cathedral, visit the Middle age museum with “la Licorne” tapisserie, walk to Saint Germain District to go shopping for the most famous brands or spend your day in the “Louvre” museum.
This location is a perfect base to visit Paris. It stays 10 minute by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming and restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums.

This apartment is safe and very comfortable. It is located in an extremely convenient neighborhood. All appliances in the apartment work well. The apartment an easy walk to the various market. Check-in and check-out procedures were excellently handled. We found it to be a very nice place for our stay in Paris, and we would definitely stay there again and would refer it to family and friends.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Our stay was terrific. The apartment was precisely as advertised. There were some minor unexpected problems that were promptly addressed by management... on Christmas day! If you're looking for a charming, authentic Parisian experience, look no further. We transferred all funds via PayPal and had no issues.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

Perfect place from which to explore! Right in the middle of the Latin Quarter, walking distance to Notre Dame, Le Cluny and zillions of restaurants. Very charming as long as you can make it up the four flights of stairs (we used the stairs to justify more chocolate consumption!) The landlord is very helpful, will stay there again next time we go!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My stay in Paris was superb thanks to this charming and comfortable apartment. The authenticity of the vintage furniture and woodwork are not to be found in other apartments in this price range. The location in the Latin Quarter is ideal. You can walk to most of the places that you would like to visit, yet you are sufficiently protected from regions of the hustle and bustle of tourists. It feels as though you live in Paris, rather than feeling like you are a tourist. The owner and Housekeeper were friendly and helpful. I will miss breakfast each morning with a view like a bird while gazing at the Church of St. Severin across the street, and this is but one of several reasons why I must return to the 'Bertold Brecht' apartment when I am in Paris again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

"Apartment Jacques" is ideally situated in the very best part of the Latin Quarter, with all amenities a mere few steps away. The four floor walk up is really not that difficult to manage and good for exercise. The apartment and stair well is a stage set for La Boheme, in which any minute one expects Mimi and Rodolfo to round the corner singing 'O soave fanciulla'. The apartment is appointed with wonderful pieces of antique furniture, and is very comfortable for 3,if not 4 persons. The kitchen is very functional and everything works. I would not hesitate to recommend this vacation rental to anyone who wants something with a bit of character and also a very competent management that is quite trustworthy. Description of this property is accurate. The location was perfect for sight-seeing. On and off the metro is easy and you can walk to many attractions. The view from the apartment window of St. Severein is lovely and Notre Dame is truly a 3-minute walk. We took our teenage daughters with us and we all slept comfortably. The apartment was a little cramped for the 4 of us but we didn't linger there very long. It was great to be able to do laundry and cook some meals. We saved lots of money on food and having a "home" base for the week was great. Warning: This 4-story walk-up is not for people who have problems with stairs. This is a typical apartment for this neighborhood, but if you are looking for "luxury," this one is not for you. If you are looking to be in the middle of all the action of the Latin Quarter and want to use this as a place to rest well at night, it serves very well.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Well equipped apartment in a superb location for exploring on foot the Latin Quarter , Saint-Germain-des-Pres, Ile de la Cite, Ile Saint Louis and Marais districts. A short walk from the Saint Michel Notre Dame metro station which connects directly to the CDG airport via the RER B line and is a hub for the city underground lines. Fresh bread and pastries are available immediately below the apartment and there is a good outdoor market nearby at Place Maubert. There is a beautiful indoor swimming pool near the market and an abundance of cafes, restaurants and shops in all directions. In addition to the widely advertised concerts in well-known locations, the Paris Conservatoire offers a program of concerts at St Ephrem's church on Rue des Carmes, also near the market. The church has excellent acoustics. Be aware that the stairs to the 4th floor apartment are steep and winding. Travellers with heavy cases may find them a bit difficult to manage.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
