We have stayed at Amelia Island more than 4 times and this home is our favorite due to its spaciousness, well stocked kitchen, patio and location. A good value. Our only recommendation is a better grill. The current grill is too small and not able to accomodate cooking a dinner for a family of 5. We would recommend this property and hope to return next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Amelia Island is a beautiful place with lots of things to do, and this house was perfect for us. It's a short walk to the beach, and the beach is wonderful and not overcrowded. The house is spacious and it was great to have WiFi plus a study to set up our computers. We were there in warm weather but the fireplace in the living room was inviting had we needed it. The patio area is very private and it was great to have a garage to park our rental car in. This house is nicely furnished and has everything we needed. The view in the morning from the Master Bedroom is really special - a mass of the Island's Live Oaks. We ate out mostly and enjoyed the Verandah Restaurant and Lulu's. We also had the opportunity to eat at the Amelia Club which has just been renovated and is gorgeous. We're golfers and love the Plantation golf courses - inland and ocean holes that provide lots of challenges. Overall, it was a really fun experience; we can't wait to go back and will definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My family of three was traveling with another family of three. We wanted to stay where we could get away from it all, but could be sure that the kids would be safe even when they explored on their own. We chose Amelia Island Plantation because we had been there before, and knew that it was secure. The kids enjoyed riding bikes on all of the dedicated paths. The wives liked shopping, while the men enjoyed the golf. All enjoyed walks through the property as well as on the beach. We also liked Fort Clinch park and our boat tour of Cumberland Island, GA. This home appealed to us as it had essentially two master bedrooms. It is in very good condition. Its beautiful location is nestled among dozens of large oak trees. The rental firm was a joy to work with. Upon arrival, our primary disappointment was that the house did not have a DVD player. We ended up buying an inexpensive unit at WalMart to use while we were there. Also, we asked for internet and were told that the house had it, but that was not the case. We made due with air-cards, but coverage was not great. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend thiis house and Amelia Island in general.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
