The view. The view. The view!! It is simply breathtaking -- and from so many places in this beautiful, well-maintained, well-designed home. We felt at peace on our vacation here. The quiet was lovely. The eagles & turkey vultures amazing to watch, riding the air. We cooked many meals in the lovely, comfortable kitchen. And the house has so many places to sit & enjoy -- from the lovely, farm-house kitchen table to the island to the wrap-around deck to the cozy window-well seats in the living room & upstairs bedrooms. The master bath is peaceful & looks out onto a grove of trees. The owners have a terrific library - I felt a bit like I was in a small library/bookstore & loved looking through art, architecture, education, and other titles. Nice seclusion & peace.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This large home offers breathtaking panoramic views from one of the highest points on the island. Staying here provides the feeling you are alone, yet you are really close to the main shopping and art areas. The house provides comfort for all in large spacious rooms and gets its warmth from a large fireplace. The pictures do not do the place justice...and quality of the amenities are excellent. The wrap around decks are great for letting the days pass by and the french inspired decor makes it easy to spend the nights inside. Stargazing at night is good as well, as there are no lights anywhere nearby. One of the best places on the island for sure.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I have never experienced such a magnificent place. The view is literally a panorama which one moment shows striking sunrise to gulf island serenity to the dramatic snowy peak of Mt Baker. It is impossible to describe this view fully and it needs to be experienced. The house is lovely, very comfortable and beautifully designed. The bath is gorgeous. As you soak you feel as if you are in the forest. The owner is wonderful and the caretaker is a helpful gem. And all this on an extremely private, quiet, serene acreage. Amazing. I highly recommend staying, just to experience the magic of it.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

It is a wonderful thing to feel at home on a vacation. That is how we felt during our stay at this property. The house and property were beautiful, clean and perfectly maintained. We watched the sun and moon rise each day behind the already fabulous views. The owner's were helpful during the rental process. I would recommend this property for a laid back stay on Salt Spring!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2002
About the owner: My husband and I built our dream house on this fantastic view property. For 9 years we have lived to find time to go be there as it is not our primary residence. This is the first time we have listed it to be rented.
Why the Owner Chose Ganges:
When I visited Salt Spring Island 10 years ago I met someone who said, 'there is healing properties in the soil on this magical island' . At the time I needed healing and this resonated with me. I began visiting Saltspring after that every chance I could. Ultimately my husband and I decided we had to build our dream house there.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
In the summer nature calls to you from every spot. For instance, we have placed a shower stall outside on the deck in a very private spot so it seems like you are showering while in the woods.
In the winter the couches in front of the wood burning fireplace beckon you to please come, curl up and read a book.
