Centrally located in the amazing Washington Cascades Mountain to Sound Greenway just 90 minutes east of downtown Seattle, yet a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This spacious 2200 square foot property is your perfect home base for year round outdoor family fun. See below for a quick synopsis of major recreational activities available. Feel free to request our mind blowing, detailed list of fun stuff to do and see, along with links, all within an hour of our home. We’re nestled in the wooded community of Elk Meadows, across the road from the mighty Yakima river, about 10 minutes from the towns of Roslyn and Cle Elum. Our home's proximity to I-90 (5 minutes away) makes it close to all that the Central Cascades has to offer.
The house features a fully appointed kitchen boasting a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and dishwasher. The adjoining dining room seats six, with seating for 4 more at the kitchen island. Dining room also features a small gas fired pot belly fireplace.
Need to get some work done while you're here? Settle into the big roll-top desk and bring your laptop because there's free wireless internet throughout the house! Our close proximity to the I-90 corridor not only assures quick access to points east and west, but also great cell phone reception with most major providers.
The downstairs is rounded out by one full bathroom, 2 bedrooms (one with queen bed, the other a “kid’s bunkhouse” (featuring 3 single beds and a big TV with DVD player, with lots of toys in the toy box. Living room includes a flat screen TV, DVD player, and a Wii gaming system. There's a cd player/iPod dock downstairs and awesome vintage stereo in the rec room so bring your favorite cd's or plug in your ipod. We also have a queen size airbed that accommodates 2 more sleepers.
Actual bed space for 11, but the house is big and there's room for 3 more kids on the floor...bring sleeping bags. We have a Pack'n'Play for your little one.
On the second floor you’ll find 2 more bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and the other the master bedroom that boasts a super comfy king bed with memory foam topper, walk-in closet, and romantic balcony that overlooks the front yard.
Enjoy ping pong, mini billiards, and air hockey in the huge rec room that takes up the entire 3rd floor.
Kids and adults will love the outdoor fire pit, perfect for making s’mores and campfire memories year round (subject to occasional US Fire Service 'burn bans' in the summer months). There’s easy access across the road to the gorgeous Yakima River. We love to float it in the summer months (it’s a gentle float for the whole family) and fly fish it in all but the winter months. Take a leisurely snowmobile cruise (15 mph limit) around the neighborhood during the snowy months (Mother Nature willing), or load up your snowmobile(s) and trailer them to any number of nearby trails. You're smack dab in the middle of Snowmobile Heaven...Washington's Central Cascades!

What we love most about our home in the Washington Cascades are the recreational opportunities. Here’s a brief rundown, all an hour or less away:
SPRING, SUMMER, and FALL –
-Fly fishing the Yakima River, including Blue Ribbon trout fishing in the world renowned Yakima River Canyon. Hire a guide or go it alone, it’s totally amazing and indescribably beautiful. The canyon is also a great place to float down the river in a raft or innertube.
-World Class Golf at Suncadia Resort (Arnold Palmer designed course), there’s also the more modest Sun Country course just 5 minutes away.
-Boating, sailing, kayaking, and jet skiing on Lake Cle Elum.
-Lake and stream fishing.
-Hiking
-Climbing
-Dirt biking

-Skiing, snowboarding, and tubing at Snoqualmie Summit

-Shopping and dining in the town of Cle Elum. There’s a big Safeway here for all of your grocery shopping needs. They also rent DVDs.
-Fine dining and Spa services at the exquisite Suncadia Resort.
-Shopping galore at the North Bend outlet mall just 45 minutes west. Fans of the TV show 'Twin Peaks' will recognize North Bend as the setting for much of the series.
-Seattle is only 90 minutes away...catch a Seahawks, Sounders, or Mariners game, visit the Pike Place Market, or just spend the day sightseeing in one of America's most beautiful cities!

Had a great time staying at the cabin and would definitely stay again. We'll be sure to refer our family and friends to you so they can also enjoy their stay. We played four different golf courses (Snoqualmie Falls, Rope Rider, Apple Tree, and Sun Country) and had many laughs, golf frustration, and all around smiles. We had three families, 6 adults and 4 kids, staying at the house and it was perfect! Comfortable, clean, and very well cared for. Bill even called to make sure we had settled in OK and had everything we needed. Definitely the best place we've ever stayed for our annual snow weekend with friends. We almost didn't need to bring all the books and toys with us...the house had plenty to keep the kids entertained. Then Suncadia resort was just a short drive away for all the sledding, x-country skiing and snow shoeing. A few of us even took a walk around the immediate area to admire the river and ponds nearby. In short a wonderful weekend in a wonderful house!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We took a time out from the holiday chaos and escaped to this house with our family to celebrate Christmas, relax and play in the snow. The home was very clean and comfortable with plenty of accommodations for everyone. We enjoyed a great dinner in the stocked kitchen and then gathered in the large living room to open our gifts...the owner was even nice enough to provide us a live tree! The kids had fun in the snow (making a snowman). We made memories that will never be forgotten, this is certain.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This year for our annual golf trip we headed to Cle Elum to play Suncadia's two courses.Rather than stay in the expensive Suncadia resort, we chose to stay at this house. We saved plenty of money, and the house was perfect for four of us. There is an abundance of room and it seemed everything in the house -- carpet, paint, etc -- was brand new. The golf course was just minutes away, as were Roslyn and the Cle Elum, where you will find restaurants, grocery stores and more. I expect we will retun to the house next year for our annual golf trip.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
