Sitting on the crest of the hill, in Dundee, is our beautifully crafted, custom home on a landscaped acre, overlooking vineyards, trees and rolling hills.
Highlights on the main level include: A gourmet kitchen with slab granite, built-in oven, warming oven, cherry cabinets with soft-close cupboards and drawers, walk-in pantry, open beam ceililng and skylights and direct access to the deck. Two master bedrooms; the family room has a large, flat screen HD- TV and a gas fireplace; Also on this level: the formal dining room; utility room, a craft room and a half bath and there are views from most rooms.
An extra-wide stairwell leads to a large bonus room [with pool-table etc.], one additional bedroom with walk-in closet and a full bath and an another bedroom currently serving as an office.
The large back deck includes a covered area, gas barbeque grilll, seating for 6-10, a water feature and is our favorite location for breakfasts, dinners, evening 'happy hours' enjoying the excellent Oregon wines... [many of which are from Dundee Hills Appellation in the heart of which we live!]. A special reward the deck offers is observing activities of the wildlife, usually with early morning coffee, or during the almost daily ritual of 'watching the evening' .
So many 'Ah-ha' moments in our few short years here that we feel privileged to share them with guests.

This was the perfect locale for our party of six to enjoy a weekend of wine tasting and cooking. We spent 3 nights in their home and was so convenient for all that we wanted to do. Though there are excellent restaurants all around, we chose to use their beautiful kitchen and access to fabulous seafood. The deck is incredible to sit and enjoy with friends. Our hosts were very attentive to help with any questions we had and was a great experience for us in renting a home. We thank you for sharing your lovely home and your incredible handmade quilts!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

We couldn't have asked for more from this fabulous vacation rental! The location was perfect, high in the Dundee Hills -- the view from the deck was spectacular, particularly enjoyable while sipping a local pinot noir. We visited several tasting rooms just down the hill in Dundee, and ventured out into nearby towns as well. Our favorites: Torii Mor, Argyle, Stoller, and Dobbes... but so many more to try! Dundee also has the Red Hills Market, where we sampled very tasty wood-fired pizza on three occasions during our stay. Jon and Evie's home is spacious and well-appointed, with a chef's kitchen that we used to fix dinner every night -- seafood from the Northwest Seafood Market, chicken piccata, and fresh pan-fried razor clams. The Ekornes recliners were comfortable and inviting, the beds were just right, the showers hot and refreshing, and Jon and Evie's recommendations for area attractions were spot on. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend this rental to any and all. We will be back!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

The house met the listing description and then some. Photos provided in the listing accurately represented the home. Only six years old, the home was well maintained, well appointed and provided all the amenities for a four night stay. The pantry was well supplied with items needed for meal preparation--all we needed to provide was the basic ingredients for our meals. The owners greeted us upon arrival and provided an overview of the area, with suggestions of places to go and things to see and do, including some local wineries and the air museum in McMinnville (a must see). Later in our stay, we were pleasantly surprised when the owner delivered 12 ears of roasting corn for our enjoyment. We were three couples (two from SoCal and one from WA) who enjoy wine tasting excursions on the west coast. This property more than met our needs and was perfectly situated within Oregon's wine country making it easy for us to visit several nearby wineries. Located atop a hill in a quiet area of Dundee, the home offered an excellent view from the deck of the vineyards across the valley. On our final morning, we were fortunate to have a visit from six deer as they slowly crossed the yard, munching on the owner's newly planted geraniums..just as he had predicted. We highly recommend others to consider renting this home and should we visit the area in the future, it will clearly be our first choice.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This home was as comfortable and accommodating as the description and pictures showed. Jon and Evie are very friendly, hospitable and helpful hosts. Their home is lovely and the setting is peaceful and beautiful in the hills of Dundee. This home has everything you need for a relaxing get away. Plenty of space to enjoy and be comfortable. Close to many vineyards in the Willamette wine country. We chose their home from the wonderful descriptions and pictures and it was close to the vineyard that our daughter had her wedding ceremony. Would highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This is a beautiful home on a hill with panoramic views of the countryside. It's in a great location; both private and convenient. It is right in the middle of the Willamette wine country. The home is very nice and spacious and in meticulous condition. The listing was accurate but we were pleasantly surprised when we actually saw it. Last, the owners are very nice people and made the stay even more enjoyable.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Our group of three couples, had a wonderful time visiting wineries around Dundee and our host provided a wonderful home in which we could stay. The location was perfectly situated to explore the area and with recommendations Jon provided, we captured the spectrum of wineries-- small, boutique to larger mainstream. Coming home at the end of the day and making pizza from local produce, drinking pinot and sitting on the deck made this a trip of a lifetime!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Lovely house, amazing vineyard views/sunsets from the top of the Dundee Hills. This place has a huge, well-equipped kitchen and a grill that gets nice and hot on the deck outside (too often, homes I rent are lacking in good cooking equipment, and there's too much good produce in Oregon to not cook at least one meal). Wifi, pool table, comfy beds were all perks. Wine fridge to help store the gems found out tasting during the day. Short, 3/4 mile walk down through neighborhood setting to the town of Dundee (all downhill, it's a hike back up, but a great way to burn off the calories you'll be packing on in wine country). Don't be surprised to see a deer or two, who don't seem fazed by your presence at all. Red Hills Market, Dundee Bistro, Tina's, Red Hills Provencial Dining all great places to eat in Dundee. Also, tasting rooms within walking distance (Argyle, Ponzi, and Dobbes- a personal favorite). Quick 2 mile drive to larger Newberg for more food and tasting room options. Tons of great wineries in very short distance. Right off 99W, so straight shot (and there aren't many) to the beautiful Oregon coast. The owners of the house are super friendly and accommodating, and were very kid-friendly (we had our 2 year old daughter with us). I would definitely, highly recommend this place as a great home-base for anyone who wants to discover the Willamette Valley!Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

My friends and I had the good fortune to stay in Dundee for the Fueled by Fine Wine Half Marathon. What a treat! The home has such a lovely view, and a delightful deck for relaxing. It is also wonderful to have such a deluxe kitchen for preparing and sharing meals. I brought my two daughters (ages 4 and 6). We had a great time playing in the yard, and exploring the nearby water park and aviation museum. John and Evie (property owners) were on site during our stay, so they were right there in case we needed anything at all. We had a lovely weekend, and look forward to our next trip.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: We are retired from a medical practice, though remain 'serving' via 'pro-bono' consultations. The home we designed, and built, for these years has fulfilled part of our dreams, but now that the grandkids are growing, we have more opportunity to get away, travel and work on our own 'bucket list'. This, of course, includes experiencing yet unexplored wonders of our own Northwest with a priority on the fishing, crabbing, clamming that remain favorite time investments [for me], while my wife favors theater productions, sightseeing and anything to do with crafts and/or crafting art [especially quilting].
Why the Owner Chose Dundee:
This home is for us and our family, and now we choose to share it with selected new friends thru VRBO/HA that have similar interests.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Dundee is stragetically located in the North Willamette Valley which harbors 6 of Oregon's 16 AVA;s. We are but minutes, or a couple of hours away from most of the amenities mentioned above...yet, peace and quiet prevails in this small town that still has only one stop light! An additional benefit for guests is that we remain available by phone, and are nearby, which facilitates assistance for any 'needs' that might present during their stay in this unique home.
