Tucked away in the woods at the end of a long street, past farmland, this house offers the privacy and relaxing experience that the Hamptons is known for. Surrounded by trees and facing a field, you won't see any other houses - almost a rarity now in the Hamptons.
Upon entering, you will be struck by the open air architecture and excellent light provided by a back wall nearly full of windows. The master bedroom with connecting bath and walk-in closet is located at the top the staircase, and is the only room on the upper floor of that side of the house. You will truly feel like you can get away from it all. Across a balcony walkway, you will find two smaller bedrooms with a shared full bath that connects to one of the rooms. One room is perfect for children, with two twin beds; the other could be used for an older child or for a guest couple and features one full size bed. Downstairs, you will find one large guest bedroom located under the master bedroom and of equal size, with adjoining full bath and walk in closet. This room is perfect for a guest family or for sleepovers for the kids, with 2 twin beds and 1 full bed. Across the hall, the computer room also houses a full bed that can be used for overnight guests. As you walk around the corner into the main living area, you will pass a wood-burning fireplace with chair, and continue into the dining area, which leads to the kitchen and main living room. The kitchen is large, with plenty of cooking space, an island extension, and marble-topped counters. Four stools are perched on the other side of the island extension so your family and guests can sit and talk to the chef. It's an excellent and homey conversation area.
Around the corner is the main living room, which has a large, cathedral-type ceiling with a wood-burning fireplace and large nearly floor to ceiling windows. This room also houses a 65" flat screen TV, perfect for family movie night or your favorite sports team. Down a hallway you will find another bedroom with full connecting bath, perfect for guests or a nanny. This hallway also leads to the 2 car garage.
There are 3 sets of French-type doors that lead to the back deck, which looks out on the well-tended and flowering yard, complete with pool. Behind the pool is a field, part of the property, which provides additional beauty and privacy. Deer will cross the field in the evening and often stop to feed - a peaceful scene you can enjoy from the back deck with a glass of wine. All in all, a vacation home you will want to return to again and again.

          Year Purchased: 2001

          About the owner: I love summer. Love the outdoors and nature, the beach and the vineyard. My dog visits this house with me every time I do and loves the backyard (the deer not so much). I'd like to travel more.

          Why the Owner Chose Water Mill:
          I've been coming to the Hamptons for over 20 years, since high school, and after 6 years of rentals, knew what I wanted in a house and where I wanted to live. Water Mill is a friendly, quiet town with lots of farms, and is almost equidistant between Southampton and Sag Harbor - two towns you will love.

          The Unique Benefits at this House:
          Privacy, relaxation. I run through the field in front which I love. You can easily bike ride on back roads as well - staying off the main roads is key to an enjoyable ride. Short drive to the beach - and you can choose from 2. Close to Southampton shopping and Sag Harbor and Bridgehampton restaurants.
