Upper Camelot is located on a fine white sand beach with stunning views and beautiful sunsets.
The lagoon is perfect, with safe swimming in crystal clear water for the whole family.and enjoy great snorkeling and good surfing on the outer reef just in front.
This is a great place for walking. You wont need a car, as all amenities are within a short walk.
Explore the Historic Garrison Savannah area, with museum, art gallery, and horse racing, or take the boardwalk to shops, banks, restaurants and bars. Walk the beach and discover other small lagoons and sufing spots or try out the breakfast buffets at various hotels along the way.
Be sure to have dinner in one of the restaurants nearby, you may even get to see a turtle laying eggs on the beach in front of you.
Although we provide maid service once per week, along with toilet paper, bin liners, liquid soap, and laundry detergent etc., this is a self catering apartment and we ask that you replace what you use and leave the apartment as clean and tidy as you found it on arrival.

We fell in love with Upper Camelot! We stayed 5 nights in June attending my step-daughters wedding......then off to another wedding in LA would you believe! We were 5 adults and Upper Camelot was just the perfect place to stay. Everyone agreed I'd got things spot on! The appartment, the house and the beach are stunning and Mark is the most gracious host. Most of our time in Barbados was spent with wedding related activities and we found it so relaxing to come back to what usually felt like our own private beach. Like other guests we enjoyed eating at Tapas ( book to get a sea view table) and the day after the wedding, all the guests went to Oistins for the Friday fish fry. It's very easy to get around as buses and the reggae mini bus taxis all stop nearby and charge a standard 2 B$ or 1 US$ which is very good....... remember to have the right change! Upper Camelot is a special place and we didn't want to leave. Would recommend unreservedly.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Review Submitted: December 15, 2011 Date of Stay: November 2011 Upper Camelot was our home for two weeks and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Mark is a very friendly, accommodating, and helpful host who was always available for questions during our entire stay. Upper Camelot is elegantly furnished and situated right on the beach. Sitting on the balcony of the master bedroom in the morning and looking down onto the beach while drinking a coffee is a one-of-a-kind experience! The "house beach" with a little lagoon is good for a swim and other beaches within a few minutes walking distance offer different experiences. There are some nice restaurants around, some of them directly on the beach. If you have about an hour, you can walk into Bridgetown along the beaches. The entire experience was great and when we come back to Barbados, we will absolutely rent from Mark again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Review Submitted: September 14, 2011 Date of Stay: August 2011 I stayed in Upper Camelot and Lower Camelot with my daughters aged 15 and 16 for a week in August 2011. Upper Camelot if nicer than Lower Camelot but the lower apartment is itself a very nice apartment. We had a very comfortable stay. Mark made us feel very welcome and ensured that we knew from the start how everything in the house worked. I holiday in Barbados frequently, and am also from Barbados originally, so what I can say is that this apartment occupies an amazing location, with views up and down the beach, is walking distance to many decent restaurants and is good location for promenading (or jogging) as it's at one end of the south coast boardwalkj. The apartment is very comfortably furnished and has everything you would require for a self-catering holiday if that's what you want. The decor of the house is modern, even though it has been restored in keeping with traditional Barbadian architecture with wooden floors etc. There is plenty of character. I think it's worth paying extra for the aircon in the living areas as they get warm at night. During the day it's breezy and all the windows and doors are open anyway!! The beach in literally on the doorstep and the area is excellent for snorkelling and safe bathingDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Review brought in from Home Away Holiday Rentals Review Submitted: July 8, 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011 View outstanding! Attention to detail in the house is amazing! Owner was very helpful. The layout of the house was great. We spent hours and hours out on the patio enjoying the view. The proximity to food and activities make having a car is a toss up.Did you find this review helpful? Review brought in from Home Away Holiday Rentals Review Submitted: June 28, 2011 I spent a week in June at Upper Camelot and can whole heartedly recommend it to any bim vacationer. There is no substitute for being right on the beach, it’s all about location. The property was lovingly restored with unparalleled balconies and views. Having the boardwalk near is convenient so you don’t have to walk along the main road to get to local restaurants. However, if you need to get anywhere else on the island then the bus goes right by the house. I spent a good bit of time lying on the bathroom floor just appreciating the interesting roof construction. I had no problem with mosquitoes at this rental even though I sat out on the balcony to watch the sunsets. The shoreline is right outside your door, calling you for a good stroll or swim at any time. My favorite memory is waiting for the brief but enthusiastic rains and running down to get in the water to watch the rain hit the ocean surface. You don’t need to dive to appreciate the colorful reef fish that populate the breakwater rocks. Mark is a wonderful host that is willing to freely share his love of the island and his knowledge of local history. You can’t lose if you choose this rental, you won’t be disappointed!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Review brought in from Home Away Holiday Rentals Review Submitted: April 30, 2011 We have three children aged 7 to 10 years. Lovely holiday in the apartment. found it clean, spacious, comfortable, especially the beds! The location is amazing: you can follow the coast for a mile to the east along the beautiful boardwalk, lots of restaurants along here: 'Blakeys' is the first you reach, it looks basic, but the service and food is really good (chocolate brownie & ice-cream was fabulous!), a bit further along is Tapas - very good and Black Pearl - good but the most pricey of the three. There's a Hagan Daaz opposite Tapas and a small supermarket by that. Boardwalk great for a morning jog too. TGI Fridays was also good - dress with air-con in mind! To the west you can walk to The Hilton. lovely coastline, dotted with private houses, apartments and a hotel, the waves can get quite big so we were grateful for the lagoon in front on the apartment, it's too shallow to swim when the tide's out (4ft when tide in), but fun for children to play in. the rocks were good to walk along, though we wished we'd taken the neoprene/beach shoes for the children. We loved the El Tigre catamaran trip, also had a fancy night out to The Cliff restaurant - amazing - like a Bond set, but pricey at around £120 pp. Get to Big B supermarket early in your trip (it's only half a mile past end of boardwalk) but they have good variety of everything, incl. fruit and veg, steak/sausages, suncream, etc. Mark kindly found us a grill to make a BBQ on the beach, he also arranged some sticks for the fire! When our airport mini-bus turned out to be a small taxi, Mark very kindly helped us with a lift! Highly recommend Upper Camelot, we had friends staying in Lower Camelot too, so it was perfect for two families.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Review brought in from Home Away Holiday Rentals Review Submitted: April 17, 2011 My friends and I have been coming for seven years now and we usually stay at Coconut Court because of the area. This past March we decided to rent Upper Camelot. I can't say enough about the place and Mark, the owner. The pictures are exactly what you get which was completely remodeled by Mark who is an architect. The details are amazing. Mark is very genuine and first meeting you felt you've known forever. His wife, Aoyi, makes unbelievable Thai food. So we were able to have friends over and have her make the dinner. All in all, every year we go back to Barbados it just gets better and better. Location, location, location....this is it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Review Submitted: February 21, 2011 Date of Stay: February 2011 A beautiful apartment in a fantastic location - stunning views from the balcony with very safe swimming for children in the lagoon. The apartment was beautifully appointed, clean and clearly very well maintained. Favourite restaurants nearby were Tapas and Champers or Blakeys for more casual surroundings with great Bajan meals. A wonderful holiday!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
