We were told that September was a great time to visit and that turned out to be so true! No crowds, nice weather, a very pleasant vacation all around. Sylvia and her property manager, John are awesome. She was very responsive to any questions and John was extremely helpful once we arrived on the Island. I would describe our stay as comfortable, like you were renting a friend's place. The house is fairly new so nothing's outdated or worn out. Housekeeping does a good job--everything was clean. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio in the mornings and evenings looking out on the large lawn area. There are no views but it's a quiet neighborhood surrounded by trees. I wouldn't describe the lagoon as steps away, it's more like 1/2 mile. We took our car because we had beach chairs, blankets and a cooler for wine and munchies--and watched a beautiful sunset over the water. Oak Bluffs center was a couple miles away but an easy bike ride, and Syliva graciously let us use the two bikes in the basement, which are fairly new. If you want some exercise, you can ride to Edgartown, about 8 miles one way. The bikes are mountain/hybrids with no baskets so if you need to carry anything, bring a back pack. It was just my wife and I so I can only comment on the MBR. The king bed was comfortable and the bath adequate, though small. There's a gigantic supply of towels but don't expect them to be all the same like a hotel--in fact we couldn't find two the same, not that it matters. The one big shortcoming was the lack of hangers. We scoured every closet in the house to come up with about 10 hangers. In conclusion, this property is a great value with great service. It's new, it's clean, it's close enough to town yet far enough to be quiet. We would recommend this to friends.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

We had a wonderful stay in Oak Bluffs in this beautiful home. Everything was as pictured, if not even better in person. The home is spacious and clean. We were a family of 6 and there was plenty of space for all of us to be together or in separate areas having some quiet time. The sky at night is breath taking. You can see every star above you. The location is perfect. Close to the hustle and bustle but just far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. The owner and caretaker were especially accommodating and readily available for any questions. The home is well stocked with lots of amenities We had lots to do enjoying Circuit Avenue shopping, walking around Edgartown and seeing the beautiful cliffs at Gay Head. Our family of four, including two school aged children, enjoyed our stay at the "Pause". My oldest daughter asked if we could move to the Island. She stated that the reasons were, "it's quiet, peaceful and I love the beach". Even though the weather was cooler, staying inside at the "Pause" made it easier with clean and fresh rooms, Internet access, bedrooms for everyone (master suite for me and my husband; separate bedroom for the girls); environmental friendly bathing products and TV in every room. I enjoyed the kitchen with its new appliances and kitchen utensils, especially when we baked cookies each night!!! Circuit Avenue have the best shops; teriyaki chicken wings at Offshore Ale was so good we ate there twice!! Taking the drive from one end of the island to other was so refreshing. Neptune's Sea Chest gave me the best price for t-shirts and Mad Martha's Ice Cream don't die 'til you have some. At first, we thought taking spring break week to the island would be a flop. Not so. We got the opportunity to see just about everything without the bumper to bumper traffic. Now, when we return it will be in the summer. The "Pause" is the place we will return on our next stay and I strongly recommend to anyone. Sistabration, my girlfriends' group, are making plans for next year!!Did you find this review helpful? This property greets you with its "Modern Cottage Chic" the minute you arrive in the front of the well manicured yard. And that's just the beginning! Eventhough I had seen the pictures online, I was wowed by what the pictures couldn't show, and that is the warm,peaceful energy of this property. This house is immaculate, and boast beautiful "quality" furniture, beautiful artwork, well placed accent pillows, rugs, and fine decor . The modern clean lines made the house very open and spacious vs. feeling as if we were living on top of someone else's things. I also appreciated the attention to detail that was taken for "the little things" such as night lights,and board games (which always make little ones feel comfy) and scented candles and a throw for the sofa (that made mom and dad feel comfy as well). The kitchen is beautiful with modern amenities not found in other rentals we considered. This property is a perfect balance of chic and modern meets warm and cozy...and the result is "Wonderful"!!I We will be back next year, to put our lives on "Pause" .Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

This house truly lives up to its name "PAUSE"!! You will surely put your life on pause when you enter the home. The home is immaculate and makes you just want to take your shoes off and sink into the couch with a nice glass of wine! My family and I felt totally at home there. The kids were very comfortable. The house is located in a area where you can get away from the chaos of Circuit Ave but still close enough where you can walk or ride a bike. I enjoyed my walks to the Lagoon in the morning with my cup of coffee. You will not be disappointed at all if you stay here. It is worth every penny! So go ahead and relax at PAUSE leaving your hectic life on the ferry!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children.
