The 'Salty Dolphin' is a spectacular canal home with over 2,000 square feet of clean, uncluttered, living space with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. With all new furniture, housewares, electronics and art work added in November, 2008, this home offers a contemporary, Caribbean flare with many special touches. The lanai has an extra large heated pool with a cage and baby barrier fence, a cushy seating area with a bar, grill and lounge chairs. There are two docks and a high capacity boat lift. The quiet neighborhood is great for walking, running and biking and is only minutes to Fisherman's Wharf & the downtown area. We welcome families and couples for week long vacations as well as retirees coming to enjoy a long term rental in the sun. We have a master bedroom overlooking the pool, a queen guest room and a third guest room suitable for children or another couple. We are child/baby-friendly. The pool offers a new Baby Barrier safety fence to ensure safety.
Airports/Area
AIRPORTS: 40 minutes to RSW in Fort Myers; 1 hour to SRQ in Sarasota; or 1 hour and 45 minutes to TPA in Tampa.
GREAT LOCATION: Punta Gorda is one of Florida's last great gems. It's a boaters paridise with great cruising/sailing and fishing right from your back door. The atmosphere is casual and low key and the people here are friendly and helpful. There is a beautiful historic downtown with shops and restaurants. The town is off the beaten highway path, yet close and easy access to everything you need. Beautiful beaches, unlimited shopping, children's attractions, movies/theater and cultural activities are all readily available within short drive.
Shopping/Boating/Restaurants
SHOPPING: Less than 5 minutes to Fisherman's Village and lots of charming local shops in town or several major shopping malls about a half hour drive. Several Grocery Stores, Drug Stores, Banks, Super Wal-Mart and Home Depot within 2-5 miles.
BOATING: Bring your power boat or rent one at Holidaze. The double wide boat dock with lift is just steps from the pool and it’s only a short cruise to Charlotte Harbor.
RESTAURANTS: Fisherman's village and lots of great restaurants downtown all within 5 minutes.
Lots of Extras
Meticulous owners have included lots of extras. All high end linens are provided including beach towels, beach chairs and coolers. The owners have added many special touches to ensure your vacation is perfect and carefree. Ask about child/baby gear that comes with the rental. We welcome couples who are looking for a romantic get away, snow birds seeking long term rentals and young familes who are visiting family in the area. We are family friendly to those with young children and offer a high chair, packnplay crib, kiddie pool, umbrella stroller. If you are renters who return to the area a couple of times a year, ask us about storing personal items for your return visit.

My wife and I visited Punta and stayed at the Salty Dolphin. What a great experience we had, and plan on going back as we found the location and property to be comfortable and easy to get around Punta.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Our vacation at the Salty Dolphin was one of our best so far. The house is very clean with three large bedrooms which came in handy when the familty arrived. The pool is also large with a sitting area and BBQ near by that made great afternoons for the family. The canal was interesting with lots of fish and I actually saw a Dolphin looking for food. It is possible to walk to the 'Fisherman's Village' if you are an energitic walker or makes for a leasurely bike ride. Sidewalks run from the house to the downtown area. We joined the St Andrews South Golf Club for the month of March which is only a five minute drive from the house. This was a great investment due to the location and it the friendliness of the club staff and members. You can not go wrong by renting the Salty Dolphin for your vacation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and I stayed at the Salty Dolphin for 2 months this winter (we are senior snowbirds). Lisa ( the owner) was a pleasure to work with; the minor problems that arose during the rental were quickly handled and the security deposit was returned immediately following our departure from the Salty Dolphin. The swimming pool was a real treat and its heater worked very efficiently to keep the water temp comfortably warm (without a large electric bill). As a result we were able to use it almost every day. The home is well laid out and is situated in a very quiet neighborhood. The home's listing description was accurate although we both felt that it was not quite the "luxury" home that its owners believed it to be. However Lisa did all one could hope for to make our stay a pleasant one.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

My family enjoyed the home. The house was very clean, plenty of room for all to relax. The owner is very professional and ensured once we arrived at the home had everything we needed.Our family really enjoyed the home and will rent again later this year!! WOW... The Salty Dolphin is a FABULOUS home. The owners are wonderful to work with and have ample supplies of EVERYTHING but your toothbrush. Quiet, private area with large inground pool on a saltwater canal that our son, niece & nephews love to fish it! (Caught dinner a few times) VERY, VERY clean, caribbean vibes that allow you to relax, rest & enjoy the view. Close dining and shopping at Fisherman's Wharf. Close to the Yacht Club and quick access to interstate if you want to visit Ft. Myers, Sanibel, Sarasota or Siesta Key... Loved staying here.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This home is clean and well furnished with spacious bedrooms, in a great location with quick access to downtown Punta Gorda and Charlotte Harbor. We stayed for the week between Christmas and New Years and had a great time. We particularly enjoyed the heated pool with the view of the canal only feet away. The owner is pleasant to work with and did little things to make our stay easy and trouble free.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

My Family and I had a wonderful time at this home. The owners were wonderful and the home was beautiful and very very Clean! Would recommend this home to anyone single or with a family. The baby gate was perfect. I had a 3 year old and felt very safe. Home is maintained with much TLC from it's owners. It has all the little extra touches you won't find in most rentals. It's extremely clean, unclutters and well furnished. Very convenient location yet in a quiet neighborhood.

PGI is a friendly, laid back boating community. Our pool is an oversized pool, not one of those little tiny 'bathtub' pools. Great for swiming and playing. Comfortable, one floor living with easy flowing floor plan which is wide open to the lanai.
