I have bought a new 52' Aquos TV for the living room that will now have an extended Verizon FIOS Viewing Selection.
The Palm Desert Resort Country Club sits on 150 beautifully landscaped acres with an 18 hole, Championship Golf Course. The property is spaciously laid out with lots of beautiful mature trees, Ponds, waterfalls, desert landscape, Rocks, and gorgeous lighting at night showcasing the property in a different light.....literally. There is a 24 hour Security gate staffed by 2 guards and a constant Security Patrol...however there is no nitpicking and the guards and staff are very nice and pleasant. There are 21 seperate pool and jacuzzi area's that you can visit, the pools and jacuzzi's are large by todays standards and have shaded area's, a clock, and lounge chairs, tables and chairs at each pool. There is a spacious Clubhouse with a Bar, Restaurant, lounge area with 2 widescreen TV's, and huge outdoor back patio that has numerous tables and chairs on a covered patio along with a large gas firepit that overlooks 2 beautiful ponds that have a waterfall.......this is framed by lots of open green space, towering Palm Trees, and a 180 degree view of the huge San Jacinto Mountains in the background. Private Streets with golf cart lanes allow for fun golf cart rides, (including on the golf course, lots of fun!, at the clubhouse you can rent Golf Carts by the day), easy bike riding and walking/jogging.
All units are single story and duplex style.......the complex didn't 'build out all the way' and has a lot more open space than most.....being built in 1981 it has a much more open feel than crammed, newer Country Clubs........this allows for more 'Sky View', Sunshine, Star Gazing, and overall quality of life.
I wanted a unit that was close to a swimming pool and had a good view of the mountains......I also wanted the patio to face the North and that's exactly what this unit has......its ideal in the sense that its 40 steps to the pool which makes it one of the closest units to a pool in the Country Club but not too close for noise purposes. Its a straight shot from all 3 sets of sliding glass doors.......8 foot sliders in both bedrooms and the living room that share the patio in the back that spans the entire length of the unit.......making this unit and floorplan the most popular floorplan in the Country Club. All in all the property is just gorgeous, you feel extremely safe, I call it 'The Park', it feels like a small town in a fairy tale and has a feel of the 70's to me.......although I don't recommend it I have left my laptop on the kitchen counter with all the lights on, sliding glass door in the living room wide open, not just unlocked, front door unlocked, and been out on the golf cart with friends enjoying the beauty of the night for hours and have had no problems........I don't do this on key weekends when there are a lot of out of towners from LA around and I don't recommend it but I am being honest......for what its worth. :)
The unit itself........when I bought it, it was in the 1980's......I had it completely remodeled from end to end.....gutted......here is the main list of changes.......New Tile in the Kitchen and Living Room, New Carpet in both Bedrooms, Ceilings had the popcorn scraped off, refinished all ceilings and walls in the entire unit, added 3 ceiling fans, 1 in each bedroom and one in the living room, knocked out a wall in the kitchen and opened it up, put in new granite counter tops in both bathrooms and the kitchen, ran the granite up the wall to the bottom of new cabinets, new sink, and faucets in kitchen, both bathrooms, new vanity's in both bathrooms as well as new mirrors, lighting, toilets, new appliances all the way around, new door frames, doors, quality top of the line mattress's (very important to me) from Costco, all new towels and linens from Costco, new quality furniture from Costco, this unit is a second home unit more than it is a 'Rental'......nothing was skimped or skipped. The laundry room was re-arranged and a stackable washer and dryer was added along with a stainless steel bakers rack from Costco for storage. New silverware, pots,pans, dishes, everything. The Bedrooms are large, spacious, and have lots of closet space. The last thing I can think of is I recently added a screen door to the front door so you can leave the front door open and enjoy the sunshine of the morning hours without worrying about children or pets getting outside.
The outdoor patio is spacious and has a great view of the mountains.......at night its beautiful looking at the landscaping lights light up the trees from underneath as well as the median that is land and light scaped looking towards the mountains..........the views at night are as pretty as they are during the day.
There is a new gas grill, glass table top patio table, lots of chairs a rocker/glider, a wood fire pit, and two patio, gas firepots that put off an olympic style torch flame to them......they look and feel great at night.
I used to go through a local Vacation Property Management Company and have priced my unit at 10% less than they used to charge while providing an upgraded and modernized unit in a prime location. If you are looking for a spacious, modern, comfortable single story condo in a beautiful park like setting (I need at add more pictures of that), in a safe, laid back atmosphere with lots to see and do then this is it......you won't be sorry. - New Ceiling fans with lighting were added to both bedrooms and the living room........Unique Paintings and a few Antiques compliment the unit.........a screen front door was recently added to keep pets from wandering outside and to allow the North Facing unit some sunshine and ambient light coming in from the South, especially during Winter Months. There are two Propane fueled Fire Pots on the back patio that put out a lot of heat and put off an Olympic Torch type flame........flame is adjustable, very cool and beautiful to look at. Lightscaping........one of my favorite things is to sit on the patio at night and watch the transition from day to night as the lights come on illuminating trees and desert plants from the ground up creating a completely different look..........lights are used a lot in the desert as its so dry and clear and they make for a beautiful lightscape you will not see anywhere else....moreless
